Bai Jue clicked his tongue, “Look at how lovestruck you are, still acting all tough.”
Annoyance flickered in Jian Luo’s eyes, and he reached out to hit him.
“Hiss——”
He exerted too much force and forgot about the injury on his back.
Cold sweat broke out on Jian Luo’s forehead, and his face grew even more pale.
Seeing this, Bai Jue stopped teasing him, hurriedly lifting his shirt to check his wound.
Thankfully, it was just strained a bit, the wound did not tear open.
“Ancestor, can you act like a patient for once, and stop moving around?”
“It’s all your fault anyway.” Jian Luo shot a glare at him.
Bai Jue raised his hands in a surrender gesture, “Alright, alright, it’s all my fault. It’s me who’s lovestruck, happy now?”
Jian Luo snorted, ignoring him.
“Go ahead and play hard to get. When Black Jack gets tired of waiting and finds another woman, I’d like to see who you are going to cry to.” Bai Jue sneered.
Jian Luo, “Get lost!”
Can something that’s bent be straightened again?
Bai Jue raised an eyebrow, was about to add some more jibes, when the room door was pushed open.
Assuming it was Black Jack coming in, Jian Luo’s heart tightened, but quickly relaxed when he heard the voice next.
“Luo Luo!”
“Sis!” Jian Luo’s lips curved slightly when he saw Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu come in.
“How is it going?” Jian Qing walked over, reaching out to ruffle his hair.
“I’m okay now.” Jian Luo said.
“What were you two talking about just now?” Jian Qing asked.
“Nothing.” Fearful that Bai Jue might blurt out something inappropriate, Jian Luo hurriedly answered.
Jian Qing looked suspiciously between the two of them, but didn’t probe further.
“Black Jack is here.”
Bai Jue, with sharp eyes, noticed a moving silhouette at the door and shouted out.
From the corner of her eye, Jian Qing saw the unnatural flicker in Jian Luo’s eyes and suppressed her smile.
“Here is the porridge.” Black Jack came over holding a bowl of porridge.
Jian Qing reached out to take it, “I’ll do it.”
Jian Luo inwardly applauded his sister.
“All of you should leave for a while. I have something to discuss with Luo Luo.” Jian Qing pulled over a chair to sit down, saying.
Black Jack’s feet were rooted to the spot and Bai Jue had to drag him out in the end.
As soon as the three of them left, only the siblings were left in the room.
“Uh, sis, maybe I should feed myself.” For someone his age, being fed by an older sister was really embarrassing.
Jian Qing glanced at him, “Are you sure you are able to do that now?”
Jian Luo choked, “…”
“Open your mouth.” Jian Qing scooped up some porridge, offering it to his mouth.
His stomach was already grumbling with hunger and Jian Luo didn’t have time to be embarrassed. He opened his mouth and ate the porridge that Jian Qing fed him.
“Sis, what do you want to talk to me about?” Jian Luo swallowed the porridge in his mouth and asked.
Jian Qing gently pursed her red lips, “Let’s talk after we finish eating.”
Jian Luo acknowledged with a sound, not asking any further.
After finishing the entire bowl of porridge, Jian Qing put down the bowl, pulled out some tissues, and handed them to him.
Jian Luo took them, wiped his mouth, and felt that the atmosphere suddenly became serious.
“Luo Luo, don’t you have something to tell me?”
Caught off guard, Jian Luo was momentarily stunned, “Wha, what?”
“What do you think?” Jian Qing looked at him with a teasing expression, her words full of implications.
Meeting her gaze, Jian Luo suddenly realized something, his ears turning hot.
He lowered his head, mumbling, “Sis, you know too?”
It seemed that what Bai Jue said was true. Everyone knew, except him.
“Know what?” Jian Qing asked, pretending to be oblivious.
Jian Luo hung his head even lower, “About, Black Jack.”
“Luo Luo, don’t you find it tiring to talk with your head down like this?” Jian Qing teased in a light tone.
Hearing her words, Jian Luo lifted his head, but didn’t have the courage to meet her gaze.
“Sis, what should I do?”
He couldn’t even figure out what his feelings for Black Jack were now.
Jian Qing gave a faint smile, “You can’t ask me about this, you have to ask yourself.”
“Ask myself?”
“Exactly, ask yourself, ask your heart.”
Jian Luo was taken aback; his reflexive response made him feel dumbfounded, “How to ask?”
Jian Qing laughed out loud, patting his head, “My little brother is so adorably silly.”
“Sis!” Hiding his embarrassment, Jian Luo shouted out.
Jian Qing stopped laughing and became serious again, “Luo Luo, there’s something I’ve been keeping from you.”
“Hmm?” Jian Luo looked at her, puzzled.
“Actually, Black Jack and I had an agreement,” Jian Qing said lightly.
Jian Luo frowned, “An agreement?”
He had no clue about this.
“Three years ago, Black Jack took the initiative to confess his feelings for you to me. At that time, I already knew that his feelings for you were not merely the kind between friends. I didn’t bring it up, but I didn’t expect that Black Jack would express it to me himself,” Jian Qing said slowly.
Jian Luo was stunned upon hearing this. Three years ago?
So early?
Jian Qing continued, “At that time, Black Jack and I agreed that if you only saw him as a friend, he wouldn’t be allowed to express his feelings for you until you acknowledge that your feelings for Black Jack are not merely that of a brotherhood friendship.”
“So, sis, if I end up with Black Jack, you won’t object?” Jian Luo looked at her and asked.
Jian Qing shook her head, “As long as it makes you happy.”
To her, love transcends genders. It has never been an issue.
All she wanted, was for him to be happy.
Jian Luo stared blankly at her, a bit taken aback.
“Luo Luo, just follow your heart, don’t worry about anything else,” Jian Qing reached out and pinched his cheek affectionately.
Ah, there’s hardly any meat left on his face.
“But, what about Grandpa…” Jian Luo voiced his concern.
Jian Qing laughed lightly, “Luo Luo, it seems Black Jack’s feelings for you are not unrequited.”
At her words, Jian Luo blushed.
“Sis, what are you talking about.”
“Can’t force it now, can you? You’re worried about how to tell Grandpa, still want to say you don’t like Black Jack?” Jian Qing joked.
Certainly, Grandpa wouldn’t accept it immediately, but given some time, he’s bound to soften.
“I didn’t say I liked him,” Jian Luo muttered.
Jian Qing chuckled, “Bai Jue probably had a long talk with you, huh? Think about it carefully yourself, if you really like him, don’t give up so easily.”
Jian Luo’s lips twitched. Sis, is it really ok for you to be so open-minded about your brother being with another man?
Jian Qing stood up, saying nonchalantly, “If you don’t like him, I suppose I ought to help Black Jack find a few women, so he doesn’t end up being a bachelor all his life.”
“No.” Jian Luo almost instinctively refuted.
“Oh, such passion?” Jian Qing’s eyes flashed with amusement as she tapped him on the head, “Are you jealous?”
“I am not,” Jian Luo stubbornly retorted.
Jian Qing didn’t argue with him any further, “Rest well, I’m leaving now.”
As she opened the door to leave, Jian Qing saw a person standing outside, and she smiled.
“Go in.”
Black Jack gave her a thankful glance, “Thank you.”
“Spare your thanks, just take good care of my little brother, or I’ll beat you up,” Jian Qing threatened jokingly, swinging her fist in the air.
After saying that, she went upstairs.
Black Jack opened the door and walked in. Jian Luo was lying on the bed, deep in thought, and didn’t notice him.
“Don’t just sit, lie down.”
His low voice startled Jian Luo.
“You…”
Black Jack walked over, adjusted the height of the bed, and held his hand.
“Lay down.”
Jian Luo lowered his head and obediently laid down.
“Jian Luo, we can discuss our situation after you feel better, let’s just interact as we used to for now, okay?” Black Jack looked at him softly.
Just like before?
Jian Luo was surprised, but he nodded his agreement shortly after.
“You should also rest, Bai Jue told me you haven’t been resting these past few days.”
“Don’t listen to Bai Jue’s nonsense, just rest,” Black Jack tucked him in, and sat down on the chair beside the bed.
Perhaps because he had just woken up and had spoken too much, Jian Luo fell asleep soon after his head hit the pillow.
Black Jack looked at his sleeping face, a faint smile curling at the corners of his lips.
He extended his hand, stroking Jian Luo’s cheek lightly, “Luo Xiaobai, I’m willing to wait for you, even if it takes a lifetime.”
As long as he’s willing, even if it takes a lifetime, he’s ready to wait.
Upstairs, when Jian Qing opened the door, she found no one in her bedroom.
She was about to go look for him, when she heard the sound of water running in the bathroom.
She stopped in her tracks and walked back.
Approaching the couch she saw a wine glass on the table, glowing with various colors. It was filled with an appealing, specially blended cocktail.
She picked it up and inhaled the scent lightly, there was a faint fruity aroma mixed with a hint of vodka.
Could Xiaojing be skilled at cocktail mixing?
Her eyes flashed, she took a small sip.
The mild fruity sweetness coupled with a hint of spiciness made it irresistibly addictive, urging one to take another sip.
Just as she was about to take a second sip, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped.
The next second, the bathroom door opened.
She turned to look and almost had a nosebleed.
A man stood there, dressed in nothing but a loosely tied towel around his waist, his well-defined torso gleaming slightly.
