Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Questioning our CEO_1

Chapter 46 -46: Questioning our CEO_1

At the elevator entrance on the fifth floor, Quan Yifei was strolling back and forth, occasionally glancing at her wristwatch.

The elevator doors dinged as they opened. Jian Qing walked out and, seeing Quan Yifei waiting outside, couldn’t help but smile.

“Yifei, why are you here?”

Quan Yifei looked at her helplessly, “I’m waiting for you. How do you feel, is your stomach still bothering you?”

Jian Qing felt a warm feeling in her heart and shook her head lightly, “I’m fine now.”

“That’s good, let’s go. The photo studio is ready.” As Quan Yifei walked beside Jian Qing, she suddenly seemed to remember something. Her eyes lit up as she turned to look at Jian Qing.

“Jian Qing, you and my elder brother… Both of you?”

Meeting Quan Yifei’s teasing gaze, Jian Qing arched an eyebrow. Her voice was calm, “Nothing much, we just had breakfast together. I suppose that should be considered a perk of working under a considerate employer.”

Quan Yifei, “…” How come she never enjoyed such a perk?

“Jian Qing, what did you have for breakfast?” Quan Yifei asked curiously.

After a moment’s thought, Jian Qing’s red lips lightly parted, “Seafood shrimp porridge from Qianshi Restaurant and a slice of mousse cake.”

“Huh?” Quan Yifei was initially surprised, but then she gave Jian Qing a look that read, ‘I knew it’.

It was needless to say that the seafood shrimp porridge from Qianshi Restaurant was the signature dish of Master Ji. Her elder brother was indeed showing favoritism towards Jian Qing.

Just look at the disparity in treatment. People in the photo studio were treated to coffee and desserts, but Jian Qing was served signature dishes from Master Ji at Qianshi Restaurant. If Chu Ruohan found out, she would probably cry her eyes out. Quan Yifei thought in a gloating manner.

As to Quan Yifei’s look of gossip, Jian Qing chose to ignore it calmly, which made Quan Yifei even more curious about what had transpired between Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu in the office.

As soon as Jian Qing and Quan Yifei stepped into the photo studio, everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to look at them. Not too far off, Yang Xiang’s eyes were practically shooting daggers at Jian Qing. If it hadn’t been for the wrong occasion, she would probably had rushed over already.

“Manager Quan, I heard that you have recruited a new photographer. The time is not early anymore, can we start now?” Khan walked over. His dark brown eyes were filled with interest as he looked at Jian Qing, his fluent Chinese was impeccable.

Khan, the internationally renowned jewellery design genius. Geniuses often have strange quirks. The photoshoot of his jewelry line had yet to satisfy him. No matter how many photographers Quan Yifei hired, the photos they took were all rejected by him. His reason was that the photos did not capture the soul of his designs.

Quan Yifei nodded, “Khan, let me introduce you to our newly hired photographer. I guarantee that you’ll be satisfied with the photos this time.”

Jian Qing looked at Khan, a slight smile tugged at the corner of her lips, “Hello.”

Khan laughed heartily, “Hello.”

“What? She’s a photographer? How’s that possible?” Yang Xiang and a few others were approaching Jian Qing. When they heard what Quan Yifei said, Yang Xiang was the first to step forward, her high heels seeming rather ferocious.

At that moment, not only was Yang Xiang shocked, but the people in the photo studio were also stunned, looking at Jian Qing in disbelief.

Is this beautiful woman actually their photographer?

Chu Ruohan’s eyes darkened, as her hands by her side clenched tightly. Jian Qing being the photographer for the photoshoot, how could that be possible?

Quan Yifei had anticipated this reaction. She calmly cleaned her ears, “Jian Qing is the photographer hired by our company for this jewelry photoshoot. Is there any objection?”

While saying the last sentence, Quan Yifei intentionally glanced at An Yu’s group of three.

Seemingly shocked by the news, Yang Xiang’s eyes were fixated on Jian Qing, a mixture of astonishment and anger evident on her face.

Jian Qing’s expression was unfazed, while Khan, with his hands in his pockets, appeared to be watching the drama unfolding with interest.

“Yifei, is this true?” Chu Ruohan approached, and glancing at Jian Qing, she asked in a gentle voice, “Is Miss Jian the photographer for this shoot?”

Although Quan Yifei didn’t like Chu Ruohan, she had to consider the relationship between their families, and so she put on an official smile, “Yes.”

Reconfirming the situation, Chu Ruohan looked at Jian Qing, and as her eyes touched the latters beautiful side profile, they darkened even further.

“Yifei, so JK International cannot find a photographer, and that’s why Jian Qing was chosen to shoot for us?” Yang Xiang thought that Jian Qing was just an errand girl in the photo studio, but she turned out to be a photographer. Yang Xiang took a disdainful glance at Jian Qing and spoke in a mocking tone.

At these words, everybody looked a bit strange, instinctively glancing at Jian Qing to see her reaction. They found that she remained calm. It seemed as if she didn’t care about Yang Xiang’s remark or was just pretending to be composed.

“Yang Xiang, Jian Qing was personally hired by our CEO. Are you questioning our CEO’s judgment and capability with your words? If you’re not willing to participate in the photoshoot, you’re welcome to leave. I believe there are plenty of models who would love to work with JK International.” Quan Yifei said coldly, her eyes flashed with sharpness.

These few words instantly created a stir in the photo studio.

The CEO personally recruited her?

Had they heard correctly?

How many photographers changed over time in the company, including many high-ranking executives? Who among them had the privilege of being personally recruited by the CEO? Just who was this Jian Qing?

In a corner where nobody could see, Chu Ruohan turned deathly pale, her fingers tightly clenching the hem of her dress.

He personally hired Jian Qing? Impossible! How could he personally hire a photographer with his personality?

Quan Yifei must have said so to protect Jian Qing. It must be so.

“What… what?” Yang Xiang took a step back, her voice cracking slightly.

Jian Qing, even though she was the one involved, didn’t show any sign of being affected by everyone’s surprise. She looked at Khan, a ripple of laughter playing on her lips.

Seeing everyone’s shocked expressions, Quan Yifei was satisfied. She clapped her hands to get their attention, “Alright, let’s stop standing around. Let’s get back to work. We don’t want to delay the photoshoot.”

Hearing this, except for Chu Ruohan and her group, everyone else quickly returned to their tasks. The most important thing of working in JK International was – less gossip, more work. Otherwise, one could be fired at any minute.

It was hard to find a company as good as JK International, with its high salary and benefits. So, they should take their jobs seriously. After all, earning money is still the top priority, followed by gossiping.

“Yang Xiang, you and the others should go do your makeup again, so as not to delay the photoshoot.” Quan Yifei looked at Yang Xiang and her group, who were still standing in the same spot, and reminded them in a soft voice.

Yang Xiang wanted to say something, but An Yu who was next to her, grabbed her arm and led her away with Yang Lin. Chu Ruohan gave Jian Qing a deep look, then she also left to the makeup room.

There was still a lot of work for Quan Yifei on the studio. After a brief exchange with Jian Qing, she started discussing the details of the shoot with one of the crew members.

Jian Qing headed straight for the area where the photography equipment was kept. After she had just sat down, Khan followed her and unceremoniously sat down opposite to her.

“Jian, pretending not to know me the moment you see me, aren’t you being a little too hard on me?” Khan looked at Jian Qing, his brown eyes filled with a playful smile, which seemed to be indifferent to the events of the world.
