Soon, Leon was taken down below to the second level of the library and was handed back his library card which was now engraved with the title.

Scholar

"Hmmm, didn’t expect that" Leon mused before glancing at the level 5 existence at the top of the library.

A level 5 existence was rare even in the Undergod territory. Of course he didn’t know about the Undergod monastery itself....but existences like these couldn’t be so cheaply seen.

There was definitely something more to his presence here.

"Kid, over here." One of the two bald men whom had lead Leon to the second level of the library snapped his fingers calling his attention over.

"Oh yeah" Leon chuckled and focused on them.

These two guys were hiding their power levels, but Leon could tell by the way they moved, that they were level 3 existences like him.

(I guess they are the old man’s subordinates)

Leon mused, they dressed like him, were bald with monk robes. It wasn’t so hard to put two and two together.

"Everything here is available for you to read, but please do your best not to disturb those before you.....In fact, its best to stay clear of them, they are a bit eccentric." One of the men started Explaining the do’s and don’t of the library’s second level.

They included keeping to yourself, unless he wants to speak to the librarians ( the two bald men)

Not making noise, or causing trouble for them (the librarians)

And a lot of library ethics and the like.

"I understand" Leon bowed slightly at the both of them and smiled. He was hoping that he would get access to better materials, he wouldn’t cause trouble and get himself kicked out.

"Okay," the two men turned around and walked into the shadows and disappeared like ghosts.

Watching this Leon could only smile and shake his head. There was definitely something fishy going on here, these guys weren’t normal.

But he didn’t have the time to investigate. What he needed to do was get the info he came here for and leave.

"Let’s start over there" Leon mused and walked over to a section to pick up a book and there he began his reading.

Medicinal herbs, terrains around the Undergod territory and sacred lands. These books went into a much deeper depth on the things that interested Leon.

He even saw interesting myths and legends that he wouldn’t see it normally in the outside world. But sadly even this place didn’t have exactly what leon wanted

For example

1. Myths and legends that had to do with immortality

2. Information on powers that had existed for more than 5000 years or since antiquity.

3. Knowledge on the different races on finor world.

What leon wanted was hard to get Information. But he firmly belived that he could get it here.

So be kept on searching.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"They are here" at the top of the library where the old level 5 existence sat, a young man appeared and said.

"Hmmm, here? You mean with the Army?" The old bald level 5 existence questioned with the raise of his eyebrow.

"Yes," the young man beside him reported with an evil smirk on his face.

"Heee, tell that bitch to force the Duke to make a move.....a pre-emptive strike if you may, I want to know if ’he’ came with them" the old level 5 existence prompted.

The masses didn’t know this, but for years now, the library of Xion had been the most powerful force in the dukedom. The Duke was also in the dark on how powerless he truly was

He only knew that he had to respect the library master and nothing else.

"Yes Sire" the young man nodded and slowly faded into the shadows.

(Years of planning and you think you can ruin it? Jokstars all of you!!)

The old level 5 existence smiled while looking intensely at the bottom of the pit in the middle of the library.

There, a book old and dusty sat on a pedestal in the middle of the level.

Strangly there were no other books on this level except for this one.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Some progress"

Back at the second level, Leon commented with a smile, there was alot of knowledge on the second floor and they included one of Leon’s main goals.

Myths and legend of immortality.

Sadly, none of them shows promise of true immortality...only an extension In life span like the purple heart eternal flower. He had to find something more.

Apart from that, he did get some information on other races in finor world, for example—

Giants

Witches

Druids and so on.

It was a real eye opener, this world was really diverse. But he was also made aware that the warlocks were in a particularly perilous situation.

It wasn’t just eldoria’s royalty that wanted them dead. Even kingdoms and powers that were majority warlocks were being pushed out, most powers hated them for some reason and that was why the sacred land was formed. A place where all the warlock powers could congregate and defend themselves.

"Looks like it’s deeper than I thought....what did he do?" Leon mused

This hatred definitely fell back to the time of Altor. The old bastard must have done something to piss people off.

"Can’t dwindle on that, let’s see what’s down below" Leon shook his head and said .

The struggle of the warlocks was none of his business at the moment. What he needed was power and to get on with his plans.

"Kid, you should at least try the test and stop looking around like a dog" before Leon could make a move, a voice sounded beside him making him to glance over.

A short scrawny old man stood beside Leon with sleepy eyes.

After observing Leon for a while he noticed some things were quite different about him as compared to the other people here.

Most were old level 3 mages and warlocks with years of experience in philosophical discuss and scholarship. But Leon was a kid that didn’t look any younger than 17.

A genius? Maybe, but he wanted to confirm first.

"The test? What test?" Leon frowned. He didn’t know about the method of advancing to the next floor so he decided to ask the two librarians.

"Aiii, you should have asked someone. Those good for nothing bladheads won’t tell you." The short scrawny man said to Leon. Then he slowly leaned over and whispered.

"There’s a treasure at the bottom of the library and only by passing the tests on each floor will you be allowed to advance to the bottom" the man went on to explain.

They were all here as a last Ditch effort to get the treasure down below, because they were aware of the upcoming war. In which they were sure this place would razed to the ground.

"Ohhh, really?" Leon was surprised. A treasure? He never thought of it. But it kind of made sense. There were still people willing go enter the dukedoms main city even though a war was approaching. Other than fir treasure was there another reason why people would risk themselves like this?

.

"Yes yes, and everyone has an equal chance to get the treasure. Come come let’s go take a look at the test" the old man’s eyes were dodgy as he beckoned Leon to follow him with slight taps on his abdomen.

"Hmm" Leon thought nothing of it and slowly followed the man around the library till they got to a stone slab in a dark corner.

"It’s in Galrush, I’m sure you can read this text right?" The old man showed Leon the stone slab and asked if he knew the language.

Actually, almost everyone here could speak galrush as it was a major language In the Antiquity era. But....Leon didn’t, so he just started at the slab in silence.

"Arg?" Noticing Leon’s pause, the old scrawny man looked confused but soon enough his confusion turned to annoyance and disdain.

Leon couldn’t read galrush? How the hell did this ignorant fool get here in the first place?

(To think i was planning to ride his glory to the next level)

The scrawny old man sneered from behind Leon then slowly he walked away from behind him.

He had wasted time, it was best be continued reading and trying to crack the puzzle.

Meanwhile

[Ding!!!

The system has finished translating from galrush. The message reads.

In shadows deep, where silence dwells,

Death’s icy grip, where darkness swells.

Energies clash, in spells they weave,

A dance of power, in shadows, they believe.

As they congregate and form, a new energy is born.

A poem laid before Leon, one all too familiar.....it had a variety of modifications and interpretation all lost to time and age.

Funny enough, if there was one person that knew of these it would be none other than Leon.

Because what laid before him had roots that ran through Leon’s first set of abilities.

Fu shu magic.
