Repeatedly, Rain executed these meticulously crafted attack combinations with precision and speed, leaving Kei struggling to keep up with the unpredictable offensive. It became apparent that Rain's dedication to perfecting these sequences had transformed him into a formidable force on the battlefield.
The relentless repetition of his attacks showcased not only his physical prowess but also his strategic brilliance in creating a fighting style that, while in its early stages, proved to be a force to be reckoned with.
Eventually, Kei got tired of that… and decided to show her trump card as well. Even though that fighting style was also one hell of a trump card… in the next moment, Kei's body began to tremble, and at the same time, her aura began to change… it felt like she was using magic since the air around her began to vibrate, but wasn't the case.
The people around used Magic Eyes and didn't see any mana being used.
Before long, the aura began to change around her arms and legs… they took a wild shape like the claws and talons of a beast… it looked like she was only using her stamina to pull that off, and that was impressive since it wasn't supposed to be used like that.
"If this were a fight with an enemy, this would be the best moment to stop her… but it isn't," Rain thought. "Might as well let the audience enjoy this. I also want to win against her while she uses her best techniques as well."
Rain might regret that to some extent, but that was the original goal of the tournament, to make everyone showcase their skills and find the people that can win in those scenarios. 𝙣𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝙘𝙤𝙢
As Kei completed her preparations, an intense concentration of heat seemed to envelop her arms and legs. The air around her started to tremble with an almost palpable energy, creating a sensation of burning intensity. The onlookers in the arena could feel the rising temperature, and it was clear that Kei's trump card was unlike anything they had seen before.
The transformation extended beyond the physical as Kei's demeanor underwent a shift. Her calm expression gave way to a more wild and savage countenance, reflecting the unleashed power coursing through her veins. The arena buzzed with anticipation as spectators braced themselves for the impending spectacle.
Recognizing the imminent danger, Rain instinctively assumed a defensive stance. He could sense the potential devastation that awaited if he were to be on the receiving end of Kei's enhanced attacks. The atmosphere crackled with tension as the siblings prepared for the next phase of their intense battle, the air burning around Kei like a prelude to a storm of ferocious strikes.
All of a sudden, Kei appeared in front of Rain, already swinging down one of her arms, Rain used Impulse to the side and avoided the hit by a thin margin. Still, he didn't avoid the concentration of energy on her fingers… it only scratched him. Still, it had been enough to rip apart a small chunk of his shoulder.
"What the…" Rain furrowed his eyebrows.
The attack also hit the ground, and the impact made some people fall from their seats… at the same time, mark claws appeared on the ring thanks to the condensed energy…
When everyone saw that, they couldn't help but question Kei's intentions… it didn't have to be a big mistake. Even a small mistake with that kind of technique could lead to Rain's death. Until now, not a single death has happened, but that could change in the tournament now…
Kei didn't continue her attack. She just landed and then glared at Rain while he moved away. Her wild instincts really took over her… maybe it was one of the requirements for that technique… it would explain its immense power as well.
Before Kei could attack once again, Rain tried to use the same principle and control his stamina to change the surroundings of his body, he could feel and see a thing layer appearing, but it didn't go beyond that… he would need some training to pull the same thing.
Kei charged again and when swung her arms up and down while she was running toward Rain. Rain took several steps backward while seeing the claws of energy close in… it felt like the jaws of a giant wolf were about to tear him apart. In the next moment, he jumped to the side and then bodyslammed against her… but the back of one of the claws stopped him, and Kei didn't even more from the spot.
In the next moment, Rain felt his skin burning thanks to the condensed energy of the claw and jumped away. Rain examined the burn marks on his shoulder for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed in surprise and concern. In just a few seconds, Kei's concentrated energy had left behind two-degree burn marks. The affected area had a reddish hue, surrounded by a darker, charred outline.
The skin was blistered, forming small, raised patches that indicated the severity of the burn.
The burn marks had a noticeable texture, resembling a map of intense heat and energy. The center of each mark appeared slightly sunken as if the energy had singed through the layers of his skin. The edges of the burns were jagged and irregular, giving them an almost ominous appearance.
"This can be bad…" Rain thought. "It improves her defenses a lot as well."
Usually, that kind of technique was supposed to have a time limit, but Kei didn't seem to be in a hurry, so she probably could maintain that for a while… Rain couldn't count that she would get tired of it anytime soon.
Before Rain could think of anything, Kei charged once more, swinging her arms up and down, making them look like jaws. As if that wasn't enough, Kei added some vertical kicks that added to the dangerous situation… and that left no openings for Rain to attack her.
