Chapter 680: Chapter 291: Played Until Crying
After a sleepless night, Su Huai still made it back to the hotel on time, joining Gu for her morning exercise.
After Zhang Dayi settled on the overall strategy, regarding things like fabric selection, choice of factory for outsourcing, and marketing plans, Su Huai couldn’t really get a word in.
But regardless of the details, Zhang Dayi always asked him to assist and give the final approval.
So the meeting went on until early morning.
Wu, who had slept next door in the live broadcast room, was so tired she could barely open her eyes, yet Su Huai was still full of energy.
On the way back, Su Huai drove the car, and she sat in the passenger seat holding her waist.
"Don’t ask me to do this again next time, I really can’t keep up with you young folks..."
Sister Wu nattered, not actually angry, but essentially reflecting on the fleeting nature of youth.
Gou Huai chuckled slyly to himself, thinking: Why else would I bring you along if not to get you used to taking orders from me?
Gou Huai had long realized that the people around Gu didn’t blindly follow the money-giving Old Gu and possessed a rare level of independence for lower-tier employees.
Lower-tier domestic servants can be hired with money and are highly replaceable, so they must obey their employers without question.
However, people like Wu Yong and Wang Andy, who provide highly specialized services, are few and far between globally. They don’t have to stick with the job but do so because they like Jiuyue and therefore accept the employment of Gu Tongshu.
So, following the guidance of a great man, the aim was to make more friends and fewer enemies—they were parties that could be won over.
"I’m sorry for the trouble, sis."
Su Huai had a knack for smooth talk: "I really didn’t expect it to go on so late, otherwise I would have let you go back earlier. I’ll be sure to pay attention next time!"
"Next time?"
Wu, with a stern face, refused: "There’ll be no next time. I am the Miss’s personal bodyguard!"
She put emphasis on the word "personal."
"OKOK."
Su Huai maintained a cheerful demeanor, but his attitude remained shamelessly thick-skinned: "But I’m a precious baby who needs protection too~~~"
"Oh my goodness!"
Wu rolled her eyes in disgust: "You’re really something..."
Su Huai couldn’t see the Favorability Rating, but he could sense the relationship improving—at least jokes were now on the table, right?
Just wait, Old Gu, sooner or later, I’ll leave you a lonely man!
...
Gu got up at 6:30 for exercise, and Gou Huai made sure she worked up a sweat.
After a shower and blow-drying, they had breakfast in the room and left Hangzhou at 8:30, heading straight for the Magic Capital.
Normally, taking a plane isn’t faster than high-speed rail, but private jets are different, with virtually no waiting time, and the car can drive right up to the tarmac.
By 10:30, they had arrived at the Global Building.
"Let’s chat with Mr. Zuo, have lunch, and then I’ll take you to Disney in the afternoon, how about that?"
Gou Huai had already painted a tempting picture for Gu on the way, which Gu was happily eating up.
"Great! By the way, what are you going to talk to Uncle Zuo about? How can I help you?"
Su Huai was immensely touched and responded, "The building for our company was found by him, and now it’s not enough. We want to expand upwards, and I think Mr. Zuo should be able to help."
"Do you think it’s his private property?"
"I guess?"
In truth, Su Huai wasn’t quite sure. His plan was to shoot first and ask questions later.
Gu was eager to help, suggesting on the spot: "If he doesn’t want to help, you don’t say a word, leave it to me!"
"Alright, I’m counting on you, Gu!"
Gou Huai was shameless as ever—how could a young person stoop so low?
But the more he was like this, the more Gu seemed to like it.
"Hehe, let’s go, let’s hit the jackpot!"
Hitting the jackpot was something Su Huai had taught her, and she picked it up quickly, using it well.
Wu directed the driver to the exclusive area, and Gu took Su Huai into the private elevator, then she paused, staring at the control panel for a couple of seconds before poking her head back out asking, "Wu, which floor was it again?"
Wu slapped her forehead and turned to give orders to Wang Andy: "You go up with her."
Andy was thrilled, walked over cheerfully, wrapping an arm around Gu and pressing the button for the 77th floor.
"Floor 79-93 is the hotel, 94 to 100 is the observation deck, Mr. Gu’s office is on the 77th floor, so are the group’s executives. Remember that?"
"Oh, it’s my first time here~~~"
Gu cooed, obviously not concerned about not knowing the location of her father’s workplace.
Ignoring her further, Andy said with a smile, "Continue your conversation, just pretend I’m not here!"
Are they shipping a couple or what? 𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙥𝒖𝒃.𝒄𝒐𝒎
What can we continue now?
Su Huai shook his head, bemused, but stood up straight and solid.
The elevator in the Global Building was extremely fast, and because this elevator didn’t stop in between, they reached the 77th floor in less than a minute.
The three stepped out and headed towards the receptionist. Su Huai spoke amicably, "Hello, I’m here to see Mr. Zuo, I have an appointment."
The receptionist was dumbfounded for at least three seconds, just gazing at the two of them.
"Oh... ah? Oh! Are you Mr. Su?"
"Yes, that’s me."
"Then please follow me, let me swipe you through."
Even coming from the private elevator, there was still a glass door to pass through, speaking to the security level of the Gu Clan.
However, the entire floor was exceptionally quiet, with no external office spaces.
The receptionist knocked on the executive assistant’s office door, switched to a secretary for the reception, and continued deeper inside to knock again.
"Sir, the esteemed guest Mr. Su you have an appointment with has arrived."
The secretary stood at the door reporting, Zuo Zongcai was seated behind his desk, not even lifting his head.
"Has the debt collector arrived? Let him in then, go get a cup of coffee for him, just instant will do!"
Old Zuo was quite perceptive, sensing the contentious nature of the visitor, so he didn’t offer a warm welcome.
