Chapter 396: 382, Son-in-law has a conflict (2)_1

What are these two discussing? They have been at it for almost an hour and haven’t come in yet.

Did they drink too much?

Before she could speculate, the two men outside the courtyard returned.

She examined them closely, making sure they weren’t drunk before she finally relaxed.

“It’s getting late.” Quan Jingwu set down his wine glass, his gaze vaguely sweeping towards Mo Xiao, clearly intimating their departure.

Mo Xiao acted like he didn’t hear, comfortably sitting on the couch.

“Uncle An, My precious daughter woke up early today, so I need to rest early tonight.” Quan Jingwu’s thin lips lightly parted, using Jian Qing as an excuse.

Mo Xiao reflexively looked at Jian Qing, and Jian Qing, noting the late hour, agreed with Quan Jingwu’s statement and nodded.

“You should also go home and rest early.”

As their darling daughter spoke, even if Mo Xiao didn’t want to leave, he had to.

He reluctantly stood, “Then you should get some good rest.”

“Mm.” Jian Qing nodded.

They both saw Mo Xiao to the door, and as soon as the door was opened, a chilly breeze whooshed in.

Jian Qing reflexively leaned into Quan Jingwu, drawing warmth from his body.

“Well, I should get going then.”

Mo Xiao stood at the door, a touch of reluctance hidden in his gaze as he looked at Jian Qing.

Jian Qing nodded lightly. When she noticed his thin shirt out of the corner of her eye, her eyebrows furrowed slightly and hesitation flickered in her gaze.

As Mo Xiao began descending the steps, she called out in a rush.

“Wait!”

Just as her words trailed off, Mo Xiao turned back to find she had rushed back into the house.

It wasn’t long before she ran back out again.

Mo Xiao was taken aback, yet before he had a chance to react, a shopping bag entered his vision.

“This is for you.”

As she spoke, a twinge of awkwardness flitted across Jian Qing’s face.

Mo Xiao took the bag, looking puzzled. “What’s this?”

“It’s cold out, you should dress warmly.” She averted her gaze, speaking softly.

At her words, Mo Xiao chuckled. The radiant smile made his handsome face all the more captivating.

A daughter is a father’s intimate cotton-padded jacket, it really was so.

Lowering his head to look at the shopping bag, he took out the jacket from within.

Seeing the unremoved brand tag on the jacket, a wave of emotion surged in his chest.

His little jacket had bought him a jacket.

This realization made him so jubilant he could practically fly to the heavens.

Quan Jingwu sneaked a glance at him, silently scoffing in his mind.

Hia daughter had bought him more clothes, while Mo Xiao only received one. Clearly, she still loved him more.

Mo Xiao cast a soft glance at Jian Qing, then with a wave of his large hand, the black trench coat was on him. It fit perfectly and made him look even more tall and robust.

Jian Qing covertly glanced at him. Seeing that it fit him well, the corner of her mouth ticked upward.

Mo Xiao adjusted the collar, his gaze hopeful as he looked at Jian Qing and tentatively inquired, “Can I come over tomorrow?”

“I’m afraid not.” Quan Jingwu retorted, low.

Mo Xiao’s mouth twitched.

This brat was going to fight him, huh?

Sensing an oncoming argument, Jian Qing quickly stepped in between the two men.

She looked at Mo Xiao, her voice gentle. “Tomorrow night we have to attend a banquet, so we won’t be home.”

Seeing his darling daughter, Mo Xiao’s face once again adopted the benevolent smile of a father.

“What about the day after tomorrow?”

If Quan Jingwu didn’t like him coming over, then he would come even more often just to annoy him.

Jian Qing hesitated for a moment, looking at the hope hidden in his eyes, but couldn’t refuse him outright.

In the end, she agreed. “Okay.”

Mo Xiao cracked a grin, aimed a triumphant look at Quan Jingwu.

See? Your opinion doesn’t count. Only what his little Qing says counts.

Quan Jingwu’s eyes darkened, juvenile!

“It’s windy outside, you should hurry home so you don’t catch a cold.” As Mo Xiao turned his head towards Jian Qing, he spoke softly.

“Then we’re going inside.” Quan Jingwu quickly followed up, pulling Jian Qing indoors.

The door slammed shut, and the cold wind whooshed outside.

Mo Xiao stared at the closed door, his handsome face darkened. But as soon as he looked down at his coat, his mood brightened again.

A smile played on his lips as he turned around and left.

Inside the house, Jian Qing was nestled on the couch, looking at the man standing in front of her with amusement.

“Xiao Jing, what’s wrong with you?”

Quan Jingwu cast his gaze down at her, and then, suddenly, he spread his hands out wide. “Where’s mine?”

“Huh?” Jian Qing was confused.

“He has a jacket, where’s mine?”

“Didn’t I buy you lots before?” There were loads of clothes with the tags still on in the cloakroom.

“It’s not the same.” He retorted.

“Why’s it not the same?” Jian Qing massaged her forehead.

“Anyway, it’s just not the same.”

“…”

Why did she feel like he was trying to play her again?

Was she overthinking it?

But the very next second, what he said confirmed her suspicions.

“So you have to compensate me.”

“Compensate?”

She glared at him, and chuckled sarcastically.

“In your dreams.”

Who would have guessed, the man nodded stoically. “It is getting late, it’s indeed time to sleep and dream.”

As he said it, he scooped her up into his arms.

“…”

Jian Qing was speechless.

She suspected that Bai Jue and the others must have lied about her being a sharp-tongue. It was very clear that whenever they had a face-off, he always had the upper hand in the verbal sparring.

Gazing at the bedroom that was just a few steps away, Jian Qing buried her head in his chest.

“Xiao Jing, I was really tired last night. My back hurts.” She pleaded with a last-ditch effort.

The bedroom door was slightly ajar and Quan Jingwu kicked it open with his foot.

He looked down at her, a smirk playing on his lips. “Qingqing, behave yourself and we can rest early.”

Behave herself?

A horde of imaginary beasts stomped across her heart.

Damn it, she couldn’t continue this conversation.

Before she could get lost in thought, the man “threw” her onto the bed. He was gentle so as not to hurt her.

Immediately after, a slender silhouette hovered over her.

The atmosphere was enchanting, and even the bright moon outside the window hid behind the clouds.

Later, in the middle of the night, a hoarse voice rose in annoyance.

“Quan Jingwu, you liar.”

“Honey, just a little longer.”

“No more, I can’t take…it.” 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝖕𝖚𝖇.𝖈𝔬𝔪

In response to her was an even more passionate kiss from the man, the rhythm of which continued for a long time.

The next day

A large truck drove into Shijin Haoting, stopping in front of a villa.

Xing Sen stood at the gate, directing the workers to unload the goods.

Ning Feng walked out of the house. Seeing the large truck parked in front of the gate, his head was spinning.

“How much is left?”

“Look for yourself.” Xing Sen pointed to the large truck at the gate.

Ning Feng followed his direction and looked. His eyelids twitched.

Please don’t tell him that the remaining half of the truck contained goods their Master has ordered.

Looking at his reaction, Xing Sen delivered the coup de grace: “This is just the first truck. There’s another one coming.”

“What, what?” Ning Feng started, his eyes going wide.

There’s a second truck?

Did their Master plan to move an entire department store into his home?

Ever since Jian Qing came to visit the other night, right after she had left, Mo Xiao had instructed Xing Sen and Ning Feng to contact a renovation designer to renovate the two rooms upstairs.
