Chapter 234: 234, Write a Love Letter for Me (4)_1

After hanging up the phone, Shen Hao raised his head to look at Quan Jingwu and said, “Boss, Yi Kai said the last time we went to Y Country to see Count Sophallo, the lady’s brother was there. Perhaps we can call Count Sophallo and ask about the lady’s whereabouts.”

“Now.” Quan Jingwu’s eyes were as cold as ice as he gave the order curtly.

Shen Hao immediately understood his meaning, took out his cell phone and found Black Jack Sophallo’s number, and dialed it.

After almost a minute of ringing, when Shen Hao was about to hang up thinking no one was going to answer, a voice came from the other end of the phone.

“Who is this?”

Shen Hao, “Hello, Count Sophallo, this is Shen Hao from JK International. We’ve met before.”

At the other end, hearing “JK International,” Black Jack immediately thought of Jian Qing.

“Assistant Shen, why the unexpected call? Do you need something?”

“Sorry to disturb, Count Sophallo. Do you happen to know where Miss Jian is?” Shen Hao asked politely.

Did Jian Qing return to M Country without telling Quan Jingwu?

Black Jack’s blue eyes glinted, about to say something as he spotted Jian Qing returning from the corner of his eye.

“Please hold on a moment.”

Shen Hao frowned in confusion but didn’t say anything.

Black Jack stood up and walked towards Jian Qing, one hand covering his phone, “Didn’t you tell him about your return?”

Jian Qing looked a little weary. Upon hearing Black Jack’s words, her complexion changed suddenly.

Oh no, Xiaojing!

From her reaction, Black Jack immediately knew what had happened.

He waved the phone in his hand, “His man called.”

Jian Qing frowned, took out her phone from her pocket, and found that it had run out of battery.

“Will you take it?” Black Jack asked.

She took the phone and saw that it was Shen Hao’s number.

“Shen Hao!”

Upon hearing Jian Qing’s voice, Shen Hao could have wept with relief.

Thank goodness, she finally made a sound.

He quickly handed his phone to Quan Jingwu, saying with delight, “Boss, it’s the lady’s call.”

Almost as soon as he finished, the phone had disappeared from his hand.

Observing his boss’s ghost-like speed, Shen Hao’s mouth twitched.

Was he that eager?

In full knowledge of the situation, he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

They both listened to each other’s breathing over the phone. Neither of them spoke.

“My darling!”

“Xiaojing!”

Both spoke at the same time, and then fell silent. Then Quan Jingwu spoke again.

“Why aren’t you answering your phone?” His cold, elegant voice carried a touch of resentment and grievance.

Jian Qing nodded at Black Jack and went to stand by the floor-to-ceiling window with the phone.

“Xiaojing, my phone ran out of battery,” she explained.

After arriving in M Country, she had been busy with something and forgot to charge her phone.

“Did something happen in M Country that made you rush back?” If she had to hurry back to M Country and forget about her phone, something must have happened.

Jian Qing leaned against the window frame and responded with a hum, “My grandpa is sick.”

This was the first time she mentioned her grandfather to him.

Not willing to say much about it, she quickly moved on.

But this was Quan Jingwu, he wasn’t so easily appeased.

“Where are you now?”

“Why, are you afraid I’m out dating other men?” Jian Qing deviated from the topic teasingly.

Quan Jingwu frowned slightly, “Darling, don’t change the subject.”

“Right. How did you think to have Shen Hao call Black Jack?” Jian Qing asked curiously. She didn’t remember mentioning Black Jack to him.

“The person I was negotiating with on the cooperative case in Y Country was Black Jack Sophallo,” Quan Jingwu explained.

Jian Qing then understood – so that was it.

“Darling, don’t try to shoulder everything by yourself. Remember, you have me now.” The man’s deep and sexy voice made her heart flutter.

She wouldn’t say, so he wouldn’t ask. He knew his darling wasn’t a canary to be kept in a cage. She was someone who could stand by his side.

And, he would wait. Wait for her to voluntarily unravel all her secrets to him.

Jian Qing lifted her lip corners, her eyes glinting with amusement, “Xiaojing, sometimes it’s good to play dumb.”

Her Xiaojing really couldn’t hide anything from him!

The cold frost in Quan Jingwu’s eyes melted away, replaced with a soft warmth, “Darling, don’t get hurt, eat on time, don’t ignore your phone again.”

He prattled on and on. In front of her, the normally reticent Quan Jingwu was nowhere to be seen.

Jian Qing listened quietly, the amusement in her eyes brighter than the stars as she agreed to all his requests.

“When are you coming back?”

“When my grandpa’s health gets better,” Jian Qing answered.

“Should I come to keep you company?” Elders tended to have health problems… his wife’s return seemed to be an endless wait. He wasn’t willing to only be able to hear her news via a cold phone call each day.

Jian Qing chuckled, playfully retorting, “Xiaojing, are you trying to seize this opportunity to meet my parents?”

“Yes.” He readily admitted.

Jian Qing, “…”

“Darling, you’ve met my parents. Turnabout is fair play and it’s my turn now.” Preferably, he would like to also take the household register at the same time and directly go to register their marriage.

Jingwu’s heart skipped a beat.

Jian Qing’s lips curled into a smile and she said, “Xiaojing, timing is important for meeting parents.”

“When is the right time?” He pressed, seeking for a definite date.

“I’ll have to ask my grandpa first,” said Jian Qing with a light chuckle, imagining the look in the man’s eyes.

After a moment of silence, Quan Jingwu’s voice, gentler than ever before, came through the phone, “Darling, write me a love letter when you return.” 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝙗.𝒄𝒐𝒎

The abrupt change in topic left Jian Qing momentarily stunned.

“What?”

Did she hear wrong or did he say wrong?

A love letter?

What the hell?

“A love letter. Please write me one,” he reiterated softly.

After confirming once more, Jian Qing was certain she hadn’t misheard. She tried to hide her smile.

“Why suddenly a love letter?”

And why was it her writing to him, not the other way around?

Quan Jingwu thought of the scene he had witnessed at the airport yesterday: a couple reunited, the girl handing her boyfriend a stack of love letters. His crystal-like purple eyes filled with warmth.

“It’s just a sudden whim. Write one for me when you come back, will you?”
