Chapter 1014: Chapter 114: Snake Venom

Half a minute later, Jensen Cook finally came to his senses.

He felt his throat move, his mouth feeling somewhat dry.

He wanted to speak, but could not utter a word.

Known across Abernathy as the Poison King, his skills in poisoning were impressive, and his agility was equally formidable.

Yet, even so.

Jensen Cook hadn’t even seen how his opponent drew his sword.

All he remembered was a flash of cold light before his eyes.

And then.

The snake, cleaved into two sections.

"Brother Dragon, Mr. Warm’s abilities, they’re quite something, aren’t they?"

With a touch of pride, Horton Moore walked over, frisking Jensen Cook.

Eventually, his search led to the breast pocket.

He retrieved the bank card that had just been placed there, then stretched out his hand, smiling, "Antidote."

"What antidote..."

Having had the two billion snatched away, Jensen Cook was more than just angry.

He felt humiliated!

When he initially helped Horton Moore, he had deployed both his sons.

But not a single one returned!

And now they weren’t even planning to provide compensation?

"Didn’t you just have a snake bite me? I want the antidote to the snake venom."

Horton Moore still spoke with a smile.

"There isn’t any."

Jensen Cook, after all, was the boss of the Cook Family stronghold, known for his fiery temper.

"Then forget it."

Horton Moore shrugged his shoulders, draping an arm around Jensen Cook’s shoulder, "We’re all brothers here, no need for such ill will. The two billion certainly can’t make up for Brother Dragon’s loss. How about this, after the job’s done, I’ll give you three billion."

"Really?"

Hearing this, Jensen Cook asked with some skepticism, "You aren’t playing me, are you?"

He had thought that with the swordsman at Horton Moore’s side, he would have forced him to hand over the antidote.

But that was impossible!

He would never compromise, even in death.

What he didn’t expect was for Horton Moore not only to refrain from force, but to voluntarily offer an extra billion?

What kind of logic was this?

Could this be the bliss of the wealthy?

"My reputation, Brother Dragon, you’re well aware of it. A businessman, prides himself on integrity!" Horton Moore patted his chest, smiling in a very friendly way, "Talking money among brothers, it’s uncomfortable! Harms the relationship! Anyway, our common enemy is Julius Reed. Let’s kill him first, then reminisce!"

"Julius Reed, where is he..."

Upon hearing that name, Nathanael Warm slowly lifted his head and said in a somewhat deep voice, "I want to kill him."

"Mr. Warm!"

Horton Moore immediately wiped the smile off his face and spoke respectfully, "Julius Reed has already rushed to Aron Jackson’s residence, at the Bronze Sparrow Platform. Shall we proceed separately, or go directly... "

"I’ll go and kill him."

Nathanael Warm stepped out from the dark under the bridge, revealing his form.

It wasn’t until then that Jensen Cook got a clear view of his appearance.

Dressed in a black robe, with a hood.

A dark red cloak embroidered with an eye!

An eye that induced fear.

When Jensen Cook saw that eye, he couldn’t help but get goosebumps all over.

His hairs stood on end.

Afterward, his gaze was drawn to that dark red Longsword, and he was shaken once again!

Emblazoned on the Longsword was a dark red skull!

At the hilt was an eye from hell!

Just by Nathanael Warm’s attire, one could tell he was no ordinary man.

Jensen Cook found himself regretting his impudence.

Now, he felt like he had narrowly escaped death.

"Mr. Warm."

Horton Moore seemed hesitant to speak.

"Speak."

Nathanael Warm stopped in his tracks, his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword, and spoke indifferently.

His voice was devoid of any warmth.

Like a killing machine without emotions.

"I have an idea." Horton Moore tried hard to keep calm, but he couldn’t help trembling slightly, "Right now, Julius Reed’s wife is unprotected, and we were thinking..."

"That’s your business. Julius Reed, I’ll kill him."

After saying this, Nathanael Warm strode away.

Whoosh!

As he emerged from under the bridge, a fleeting shadow flashed by.

Vanished without a trace.

"He’s really... really like a deity!"

Jensen Cook’s legs trembled, and he couldn’t help but stroke his bald head, "Then, do we still need to take action..."

His bald head was covered in cold sweat. 𝙣𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Just like it had rained.

"He killed your son, don’t you want to kill his wife?"

Horton Moore revealed a cold and sinister smile.

"Let’s go!"

Jensen Cook frowned slightly and strode away.

...

The Bronze Sparrow Platform.

Aron Jackson lay on the bed with his eyes tightly closed.

His complexion was dark, and his body remained tense.

Doctors, fully equipped, were meticulously examining him at his side.

Cosmo stood at the head of Aron Jackson’s bed, her face full of anxiety.

According to her experience in the martial world, this was poisoning!

And a very severe one at that.

To prevent the doctors from becoming infected, she had specifically instructed the rescuers to wear protective gear.

"No effect, this poison won’t be detected anytime soon!"

The attending physician furrowed his brows, turning to glance at the equipment.

"His heart rate is accelerating, that’s not a good sign," he said to his assistant, "Give me our newest sedative. If the heart rate continues to speed up, I’m afraid it won’t be long before the poison spreads throughout his body."

After speaking, an assistant handed him a syringe.

After the injection, Aron Jackson showed no reaction.

"I’m sorry, we are really powerless."

The attending physician spoke with a sense of helplessness.

He truly didn’t want to say it.

That feeling of watching a patient’s life slip away while being powerless to help, was too distressing!

Even having experienced it many times, it remained an unbearable reality for the doctors.

"It’s okay."

Cosmo nodded with a faint smile, "Thank you for your efforts."

"I’m sorry."

The doctor felt remorseful.

But really, they were helpless.

Difficult!

This was a very strange poison, preliminarily identified as snake venom.

There was no cure.

"Thank you." Cosmo gestured dismissively, and Aron Jackson’s staff immediately came over to escort the doctors out.

No sooner had the doctors left than Julius Reed pushed open the door.

"What happened!"

Seeing Aron Jackson’s blackened face, he felt a surge of anger!

"Who did this!"

No matter what, Aron Jackson was his earliest employee after he had recovered his memory.

And the most loyal one!

Now, he had been attacked in secret?

"The doctors said it was snake venom, but there’s no way to treat it. Master, when Aron Jackson got out of the car, he suddenly turned out like this," explained Cosmo somewhat anxiously, "Is there really nothing you can do?"

In her view, Julius Reed was almost omnipotent!

If even her own master was at a loss, then Aron Jackson truly had only one path left—death!

"Don’t panic."

Julius Reed circled around Aron Jackson, resting his hand on his chin, and asked, "Aron Jackson, how did the poisoning occur?"

"His staff said, he collapsed suddenly after getting out of the car."

Cosmo had also rushed over after receiving a phone call.

By the time she arrived, Aron Jackson had already been poisoned.

"This poison is very strong; he must have been secretly attacked when he got out of the car."

Julius Reed examined carefully and put his hand on Aron Jackson’s neck, probing constantly.

Suddenly, his hand stopped.

Then he pulled a poison needle from the neck!

"So it’s this!"

Staring at the poison needle in his hand, Julius Reed’s expression grew increasingly grim.

"Go, bring me the surveillance footage from before your boss got out of the car!"

"Understood!"

An employee standing by the door swiftly departed.
