Chapter 395: 381, Patience and Tolerance (1)_1

His eyes moved away from me as he continued to cut his fruit.

“Bang——”

From the kitchen, a crisp sound echoed when a dish met its glorious end.

Startled by the loud noise in the neighboring living room, Jian Qing laughed.

It seemed that the crockery at home was at stake, so she might need to stock up more.

The atmosphere in the kitchen was tense.

Mortification washed over Mo Xiao when he stared helplessly at the now shattered dish on the floor. His face?

The dish slipped out of hands by accident.

“Heh!”

A low, soft laugh resounded from behind him. He didn’t need to turn around to know it was Quan Jingwu.

With gritted teeth, he glanced at Jingwu and said coldly, “The dish slipped from my hand. What’s your problem?”

Quan Jingwu raised an eyebrow, looking past him at the pile of dishes and the almost overflowing dish detergent foam in the sink.

It seemed hard to not slip.

“You’ve shattered one of my family’s dishes,” Jingwu said softly.

With his back molars grinding, Mo Xiao asked, “Your family?”

It’s his daughter’s house. How did it become his house? He has no nerve!

“The home of my sweetheart and me,” he declared naturally.

Mo Xiao almost detonated on the spot.

He shot back with a sarcastic comment, “You’re not even engaged yet. Don’t get ahead of yourself.”

Things were still up in the air, but as soon as his precious daughter forgave him, he was going to make Quan Jingwu’s life miserable.

He didn’t even know how to please his father-in-law-to-be. Disappointing.

“Thanks for reminding me. My sweetheart and I should hurry up and get married,” Jingwu said, curling his lips into a light smile. “You’ll definitely be at the wedding.”

To hell with him.

Mo Xiao sneered coldly at the overly bright smile on Quan Jingwu’s face. He wanted to punch it.

But he decided to put up with him, for his daughter’s sake.

He turned away from the bickering with Quan Jingwu and returned to washing the dishes.

Jingwu finished cutting fruit and leisurely walked out of the kitchen.

As he passed by him, he glanced at the dishes in the sink. His eyes deepened.

From the look on his face, these dishes were destined for the garbage bin.

It seems that his soon-to-be father-in-law was even worse at washing dishes than he was when he did it for the first time.

“What are you looking at?” Mo Xiao said, shooting him a sideways glance of displeasure.

Jingwu was not offended, and dropped a line before leaving the kitchen.

“It seems my sweetheart and I should consider ordering a bunch of dishes and bowls online.”

Mo Xiao, “…”

Patience, love, and tolerance.

He doesn’t want any of it anymore.

Quan Jingwu, this damn little brat, is just unbearable.

Never in his life had he, Mo Xiao, been picked on by a kid.

Leaving the kitchen, Quan Jingwu saw a woman sitting on the carpet grooming Snowball. A warm smile spread across his face.

Hearing the footsteps, Jian Qing looked up, her eyes filled with puzzlement when she saw only him.

“Why are you alone?”

“He’s still washing dishes,” he replied, placing the fruit on the table and sitting next to her.

“…”

There were only a few dishes, and they should all be smashed already, right?

Jingwu drew her into his arms and rubbed her belly with his free hand.

Jian Qing nestled in his arms, enjoying the pampering.

“So comfortable,” she murmured.

Of the three people that night, she ate the most.

Watching her languidly lounging in his embrace Reminded him of a graceful Persian cat.

As they basked in their romantic atmosphere, Mo Xiao was still stuck washing the dishes.

Looking at the clean dishes, he eyed the chipped edges with frustration.

After some thought, he put the most damaged dishes and bowls at the bottom and placed the cleanest ones on top.

Satisfied with his work, he nodded with satisfaction.

Washing his hands, he stepped out of the kitchen. Once outside, the scene before him made his blood boil.

Damn it, the kid was taking advantage of his daughter.

He strode over, deliberately making his footsteps loud.

Jian Qing pulled away his hand and quickly detached herself from his embrace.

Suddenly left with empty arms, Jingwu frowned.

Locking eyes with Mo Xiao, who had taken a seat on the opposing couch, a strange look danced in his eyes.

“Sweetheart, I nearly forgot our house has a dishwasher. If I had remembered, I would have placed the dishes in the dishwasher earlier,” he said casually.

Before he could settle down, Mo Xiao was ready to stand up and confront the man opposite him.

His face turned dark, and he shot dagger-like glances at Jingwu.

That little brat, Quan Jingwu, was obviously messing with him. How could he forget with his clever mind?

Jian Qing slapped her head, remembering the existence of the dishwasher. Since Jingwu often cleaned up, she almost forgot about it.

She looked apologetically at Mo Xiao, who quickly assured her, “No problem, just a few dishes. It’s no big deal.”

“Uncle An is correct. A few dishes don’t take much time,” Jingwu rubbed her hair and said casually.

Mo Xiao, “…”

He needed to find a time to meet with Quan Hao to see how he raised such a child.

Jingwu had a thick skin, probably thick enough to be unbothered by bullets.

Silently, the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

“Aren’t you two going to have a drink?” Jian Qing changed the subject quickly.

Their gazes met mid-air, sparks flying everywhere.

“Only one glass per person.” She further clarified.

“Alright.” Both men surprisingly agreed.

Jingwu stood up, followed closely by Mo Xiao. They picked up their wine glasses and bottles of red wine and walked out to the courtyard.

Their faces reflected in the transparent wine glasses. Each of them held a glass in hand.

Taking a sip, Jingwu glanced at Mo Xiao. “It seems that Uncle An isn’t very pleased with me?”

“I am indeed not pleased,” Mo Xiao replied bluntly.

If he could accept the man who had stolen his precious daughter, he would be damned.

“Heh!” Jingwu replied with a relaxed smile.

If he was not satisfied, then he would have to wait and see if his sweetheart’s “father” was satisfied.

“What are you laughing at?” Mo Xiao looked suspiciously at him. What was he so happy about?

“It’s nothing,” Jingwu said nonchalantly.

Mo Xiao gave a light snort, then after a moment he added sternly, “Be good to Qingqing. If you dare to bully my precious daughter, I will never let you go.”

Although he really didn’t like Jingwu, he had to admit that Jingwu was capable and smart. Knowing that his daughter was looked after by him, he felt somewhat relieved.

Jingwu smiled, then said sarcastically, “Seems like my darling hasn’t forgiven you, yet.”

He had not forgotten that she ran out of the An Family mansion in the rain.

‘…’

Mo Xiao’s face darkened, the glare in his eyes could kill.

This man was truly unbearable.

One glass of wine had lasted nearly an hour already.

Looking at the clock on the wall, Jian Qing turned her attention back to the two men outside in the courtyard, her eyes filled with confusion.
