Chapter 235: 235, Do less of such stupid things (5)_1
Jian Qing looked speechlessly up at the sky, “…”
Did this man catch a fever after his trip to J City and become delirious?
“What’s your answer?” The man’s urging voice rang out.
Jian Qing really wanted to ignore it. Kill her, how could she write a love letter?
“Xiaojing, you’ve never written me one. Why should I write you one? That would make me the loser,” she sought an excuse to get him to drop the love letter idea.
Writing a love letter is slower than blowing up the Bruce organization.
“Then I’ll write you one in return!” Quan Jingwu responded at a leisurely pace.
Was he trying to corner her?
“I’ll think about it.” She would stall as long as she could, hoping he might forget in a few days.
Even though this answer was not satisfactory, at least there was hope.
Quan Jingwu grunted in agreement, albeit reluctantly.
“Is it still night time in J City?” Jian Qing lifted her eyes to the floating twilight and asked softly.
“Mm,” Quan Jingwu confirmed, “The nightlife in J City is good. We should go together next time.”
Jian Qing’s weary face eased a little, and she responded warmly with an “okay.”
“Next time, remember to charge your phone. Don’t use other men’s phones.” In the end, the green-eyed monster had its say.
Jian Qing nearly slipped.
As she suspected, he hadn’t mentioned Black Jack from the start, and had been waiting for her here.
“Xiaojing, Black Jack is a life-and-death friend to me, he’s like family.”
Quan Jingwu’s eyes darkened, but he remained silent.
Not speaking, was he angry?
Jian Qing rubbed her brow, explaining, “Xiaojing, Black Jack has his own people to protect.”
After she spoke, Quan Jingwu’s tensed brow relaxed slightly, and his thin lips hinted at a smile. “I know.”
Jian Qing was speechless, knowing him but still giving off a jealous vibe.
Such a sulking man!
The two chatted on the phone, completely oblivious that they were using someone else’s phone.
In the living room, Black Jack was pretending to sleep on the sofa.
Jian Luo appeared at the staircase. He glanced at Black Jack resting on the sofa, and tiptoed towards him.
He was holding a cup of steaming hot coffee, which appeared to carry an apologetic hue.
As he approached, Black Jack became aware but deliberately kept his eyes closed, ignoring him.
“Black Jack!”
He stood straight, holding the coffee, bracing for whatever would come.
Seeing the man still keeping his eyes closed, Jian Luo felt a bit embarrassed.
Okay, understandably Jian Luo had unjustly lost his temper at him before, so him ignoring Jian Luo was justified.
“Black Jack,” he called again.
Black Jack slowly opened his eyes, lifted his eyelids, and gave him a cold look.
“What is it?”
His indifferent voice made Jian Luo wince a little.
“It was my fault today. I brewed this cup of coffee for you myself. Can you forgive me this time, hm?”
After speaking, he handed over the coffee in his hand, waiting for Black Jack to take it.
On any other day, Black Jack would have gladly taken it, but today he was obviously really angry.
“No need, I’m not thirsty.”
His immediate refusal left Jian Luo’s smile frozen.
Jian Luo’s hand holding the coffee was left hanging in mid-air. After a moment, he said hoarsely, “Sorry, I disturbed your rest.”
He retracted his hand, turned around with the coffee, and walked away dejectedly, not noticing the small table next to him. He bumped his knee directly into it.
The coffee in his hand wobbled and spilled all over, scalding his hand with the just-made hot coffee.
“Hiss–”
Black Jack, who had been keeping an eye on him, saw this and immediately leapt up from the sofa to grab his reddening hand.
Looking at the reddened white back of his hand, Black Jack couldn’t help but frown. “Are you an idiot? You even managed to hurt yourself serving coffee.”
He would drive him crazy sooner or later.
Jian Luo kept his head down and stayed quiet.
Black Jack took the coffee cup from his hand, set it aside, and led him straight to the bathroom.
He turned on the faucet and held Jian Luo’s hand under the cold water.
Jian Luo looked at Black Jack’s profile and the corners of his mouth slowly curved up.
At least, he was no longer indifferent to him.
“Are you still angry, Black Jack?” He asked tentatively.
Black Jack’s hand paused as he heard this, then he glanced at Jian Luo through the mirror. “Luo Xiaobai, don’t do such stupid things next time.”
He really wasn’t making him feel at ease.
Upon hearing him call him “Luo Xiaobai”, Jian Luo breathed a sigh of relief and smiled.
After rinsing his hand with cold water, the redness had not fully receded. Black Jack led him into the living room and fetched some ointment to apply to his hand.
When Jian Qing returned from her phone call, she saw spilled coffee on the floor.
“Luo Luo, did you spill the coffee?”
Mentioning this, Jian Luo felt slightly embarrassed.
“Erm, it was an accident.”
“If you’re clumsy, just admit it.” Black Jack teased him.
Jian Luo pouted, muttering, “What, it really was an accident.”
Noticing this, Jian Qing realized that the two had made up.
“Sis, did Quan Jingwu call?”
Jian Qing nodded and handed Black Jack his phone.
“What time is our operation tonight?” Jian Luo asked.
“Nine o’clock,” Jian Qing sat down and replied.
“You shouldn’t go tonight.” Black Jack put away the ointment, “You injured your hand.”
Upon hearing this, Jian Luo immediately disagreed. “No way, I have to go. This minor burn will heal soon, sis, you promised me.”
Jian Qing glanced at Black Jack, then helplessly said, “You two sort it out. I’m going upstairs to check on grandpa.”
With that, she ignored them both and went straight upstairs.
