Chapter 277: 277. The Small Universe Explodes (2)_1
She was about to get out of bed when she noticed the drawer beside her was slightly open. A peek inside and she spotted something familiar.
Jian Qing quirked a brow, opened the drawer fully, and had her suspicion confirmed. Her mini universe exploded in that instant.
Why on earth was this thing here again?
She estimated there were about ten boxes.
Moreover, three boxes had already been used – empty boxes left discarded in there.
This was just…blowing her mind.
She slammed the drawer shut, got up, and opened her wardrobe only to be greeted by a host of dresses.
Just as she was contemplating about which dress could better hide the marks on her, someone’s swift footsteps echoed into the room.
The satisfied grin on his face nearly drove Jian Qing into a rage.
“Wear this one,” he ignored her deadly gaze, selecting a dress for her from behind.
Jian Qing raised her gaze, taking in the sight of a long, pale-blue dress.
The silky, soft fabric felt comfortable, but the dress wouldn’t cover the marks on her collarbone!
“No.”
“What’s wrong, don’t you like it?” he asked, draping the dress over an arm and wrapping the other around her waist.
“What do you think?” She pulled her collar apart slightly to hint at the marks peeking out.
Jingwu chuckled and gave her a comforting head rub. “I’ll get some salve for that. It will fade right away once you apply it.”
Jian Qing choked. “…”
He really thought of everything, didn’t he?
“Let me help you change,” he said, starting to undo the buttons on her blouse.
“No need, I can do it myself,” she protested, wiggling away from him and taking the dress from his hands.
Have him help? Yeah right.
If she allowed that, she’d probably be stuck in bed all day.
She dragged herself towards the bathroom at a snail’s pace after randomly grabbing some underwear.
Watching her struggle with her steps, Jingwu let out a soft chuckle and rushed over to scoop her up in his arms.
“What are you doing? I said I could manage on my own.”
“Be good. Let me carry you to the bathroom.”
Upon hearing this, Jian Qing stopped her feeble struggles. After all, she really didn’t have much energy left.
Once they reached the bathroom, she quickly pushed him out and locked the door behind him.
The man’s credibility was far too low. She had to be cautious.
A moment later, she emerged from the bathroom.
Jingwu, who was in the middle of donning a shirt, looked up at her. His deep violet orbs admired her in admiration as he curved his lips into a perfect smile.
Any color looked good on her exquisitely white skin. Dressed in the pale-blue dress, her unique chilliness was softened—it highlighted her lazy elegance, making her seem like a refreshing breeze.
“Do I look good?” Jian Qing said peevishly, walking gracefully towards him.
“You look beautiful,” he complimented generously.
Jian Qing’s lips curled upward in a stunning smile.
“Sweetheart, help me with these buttons,” he said, pulling her hands to his partially open shirt.
Jian Qing’s delicate hands obediently began to fasten his buttons as she playfully protested, “Can’t you button it yourself?”
Jingwu was thoroughly enjoying his wife bustling about him, his lips curving into a wicked smile.
His sweetheart claims to be cold and indifferent, but for those close to her, she would pour out her heart.
How can he not totally fall for her?
After buttoning up his shirt, Jian Qing adjusted his collar.
Jingwu in a suit was just dashing!
Only when they started to leave the ship did Jian Qing realize their yacht was now at a different location than they had been in the morning.
“Are we going back?” Jian Qing asked, glancing at the man standing next to her.
“Yep, I’ll take you out here next time,” he answered her.
Jian Qing nodded in acknowledgment.
Just like before, he steered the yacht on their way back. With Jian Qing sitting by his side and both of them sharing light conversation while laughing, the return journey felt enjoyable.
When they returned to the dock, as expected, Shen Hao was waiting for them.
“Boss, Madam!” Shen Hao greeted respectfully. The sight of Jian Qing in her long dress left a trace of fascination in his eyes.
Jian Qing acknowledged him with a slight nod, then turned towards Jingwu, her smile light, “Jingwu, you need to give this man a raise.”
As an executive assistant, Shen Hao was a marvelous one, always ready to serve at a 24/7 call. He simply deserved some reward!
Upon hearing this, Shen Hao felt tears well up in his eyes.
The madam is truly understanding!
Jingwu glanced at Shen Hao, his gaze finally resting on Jian Qing. “You call the shots,” he said, lips barely moving.
Upon hearing this, Shen Hao was even more determined to stick with her from now on.
“Boss, are you guys heading back to the office?” he asked, though it was almost closing time.
“Nah, we’re returning to our old house tonight,” he replied.
Shen Hao handed the car keys and watched as Jingwu led Jian Qing to their car, then they drove off.
In contrast to the coolness of the sea, Beijing’s air still carried some heat around dusk.
By the time they arrived at their old house, it was getting dark.
From afar, Jian Qing could see that the lights in the living room were on and could faintly hear the sound of laughter and chatter. 𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝙤𝒎
As soon as they stepped into the living room, the chatter came to an abrupt halt.
All eyes turned to the couple as they entered. And when they saw Jian Qing in her long, blue dress, everyone was momentarily stunned.
This was their first time seeing Jian Qing in a dress and it was nothing short of stunning.
Mingxuan leaned back in the sofa, clicking his tongue in admiration.
Jingwu had indeed hit the jackpot.
“Wow, Jian Qing, you look unbelievably gorgeous in a dress,” Yifei gushed, hands to her cheeks, eyes gleaming, “If I were a man, I would definitely chase after you.”
Everyone burst into laughter at her words.
Jian Qing gave her an amused look. She couldn’t help but be glad that the effect of the salve was fantastic—all the marks on her body had disappeared. Otherwise, with so many people staring at her, it would have been dreadfully awkward.
“Little Qingqing, come sit here,” Rhee stepped forward, held her hand affectionately, and guided her towards the sofa.
Jingwu followed behind and chose a seat next to Mingxuan.
“Jian Qing, did Jingwu pick this dress for you?” asked Yifei, huddling next to Jian Qing and gossiping.
