Chapter 382: 368, Aren’t you cold standing here? (2)_1
Jian Qing, “Grandpa, even if that man has some relation to my mother, I will not let anyone who harmed my mother off. I will seperate the two matters.”
Jian Qing’s gaze hardened, “Little Qingqing, don’t force yourself. If you can’t bear it, leave it to Grandpa.”
That man, although he hadn’t done anything wrong, his family had hurt his daughter, which was an undeniable fact.
His very own precious daughter, whom Jian Qing had cherished since she was little, was harmed by the An Family. He could never let them off the hook.
Jian Qing lowered her eyes, staring at her own toes, and said faintly, “No, Grandpa, I will not show mercy to those who hurt my mother.”
If it wasn’t for her and Luoluo’s determination to personally avenge their mother, Grandpa would have already taken action on Zhou Qi and the others when he went to Beijing to pick them up.
Mr. Jian grunted in agreement.
“Sis, that man, you…” Jian Luo wanted to say something but stopped.
“To be honest, I haven’t decided what to do about this matter yet,” said Jian Qing.
Jian Luo changed the subject, “Sis, I will come to see you in a few days.”
He needed some time to calm down and sort out all the complex matters.
Jian Qing, “Mmm.”
She ended the call and put her phone back in her pocket.
She looked up at the beautiful moon, her eyes filled with a foggy color.
A cold wind blew past, making her shiver.
“Dumbass, aren’t you cold standing here?”
The man’s magnetic voice sounded from behind her, filled with intoxicating affection.
The next second, she fell into a warm embrace.
The man held her from behind, his iron arms wrapped around her waist. His chin rested against her neck, his breath clearly audible in her ear.
She turned around, buried herself in his chest, and hugged him.
“Cold!” she mumbled. It was a soft, faint murmur, almost like a kitten’s.
Quan Jingwu stroked her smooth, long hair, slightly tilted his head, and softly kissed her forehead, “If you’re cold, stay obediently in my arms and stop running around.”
“Okay.” She used her head to rub against his chest.
“Let’s go back inside. You’re allowed to snack tonight.” He scooped her up in a classic princess embrace.
Jian Qing’s slender hands were wrapped around his neck. As she looked up, she saw his defined jawline. The coldness in his eyes gradually faded away, replaced by warmth.
“Xiaojing, let’s go on a trip when winter really comes,” she suggested.
Because she hated snowy days the most.
Quan Jingwu stopped in his steps, a flash of deep meaning in his eyes.
“Alright, as you wish.”
Those three short words were filled with his unique gentleness towards her.
The two of them went inside, blocking the bone-chilling wind outside.
…
In the following days, Jian Qing went to the company with Quan Jingwu.
The pair were the envy of others.
However, the An Family wasn’t so lucky.
Since Mo Xiao moved out, Old Master An had been eating alone in his room every day. He was of the mind that seeing Zhou Qi and the others would just upset him.
He was so full of anger, he had no appetite to eat.
For several consecutive days, a low pressure filled the An Family mansion.
“Mom, won’t our sudden arrival further upset big brother?”
Outside the heavy front door, An Rong tightly clung to Zhou Qi’s arm, a trace of fear in her eyes.
That day at the mansion, she was truly frightened by Mo Xiao’s undisguised murderous intent.
If it wasn’t for the problems her husband’s company was facing these past few days, she wouldn’t have agreed to come with her mom.
For several consecutive days, their company’s investors had been trying to terminate the partnership. The company’s shares were continuously falling. They were on the verge of bankruptcy.
These things were no coincidence. After she fell out with her brother, problems started popping up in their company. Who else could be responsible but him?
While others might not know, she was absolutely clear in her heart that although her older brother had been abroad for many years, he had great influence. His net worth was enormous and uncountable. Perhaps in the future, he would inherit most of the An Family’s wealth.
She had to hold onto him firmly.
The corners of Zhou Qi’s eyes were slightly red. She had cried a lot these past few days at home.
“What’s there to be afraid of? A blood relationship cannot be severed just because he says so. Go knock on the door. I’ll take responsibly for what happens.”
An Rong nodded and pressed the doorbell.
She pressed it several times, but no one came to open the door.
An Rong was getting impatient, “Mom, are you sure this is the right place? Did big brother really move back here?”
“I’ve confirmed it several times, there’s no mistake,” Zhou Qi answered.
While they were arguing, the tightly closed front door finally opened.
Zhou Qi’s face lit up in joy, “Azhe!”
The smile on her face didn’t even last a second before it faltered again when she saw who had actually opened the door.
“Where’s Azhe?”
Ning Feng had his hands in his pockets, looking at the uninvited guests, a mocking gleam in his eyes.
Were they stupid?
His master barely spared them once, yet they insisted on running into the line of fire again and again?
“I’m sorry, but the master does not wish to see you two. You can leave now.”
Zhou Qi’s brow knitted, displeasure evident on her face, “What is this attitude? I am Azhe’s mother, and you dare to behave in such a way with me.”
Ning Feng smiled insincerely, “That day, the master said he had severed all ties with you already, mother and son no longer. So, I would advise you to leave.”
“Get out of the way, I want to see Azhe. I won’t leave today if I don’t see Azhe,” Zhou Qi declared with a stern face.
Saying so, she tried to barge in, pulling An Rong along.
However, Ning Feng stood firm, blocking the entrance. He spoke in a cold tone, “The master is still angry. If you wish to repeat the events of that day, feel free to come in. But if anything happens, don’t blame me for not warning you in advance.”
Upon hearing this, Zhou Qi and An Rong froze.
An Rong, in particular, trembled slightly, her feet felt heavy as lead, and she didn’t dare to move forward an inch.
“Mom, maybe we should go back first, and come back another day.”
Zhou Qi’s eyes flickered with hesitation before she finally gritted her teeth and declared, “No, I must see Azhe today.”
She had finally found his residence, she couldn’t just leave without accomplishing anything.
An Rong suddenly regretted coming with her. Now she was stuck in a difficult position.
“Make way,” Zhou Qi challenged Ning Feng.
“Are you leaving or not? If not, I’ll call the security to drive you away,” Ning Feng threatened.
“You dare!”
“There’s nothing I wouldn’t dare to do.”
So saying, Ning Feng pulled out his phone and dialed a number right in front of them.
If he let them in, his master wouldn’t spare him.
For his own safety, he decided to call security to handle the situation.
“Security? We have two unknown individuals who have intruded. Can you come over and remove them?”
Zhou Qi’s eyes widened and the wrinkles on her face tightened into a knot.
