Chapter 280: 280, Discussing Quan Jingwu (1)_1

In the room

Jian Qing was reading in bed, a warm light reflecting off her delicate face, creating a soft halo.

Upon hearing the door open, she looked up.

Quan Jingwu was holding a bowl and slowly entered.

The faint aroma of ginger diffused in the air; Jian Qing twitched her nose and a knowing smile crept onto her face.

“You went downstairs just to cook this?”

Quan Jingwu nodded and sat down by the bed.

“Drink some before going to sleep.”

Jian Qing sat up and looked at the bowl of brown sugar ginger soup, her lips curled in amusement.

Her Xiaojing always knew how to make her feel cherished!

He took a spoonful and cautiously brought it close to her mouth.

“It’s a bit hot, be careful.”

Jian Qing took a sip, her eyes curving into crescents, looking extremely adorable.

With one feeding and the other drinking, the bowl of brown sugar ginger soup was quickly drained.

The discomfort of the stomach cramp was gradually relieved, and she sighed contentedly.

Quan Jingwu placed the bowl on the bedside table and then got into bed.

Stretching out his muscular arm, he pulled her into his embrace and gently massaged her stomach with his long, jade-like hand, “Feeling better?”

“Hmm.” Jian Qing looked up at him, suddenly feeling a flutter in her heart.

She slightly tilted her body towards him, placing a gentle kiss on the corner of his lips.

“Reward!”

Seeing the playful smile that tugged at the corner of his mouth, Jian Qing hurriedly gave a clarification.

Quan Jingwu’s hand on her stomach paused, the color in his purple eyes deepening as he buried his head into her neck.

“Why are the little moments like these so annoying?”

His hoarse voice was filled with a hint of lament. Just when he tasted the sweetness, he had to turn back into a celibate monk.

Jian Qing chuckled softly, her fingertips twirling his hair.

The sight of Xiaojing being frustrated was quite cute!

The next day

Since there were several meetings at the company today, Quan Jingwu left early for work, while Jian Qing stayed behind at the old mansion.

After breakfast, Jian Qing bid goodbye to Rhee and others before going out.

Assuming she was going to find Quan Jingwu, Rhee didn’t ask further.

Jian Qing hailed a cab and went straight to a flower shop.

“Welcome!”

The clerk at the flower shop received her with a smile.

“How can I assist you?”

Jian Qing looked around the shop, her eyes landing on the bouquet near the floor-to-ceiling window. Her red lips curved slightly.

“I’ll take one of those, just nine blooms will do!”

The clerk stared at Jian Qing, a look of admiration flashing in his eyes.

“Alright, please wait.”

Jian Qing watched as the clerk skillfully arranged the bouquet. She handed him a note with an address and said, “Please have this delivered at this time to this address, and this envelope too.”

“Okay.” The clerk finished wrapping the bouquet and accepted the envelope with both hands.

After paying, Jian Qing stride out of the flower shop gracefully.

Checking the time, she estimated that he should be in a meeting right now.

Looking across, she noticed a café. Considering her think-tank team and Quan Yifei, she decided to walk over.

Across the road, a black luxury car was parked by the roadside.

The car window rolled down, revealing a man’s handsome, jade-like face bathed in sunlight.

“Wait here!”

With every word he spoke, light flowed through his soft voice.

No sooner had his words fallen, the car door swung open and he stepped out, his gaze following the lithe silhouette disappearing into the distance.

“Miss Jian!”

Just as she stepped into the café, a voice called out from behind.

Jian Qing turned around, an impatient look flashed across her eyes when she saw who it was.

“Chu Yihen!”

Her expression was indifferent as she called out his name.

Indeed, the man before her was Chu Yihen. He had just finished a business meeting with a client and ran into Jian Qing by coincidence.

But notably, Quan Jingwu was not by her side.

“Miss Jian, I think there must be some misunderstanding between us. Since we’ve met today, how about we sit down and talk?”

They stood stiffly at the entrance, the atmosphere growing tense.

“No need.” She responded curtly.

“Do you hate me that much?” Chu Yihen took a step forward, a glint of cunning in his eyes.

Jian Qing frowned, not wanting to engage him any further and turned to leave.

Seeing this, Chu Yihen chased after her, reaching out to grab her.

Feeling the movement, Jian Qing’s look turned icy. She shifted swiftly, evading his outstretched hand.

“Chu Yihen, my patience is limited.”

At her words, Chu Yihen smirked cynically.

Indeed, all her patience was reserved for Quan Jingwu.

“Give me some time and let’s talk.” His voice was calm.

Jian Qing pursed her lips, “There’s no need, I have nothing to talk about with you.”

Why were the folks from the Chu family so annoying?

Chu Ruohan was like this, and so was the person before her. They truly were of the same brood.

“What if I say we’re going to talk about Quan Jingwu?” Chu Yihen’s eyes hardened, his fists clenching by his side.

Xiaojing?

Jian Qing raised an eyebrow, a hint of mockery in her eyes, “Fine, five minutes.”

If he was asking to be humiliated, she wasn’t going to hold back.

Chu Yihen breathed a sigh of relief, watching her pick a seat by the window and sitting down. He followed suit.

“Would you like a drink?” He sat down across her, asking gently.

Jian Qing lazily waved her fingers, lightly tapping on the table, “No need.”

A shadow of disappointment flashed across Chu Yihen’s eyes. He slowly began, “Jian Qing, I don’t believe I’ve ever offended you. Why are you so hostile towards me? If it’s because of Ruohan, then it’s really unfair to me.”

“If that’s your point, then I don’t think it’s necessary for you to say any more.” Jian Qing glanced at him dismissively, a cold smile playing on the corners of her lips.

“Jian Qing, don’t tell me you can’t see it. I like you.” His gaze was fixed on her as he spoke, afraid of missing any change in her expression.

However, he was destined to be disappointed.

Jian Qing was expressionless, as if the person he was confessing his feelings to wasn’t her.

“Jian Qing, I’m not any less than Quan Jingwu. What he can give you, I can give you too–”

Before he could finish, a cold laugh slipped from Jian Qing’s lips.

Mocking, sarcastic.

“Ha!”

Chu Yihen looked at her, not understanding what she found amusing.

Jian Qing raised her eyelids, her voice frosty, “Chu Yihen, actually, you’re quite similar to Chu Ruohan.”

They both liked to be presumptuous, and they both liked to impose their ideas onto others.

Indeed, no wonder they were from the same womb.
