Rain grabbed the arena with all his might and forcefully pushed his father with all his might.
"Haaaaaaaaaaa!" Rain shouted.
After the shout, Rain forced his body to spin to the other side of the arena, and Roan refused to let go of Rain, which was also launched.
They turned dozens of times in the air before they collided against the walls of the arena… Still, Roan suffered most of the damage and fell on the ground first as well… Rain was still standing using his father's chest as a platform, and then when the grip weakened, he jumped back to the arena.
"... Rain is the winner!" Esmeralda shouted.
The final move wasn't connected to Capoeira in any shape or form, but Rain didn't have to use such a finishing move. Besides, he accomplished his goal, and Roan got up with only a few broken bones.
"Well, that was something else," Terra said. "I didn't think that you would develop a new fighting style."
"It wasn't, and it was something I learned from the relics," Rain said. "Still, Dad got too much into it, and he didn't have to go that far."
"You could have just had given up a bit sooner, then," Terra shrugged.
As Rain caught his breath after the intense match with his father, he couldn't help but reflect on the upcoming tournaments. A subtle sense of weariness crept into his thoughts, and he began to consider the potential challenges that awaited him.
The realization struck him that facing each family member and friend in a series of tournaments might prove to be more of a hassle than he initially anticipated.
"Is it really worth going through all of this?" Rain wondered. "The other tournaments are going to be a pain in the ass." 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝙗.𝒄𝒐𝒎
Despite the weariness, Rain acknowledged that these tournaments served a purpose beyond just proving who was the strongest among them. The primary goal was to get stronger, to push their limits, and to discover new techniques and strategies. Each battle contributed to their growth, no matter how challenging or inconvenient.
"The downside," Rain thought. "Is that our parameters aren't increasing all that much. It's like we're hitting a plateau."

Rain didn't think that he would have to do that, but after analyzing his parameters, he assumed that he would have to change his skills a bit… just equipping those that he was improving with his mana wouldn't be enough, even if it takes more time, that will help on the next battles.
"Only five more rounds, and then we will be done… we will focus on the next mission and spend a few weeks preparing for the next tournament as well," Rain thought. "Perhaps it will be better to wait until the next mission is over instead."
Since he was receiving a lot of damage, Rain decided to change his skills to increase his vitality and endurance… that should help a bit. At the same time, after he headed home and began to work, he asked Sakaki to help him research some old fighting styles from Earth.
"I don't mind, but… wouldn't that classify as cheating?" Sakaki asked.
"No one will notice if there is no one to notice," Rain said.
"That isn't the right quote to use… moreover, you restrict yourself too much with your endless desire to fight barehanded," Sakaki said.
"I am going to mix all of them to power up my fighting style. The core will be the same, but I will have more options," Rain said. "The technique that I want requires that as well and no use of weapons."
It seemed a bit too late for that, but better late than never. In any case, it seemed that Rain's foundation couldn't improve that much… the best example that Sakaki showed Rain wasn't that useful against gigantic monsters and robotic enemies.
There was Muay Thai. These striking arts involve a lot of dynamic movements, including kicks, punches, knees, and elbows. Training sessions often include intense cardio workouts, which can help improve overall endurance.
There was also MMA. Mixed Martial Arts incorporates elements from various martial arts, including striking and grappling. Training for MMA often involves a mix of different disciplines, providing a well-rounded approach to endurance conditioning.
Karate can include a combination of fast-paced strikes, kicks, and blocks, depending on the style. Kata, pre-arranged forms, and kumite, sparring, can help develop endurance. In the end, offense was the best defense… if you defeat the enemy fast enough with a barrage of attacks, you don't have to worry about the damage taken.
Rain wanted to focus on that kind of thing to make sure to avoid as many problems as possible in the future.
While Rain didn't have much free time these days, he decided to incorporate parts of all of those fighting styles into his own. The match against his father made him understand that he needed more of the element of surprise…
"I guess I can also improve the Diligence path with new skills, but using them now would be cheap when no one knows it," Rain thought. "Still, once this is over, I will come up with a new technique to help with that."
While Rain was thinking about that, he received information about his next opponent… Seadrei had defeated Terra…
"I will have my revenge," Rain smirked from ear to ear and then began to laugh maniacally. "Justice is on my side."
