Chapter 278: 278, Heart-piercing Bro (3)_1
Chapter 278: 278, Heart-piercing Bro (3)_1
She remembered that her third brother hadn’t returned to the company for the past two days, and from Shen Hao’s revelation, it seemed that he had taken Jian Qing out for fun.
Jian Qing nodded in agreement.
“Jian Qing, you’re favoring your lover over your friend. When it was us shopping together, you refused to try on a dress. But, when it’s with my third brother, you’ll wear it. Tsk.-tsk., you’ve really hurt my feelings.” Quan Yifei said, pretending to be heartbroken.
Feeling helpless, Jian Qing could only smile and didn’t know how to refute her.
“Yifei, they’re a couple now. How can you compare yourself to them?” Mingxuan teased.
“Our friends here went on a pre-honeymoon, right Jingwu?”
Everyone’s gaze shifted between Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing, becoming more ambiguous.
A honeymoon?
Oh, something’s up!
So, something unknown had happened between the two of them during the last couple of days.
Quan Yifei laughed mischievously, “Jian Qing, did you really go on honeymoon with my third brother? How come you returned so soon?”
Nope, your second brother was just joking.” At this point, Jian Qing wished she could stitch Mingxuan’s mouth shut.
Mingxuan chuckled, “I wasn’t joking. Jingwu’s yacht… Ayue and I have asked him to lend it to us twice, but that stingy jerk never agreed. Turns out, he was planning to take his wife on a honeymoon with it!”
That yacht is a limited edition – only two of them exist in the world. One was purchased by the man standing before him, while the other…who knows who bought it. He and Ayue were quite envious, lamenting that they were too slow.
Quan Jingwu remained unmoved, as if he didn’t hear Mingxuan’s sour words. He slowly added, “Now that you know, stop coveting my yacht.”
Mingxuan nearly choked. This retort really hurt his feelings.
What a heartbreaker!
“Hahahaha!”
Everyone burst out laughing.
Jian Qing was feeling a bit awkward and wanted to escape the scene.
“So, Jian Qing, did you go out sailing?” Yifei asked curiously.
Jian Qing just murmured in agreement without providing any further details.
Whatever transpired during their sailing trip was simply indescribable!
“Jingwu, I’ve heard that the best part of a honeymoon is conceiving a baby…” Mingxuan paused midway, leaving the rest of his statement hanging, which stirred everyone’s imagination further.
A honeymoon baby?
A cute little bundle of joy?
Everyone’s eyes lit up, especially Rhee, whose gaze was practically glued to Jian Qing’s flat stomach.
“Auntie!” Jian Qing cried out in embarrassment.
What on earth was happening here?
“Little Qingqing, why don’t you stay here for a few days? I can make you some nutritious dishes.” Rhee suggested enthusiastically.
Jian Qing looked at her with bewilderment, unsure how to politely decline.
“Um…”
Quan Jingwu chuckled, walked over, and took her by his side. “Mom, you might want to stop being the third wheel.”
Is this her actual son?
Rhee started to doubt.
He’s so ungrateful!
“Madam, dinner is ready.”
Just then, a servant emerged from the kitchen and announced politely.
“Good, let’s eat first, we can chat later.” The old lady suggested.
The old man had dinner plans that night, so he hadn’t returned yet. There weren’t many people at home, but since Quan Jingwu and others were back, the old lady had a feast prepared.
At dinner, Quan Jingwu, as always, served dishes to Jian Qing. The pair seemed closer than before, but no one could pinpoint how they were different.
Amidst the chatter and laughter, they enjoyed the meal together.
In the end, Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu didn’t manage to decline the hearty persuasion from Rhee and the old lady. They decided to spend the night at the old mansion.
However, this time it wasn’t in separate rooms. As the couple entered the same room one after the other, all of them chuckled in unison, sharing the secret understanding.
[Quan Family Members: We understand!]
As the night deepened,
Jian Qing stood in the bathroom with a strange expression.
“Knock, knock, knock–”
Along with the knock, a man’s voice sounded.
“Sweetheart!”
She had been in there for half an hour. Jingwu, deeply concerned about his wife, could no longer sit still.
The bathroom door cracked open slightly. Jian Qing poked her head out, looking rather embarrassed.
“Xiaojing, um…”
This was too hard. Explaining this to him seemed rather difficult.
“Is something wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Thinking she had been exhausted from the activities of the past few days, Jingwu got worried. He tried to open the door.
“Wait.” Jian Qing quickly held him back.
“Hmm?” He froze hand still clutching the doorknob.
“Could you hand me my phone?” A sudden idea flashed in Jian Qing’s mind, reminding her of someone who could help.
“Who are you calling?”
She was seeking help from someone else without even telling him first? This was not acceptable!
“Yifei.” She said.
Jingwu kept eyeing her curiously, but still fetched the phone for her.
As soon as the phone was handed to her, Jian Qing hurriedly closed the door.
Jingwu, left standing outside, wore a gloomy expression, feeling displeased.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
As the door opened, Yifei stood outside, her face turning stiff.
“Um…third brother, I am looking for Jian Qing.”
OMG! Why does this feel so awkward?
Jingwu let her in. Yifei strided towards the bathroom door and knocked.
“Jian Qing, it’s me.”
The door creaked open slightly, and Jian Qing poked her head out.
Yifei handed her the shopping bag she was carrying, “Here you go.”
“Thanks, Yifei.” Jian Qing, out of the corner of her eye, noticed a certain nobleman looking at them. She thanked Yifei and quickly shut the door.
“Third brother, I’ll get going now.” Yifei waved her paw, planning to leave with a big smile on her face.
Just as she reached the door, she was called to a halt.
“Yifei, what was that thing you were holding just now?”
“Just some necessities. You can ask Jian Qing later.”
With that, Yifei turned around and ran away, as if being chased by ghosts.
She silently took a moment to forgive herself. She simply couldn’t explain to the icy third brother what a sanitary napkin was.
In a short while, Jian Qing emerged from the bathroom. Apart from looking a bit pale, she seemed normal.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable?” He had noticed the slightest change in her. Jingwu pulled her into his arms gently and asked softly.
“No.” She shook her head lightly.
“Sweetheart, do you want me to check you?” His voice was low.
Jian Qing’s eyes sparkled with a hint of unusual color. Suppressing her embarrassment, she blurted, “My monthly period has started.”
Monthly period?
His face reflected confusion.
Did she also have a yearly period?
“What’s a monthly period?” In line with his principle of asking about anything unknown, he looked down at her and inquired.
Jian Qing was speechless.
She knew these confusing words would be too hard for him to comprehend.
Seeing that, she decided to be a bit blunt.
“It’s menstruation, got it?”
“Hmm?” Jingwu was confused again.
Seeing his reaction, Jianqing was exasperated.
“Period, got it? Period.” Upon uttering the words, she buried her face into his chest, utterly speechless.
If he still couldn’t understand, then she was at her wit’s end.
