Chapter 94: 94, Someone is bleeding (third night watch) _1
With a sudden lunge into empty space, under the influence of gravity, Yang Xiang stumbled. Unable to maintain her balance, she toppled to the side.
“Bang–”
In the heat of the moment, Yang Xiang grabbed the handrail of the stairs. She ended up half-kneeling on the ground. She was unharmed, but the tall floor vase next to her suffered the brunt of the impact.
The human-height vase heavily smashed onto the ground, shattering into pieces with a loud crash.
The flowers inside the vase were scattered messily on the floor. The water changed in the morning splashed everywhere, wetting Jian Qing’s shoes.
“Xiangxiang.” Yang Lin quickly ran over and helped her up, “Are you hurt?”
Yang Xiang was a bit taken aback, she shook her head and said, “I’m fine.”
Jian Qing glanced at her coldly and then continued up the stairs, ignoring Yang Xiang and her group.
The wet sensation in her socks was very unpleasant, unbearable for a person with a mild obsession for cleanliness like her.
Once in her room, Jian Qing immediately walked to the wardrobe, opened the wardrobe door, and paused.
What’s that smell?
Jian Qing moved closer to the wardrobe and sniffed. Her clear eyes turned cold, she quickly grabbed one set of clothes and brought it to her nose.
The fingers clutching the clothes tightened, a mocking, cold smirk curling at the corner of her lips.
Well, seems like a rat had made a nest in her room while she was away.
A scent of men’s perfume, and a faint whiff of medicine.
This was getting interesting.
Throwing the clothes aside, Jian Qing quickly scanned her room. Then, she pulled her phone out from her pocket and started tapping on the screen.
After a while, many different coloured lines appeared on the screen. White, red, green, blue. The colorful lines crisscrossed, creating a dizzying display.
“Beep beep beep–”
Suddenly, a soft noise emitted from her phone, attracting Jian Qing’s attention to a particular spot on the screen.
A small, hard to detect black dot was at the intersection of a multitude of red and blue lines. But in front of her, such a thing was as plain as day, it couldn’t be more obvious.
Holding her phone, Jian Qing headed towards the bathroom. The closer she got to the bathroom, the louder the “beep beep beep” sound from her phone became.
She stepped into the room and scanned the bathroom, not missing a single spot.
Suddenly, her gaze fell on the top of the doorframe. The corner of her lips curved into a bloodthirsty smile.
Tsk, this rat really wasn’t smart at all.
Pulling over a stool, Jian Qing stepped up onto it, reached up, and forcefully pulled down the small device hidden on the doorframe.
Tsk, someone really had invested quite a bit.
A globally-limited pinhole camera.
Fiddling with the small black object in her hand, the icy look in Jian Qing’s eyes deepened. She walked out of the bathroom at a leisurely pace.
Instead of confronting anyone immediately, Jian Qing fiddled with her phone.
In her territory, playing with these kinds of gadgets, should she say that this rat was stupid, or extra stupid?
If it had only been a suspicion earlier, now the evidence was in front of her eyes. She would have a hard time letting this one off easy.
With a light tap on the touchscreen, she dialed a number for Khan.
“Khan, bring me four strong men, the kind with lots of strength. Also, tell each of them to bring a big hammer.”
Hearing this, Khan on the other end of the line was taken aback. Sensing that something was wrong, he anxiously asked, “Jian, what’s wrong? Where are you now?”
“I’m not in trouble. Someone else is about to bleed.” A smirk formed on Jian Qing’s lips, “You don’t need to come. I can handle it myself. I need those men urgently. I’m sending you the address.”
Khan was a public figure. Involving him would only complicate matters.
Before he had the chance to say anything more, the call was disconnected. Khan lost his focus on his work and hurriedly looked for people to send to Jian.
Who was it this time, who had the gall to seek trouble in front of that old fox?
Don’t ask him why he was not worried. History had told him it was less worrying for the old fox to be in trouble than it was for the one who had invadaded her space.
Although this was not his territory, finding a few men wasn’t a big deal.
After the call with Khan, Jian Qing didn’t feel like changing her socks anymore. After all, everything in this room displeased her. It was better to keep her feet damp.
Putting the object into her pocket, Jian Qing walked out at a leisure pace.
