Chapter 286: 286, my sister brought Quan Jingwu over (3)_1

Quan Jingwu shifted his gaze, and when it fell on Jian Qing, the frost in his eyes faded, leaving only strong endearment.

“You can contact Shen Hao about the partnership deal.”

The implication is not to disturb him without any business.

Song Xirou felt a pang in her heart but still maintained a dignified smile on her face, “I understand, I apologize for the interruption today.”

Rhee saw this and shifted her gaze from the cake to her, “Would Miss Song like to have some cake with us?”

Though she didn’t like her, she still maintained due courtesies.

“No, thank you. I should be leaving,” said Song Xirou, whose gaze lingered on the black-clad figure, still hoping that he would ask her to stay.

However, the man was busy pampering his wife and had no time to pay attention to her.

“Excuse me, Auntie. I’ll be leaving now.” Song Xirou drew a deep breath, averted her gaze, and turned to leave.

She was afraid that if she didn’t leave soon, her hidden tears would uncontrollably start flowing.

Observing her retreating back, Rhee shook her head and chuckled softly.

If she were smart enough, she should let go sooner. Otherwise, she would only end up hurting herself.

“What are you doing, eating my cake?” Jian Qing looked sideways at the man who took her cake, making a disapproving comment, “Isn’t there more over there?”

“The one you feed is tastier,” he answered matter-of-factly.

Jian Qing, “…”

Did she feed him?

He had only come over and taken her cake.

“By the way, Jingwu, when are you guys heading to M Country?” Rhee asked, suddenly recalling it.

“Tomorrow.” Quan Jingwu responded.

Rhee nodded, agreeing. Meeting the parents as soon as possible meant they could get married and she could have grandchildren sooner.

This logic was flawless!

Having finished a small piece of cake, Jian Qing was about to get another when a big hand pushed away the cake that was on the table.

“Sweetie, have more in the afternoon.”

It was not that he did not want her to eat, but if she ate another piece of cake, she would not need lunch.

Jian Qing put down her fork unhappily, giving him a resentful look with her big eyes.

Quan Jingwu laughed lightly and rubbed her head, “Let’s go. I’ll take you for a walk to help your digestion.”

“Where?” she asked.

“The garden.”

Jian Qing took his hand and rose from her seat.

After saying their goodbyes to Rhee, the couple set off for their walk.

M Country, Manor

Thanks to Bai Jue’s medical treatment, Grandpa Jian’s health gradually improved, and his voice was returned to its robust vigor.

Jian Luo returned from his morning training and immediately went to wash up. When he stepped downstairs, he saw Uncle Qin standing helplessly at the entrance of the kitchen.

Jian Luo stealthily approached, and Uncle Qin’s face lightened up when he saw him.

Jian Luo signaled him not to make any noise with a wave of his hand.

Uncle Qin smiled understandingly and turned to leave.

The best strategy was to retreat, lest he would be scolded by the master later.

Jian Luo quietly walked in, hid behind a pillar, and peeked at the old man standing in front of the wine cabinet not far away.

If it wasn’t his grandpa, who else could it be?

Grandpa Jian, unaware of Jian Luo’s presence, was savoring the wine with satisfaction.

“Ahem–”

Jian Luo came out from behind the pillar and cleared his throat.

“Grandpa!”

Grandpa Jian stiffened, slowly turned around, and hurriedly hid his wine glass behind him.

Damn Uncle Qin, where did he run off to?

Once Luo Luo arrived, he didn’t even bother to inform him.

He gave a sheepish smile and met Jian Luo’s gaze, “Luo Luo, what brings you to the kitchen?”

“Grandpa, there’s no point in hiding it, I saw everything,” Jian Luo said helplessly.

Grandpa Jian no longer hid and brought the wine glass out from behind him.

Jian Luo stretched out his hand, the intention was clear.

Grandpa Jian’s face fell, but he still handed over the wine glass, his gaze fixated on the remaining wine in the glass.

Without hesitation, Jian Luo poured out the wine. Grandpa Jian watched with a pained face.

“Grandpa, Bai Jue has said that you can’t drink during this recovery period.” Jian Luo put down the wine glass, held back a smile, and spoke with a serious tone.

“If my sister learns that you’ve been drinking stealthily today, I’m afraid this wine cabinet will disappear.”

Grandpa Jian lowered his head sullenly. He obediently listened to Jian Luo’s lecture, creating a comical scene.

“Alright, alright, I won’t drink anymore.” Grandpa looked aggrieved, his mustache twitching, eager to get this over with as soon as possible.

Jian Luo saw through his anticipation but didn’t call him out on it.

“Grandpa, let me take you for a walk outside.”

Grandpa Jian glanced at the wine cabinet, reluctantly withdrew his gaze, and finally let Jian Luo lead him outside.

As the grandfather and grandson entered the courtyard, their eyes were greeted with blooming roses. The warm sunlight made them feel quite comfortable.

Looking at the roses all over the courtyard, a hint of longing flashed across Grandpa Jian’s face.

How wonderful it would be if Weiwei were here!

“Grandpa, are you missing my mom?” Jian Luo asked.

“Yes, your mom loved these roses in the manor the most. When she had nothing to do, she loved basking in the sun and reading a book in this courtyard.” Grandpa Jian’s eyes sparkled with indulgence as he reminisced slowly.

If he could turn back time, he definitely wouldn’t have indulged her as much as he had. If he hadn’t let her follow her heart’s desires back then, perhaps his Weiwei would still be alive and full of life now.

Jian Luo patted Grandpa Jian’s shoulder gently. He, too, missed his mom. But, they couldn’t go back in time.

The two sat silently, admiring the roses in the courtyard, their sentimentality only disrupted by the arrival of Black Jack and Bai Jue.

Bai Jue first checked on Grandpa Jian’s health before they sat down to chat.

“Jian Luo, what time is your sister arriving?”

Jian Luo, “I’m not sure, but they seemed to be on a morning flight.”

“They?” Black Jack caught the keyword and asked curiously.

“My sister brought Quan Jingwu along,” Jian Luo explained.

On hearing this, Bai Jue and Black Jack exchanged a glance, a similar smile playing on their lips.

It seems they could stir up some fun tonight.
