Chapter 325: 325, You are My Baby (2) _1

Chapter 325: 325, You are My Baby (2) _1

The man in the red mask scoffed coldly, a malicious gleam flashed in his eyes as he glanced towards Jian Qing.

On the other side, Jian Qing had nearly dealt with all the men in black who were attacking her.

Seeing Jian Qing’s unguarded back, an ominous glint crossed his eyes. He twisted his wrist and let a hidden dart fly.

The dart was heading straight for Jian Qing.

“You’re courting death.”

Quan Jingwu’s deep purple eyes were filled with a murderous rage as he pulled the trigger, blowing off the head of the man in the red mask.

He then dropped his gun and ran quickly towards Jian Qing.

“Darling, move away.”

His deep voice, laced with worry, echoed in Jian Qing’s ears.

However, Jian Qing was entangled by the few black-clad men left, as if they had agreed in advance to latch onto Jian Qing relentlessly.

Hearing Quan Jingwu’s roar, Jian Qing’s eyes darkened. She grabbed one man’s neck, her fingers twisting with such force that the man’s life ended instantly.

Suddenly, the sound of a dart piercing flesh got lost in the sound of gunshots.

The sound was faint, but still reached Jian Qing’s ears.

Her heart skipped a beat. She picked up a gun from the ground, rolled over, and fired several shots at the two remaining black-clad men.

“Bang bang bang–”

The two men in black looked at each other with difficulty as the guns in their hands slid to the ground, their bodies leaning to the side as they collapsed.

“Thud–”

Jian Qing dropped her gun and turned around, her face paling at the sight before her.

“Xiaojing!”

Quan Jingwu was on one knee, his large hand clutching his abdomen, blood seeping through his fingers in an eerie black hue.

She rushed to his side and crouched down, looking at his pale face, and suddenly remembered his growled words from earlier.

Could it be….

She lowered her gaze to the black blood staining his hand, her eyes rimmed with red.

“You idiot, who asked you to take the hit for me.”

Her voice came out hoarse, her eyes full of distress.

A grin tugged at the corners of Quan Jingwu’s thin lips. The hand that wasn’t covering his wound reached up to mess with her hair. “You’re my darling. I am supposed to protect you.”

Jian Qing felt a sting in her eyes. She grabbed his hand, helping him upward, “Let’s get out of here first.”

The surrounding area was filled with the toxic gases of the swamp, and staying too long could put them in peril.

Quan Jingwu’s brows slightly knit together, his steps slightly unsteady.

Noticing his discomfort, Jian Qing suddenly realized something, her eyes filled with dread.

Damn it.

The dart was poisoned, and Xiaojing might have inhaled the swamp’s poisonous gas.

“Xiaojing, don’t fall asleep yet, we’re going back now.”

With that, she helped him drape his arm over her shoulder, then moved in front of him and hoisted him onto her back.

The slender figure bore the weight of the man’s tall and sturdy body. She gritted her teeth and started to walk away.

The clear moonlight sprinkled through the gaps in the leaves onto the ground, the heavy footstep stepping on fallen leaves creating a rustling sound.

“Darling, put me down. I can walk.”

Quan Jingwu squinted his eyes, pressing down on his wound from time to time to keep his consciousness alert.

“Xiaojing, so this is what it feels like to carry someone.” Jian Qing tried to lighten the mood, while beads of sweat trickled down her forehead.

“Darling, be good, put me down.” Quan Jingwu stroked her damp hair and said again.

She had been carrying him for nearly half an hour now, and she would not be able to stand it much longer if this went on.

Seeing her so adamant, his heart ached for her.

Jian Qing bit her lip, her lips, once rosy, now had turned pale, “No.”

“Be good, okay?” He gave a faint smile, his hair brushing against her neck.

Jian Qing kept silent, her steps becoming heavier by the minute.

While walking, she was also scanning her surroundings. All things in the world had their own checks and balances, perhaps there were herbs around that could suppress the toxicity of the swamp gas.

In the past, she frequently went with Bai Jue to the tropical forest, so she knew a thing or two about detoxifying herbs.

At this moment, she could only hope that she would find herbs that could temporarily suppress the swamp’s poison.

Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks.

“Xiaojing, you wait here for me.”

Jian Qing’s eyes brightened. She placed Quan Jingwu by a tree, but barely moved off when she felt a pull on her wrist.

“Where are you going?”

The hoarse voice echoed with an uncommon weakness.

She looked back at him, crouching down and meeting his gaze, “Xiaojing, do you see the slope over there? That’s Hundred Grass Ginseng, it can temporarily suppress the poison in your body.”

They once had a case in the tropical forest where Black Jack accidentally got poisoned, and Bai Jue had used this kind of herb to suppress the poison temporarily.

Bai Jue had mentioned before that Hundred Grass Ginseng worked on most poisons.

No matter what, she had to try it.

Xiaojing couldn’t wait any longer.

Quan Jingwu followed her gaze, a grave expression flashed in his eyes, and he tightened his hold on her wrist.

His thin lips opened slightly, asserting in an indisputable tone, “No way.”

Jian Qing frowned, “Xiaojing, the poison in your body can’t wait, I…”

“No way.” His eyes were locked on her, his stern voice cutting off her words as he repeated his stance.

The slope was covered with sharp stones and thorny vines, and it was so steep that it was hardly possible to find a foothold. To make it worse, that Hundred Grass Ginseng was close to the top of the slope.

If it was to temporarily suppress his poison at the expense of her safety, he would rather not have it.

Jian Qing smiled faintly, cupped his face in her hands, and softly said, “Xiaojing, trust me, I will be okay.”

“No way.” Quan Jingwu clutched her hand, his gaze firm.

Jian Qing’s eyes flashed with a complicated look, she bent down and kissed his lips.

“Xiaojing, wait for me.”

The soft murmur dissipated in the air. Without any hesitation, she pulled her hand away, turned and dashed towards the steep slope.

“Darling, don’t go.”

Quan Jingwu’s handsome face darkened, he growled hoarsely.

“Xiaojing, don’t come over. If you do, I will never talk to you again.” Jian Qing ripped a sleeve off her suit jacket, tied it around her hands, clenched the thorny vine with both hands, kicked her feet, and began to climb sharply up the slope.

Quan Jingwu paused in his tracks, his intense gaze followed the figure that was ascending continuously, his face taut.
