Chapter 245: The Fairy Queen

Electric! That was the only word that came to mind when Rhett tried explaining the sensation of having sex with Isleen.

By the moon, she’d become more confident too!

Too bad he had to leave soon after. He had to meet up with Alpha Beowulf and Aceco at the former’s duplex for something very important.

The Fairy Queen was visiting the Raven Wood pack!

Sure, he’d had the opportunity to bask in her presence a few times when meeting with the fey and human leaders, but that was outside the pack, within a localized space created with magic in the training camp.

He was low-key excited but not as excited as Aceco. She held her Queen with high regard.

After kissing Isleen goodbye, he drove off to Alpha Beowulf’s duplex. The duplex was heavily guarded and even more pack soldiers had been placed around and within it just for the occasion.

The pack’s citizens hadn’t been informed of the Fairy Queen’s arrival because it was being kept a secret. Rhett hadn’t even told Isleen, showing just how confidential it was.

The Fairy Queen was just too important. They couldn’t risk the vampires finding out and making a surprise attack that would take them off guard.

"Gamma Rhett." Aceco greeted him with a warm smile when he stepped down from the car.

The pack soldiers saluted him, lined up in perfect form with stoic expressions.

Standing at the entrance of the duplex were Alpha Beowulf, Aceco, and Luna Dawn standing meekly behind her husband to his right.

The youthful Luna of the Raven Wood pack looked drained, her eyes deepened due to several nights of mourning her father. The whole pack had observed a few days of mourning a week after Beta Darius’s death, but to her, it would be a lifetime of mourning.

"You sure took your time." Beowulf sniggered sarcastically, but his face still had a wide grin on it as he gazed down at Rhett.

The latter could only sigh as he took his place at Aceco’s left side. They waited patiently, as the evening sun draped above them, its calm golden-red light illuminating the pack.

Out of curiosity, Rhett turned to Aceco and whispered a question. "If we’re supposed to keep the fairy Queen’s arrival a secret, then how exactly is she going to get past the veil and then get here without attracting any attention?"

That had bothered his mind since he’d been informed that she was arriving this evening.

The Fairy Queen, for lack of a better term, was... eye-catching. Regardless of where she went, she would always turn heads, even in the presence of Alphas of other werewolf packs and leaders of the human resistance.

The humans in particular weren’t used to interacting with magic and basically gaped in awe at her and the Elven King during their joint meetings hosted at the camp.

In regards to Rhett’s question, Aceco smiled lightly before replying. "She doesn’t need to bypass the veil to get here. The fairy Queen and elven king are some of the only fey entities capable of seamless control of space and time. They can teleport to whatever location they desire as long as they can visualize it."

Teleportation?! Rhett couldn’t believe his ears.

That kind of magic had been lost for centuries before the war. The fact that the two most powerful fey leaders had access to it was a testament to how ancient they were.

"Can you teleport, Aceco?" Rhett couldn’t help asking now that his interest was piqued.

Aceco shook her head with a wry smile. "Not necessarily. My magic revolves mostly around healing and light. Those are my specialties."

Ahh, damn it! It would’ve been nice if they’d been able to teach the fey soldiers how to teleport.

Rhett felt like asking more questions still but paused when he felt a shift in the atmosphere.

Suddenly, the wind increased in intensity, blowing leaves everywhere within the compound. What followed was truly magical.

There was a ripple in the space at the very beginning of the line of soldiers and soon after a flash of white light. The flash lasted for a few seconds, but then when it dimmed down, a truly breathtaking figure was revealed.

The Fairy Queen.

No matter how many times he saw her, Rhett was always left gawking at her Majesty. She was the closest thing to divinity he’d ever seen, and that was saying a lot since he’d interacted with actual divinity in the form of the moon goddess.

Her wings were like a butterfly’s, but also looked like precious stones. They reflected the light from the sun like a prism, causing a rainbow-like light to surround the fairy Queen.

Her long hair was pure white and flowed like clouds behind her. Her skin was almost like porcelain. She wore a white gown that flowed around her and her wings fluttered gently behind her, each movement bringing a trail of magical fairy dust.

Accompanying the fairy Queen were two guards, both fairy men with an aura that easily matched Aceco’s. They had fierce looks on their faces, managing to make even Rhett grow tense.

Just then, after managing to regain his composure, Alpha Beowulf took the liberty of welcoming her. "Greetings, Queen of the Fairies. As the Alpha of the Raven Wood pack, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to our pack. I do wish that after this war is far behind us, we’ll be able to welcome you here properly."

Rhett felt like rolling his eyes but his face remained stoic as he and the others bowed slightly to acknowledge the fairy Queen. It was only proper since she was royalty.

Surprisingly, the fairy Queen spoke up with a rather soft voice. "Thank you, Alpha Beowulf. Your pack’s kindness and hospitality toward the fey shall never be forgotten. We are forever indebted to you as allies." She sounded sincere.

It was hard for a fairy to lie, and it seemed the same was true for the fairy Queen. Everything about her seemed pure and holy.

"Please, come in so we can all–" Alpha Beowulf was about to usher the fairy Queen into his duplex when she halted him with a raise of her palm.

"I come here bearing a message. One of hope for the fey, werewolves, and humans." She spoke ominously, her gaze unwavering from them. When her eyes met with Rhett’s for a second, his body shivered with fear and awe.

After that pause, the fairy Queen spoke again. "I have received a vision. A prophecy from the goddess who governs over the werewolves and the moon." Each word she uttered held a solemn heaviness as she paused yet again. "The chosen one is here."
