Chapter 148: Chapter 148 Somthing more dangerous (2)

Kyra paused, her breath ragged and visible in the cold air. She watched the beast disappear into the trees, confusion mingling with her relief. Something wasn’t right if that terrifying creature was running away like that.

She took a deep breath, her heart still pounding from the chase. The snow continued to fall, blanketing the world around her in a cold, white silence. What could have scared that beast so much? She turned to look at the mountains again, a sense of unease settling over her.

However, the thought of returning to the forest where the beasts lurked filled her with dread. She had no choice but to take the mountain path. With a limp, she walked towards the towering peaks, each step a painful effort.

Her eyes lit up when she saw a cave entrance in the mountainside. Uncertainty gripped her, but she knew she needed shelter. With cautious, small steps, she made her way inside.

The cave was frigid, with ice crystals lining the walls. Multiple tunnels branched off from the main chamber, each one dark and foreboding. The cold was intense, but it offered a refuge from the dangers outside. Kyra shivered, her breath forming small clouds in the air as she ventured deeper into the frozen labyrinth, hoping to find safety and perhaps a place to rest.

She looked around and chose one of the cave tunnels, walking carefully inside.

The cave she entered was empty, but she didn’t care. Shifting back into human form, She quickly customized a transparent space capsule and set it up in the cave. With shaky hands, she walked inside and closed the door behind her.

Kyra leaned her back against the door and slid down to the floor, her body trembling from fear and exhaustion. She covered her mouth with her hands as sobs escaped, her chest heaving with each cry.

She had never felt this scared. She had never imagined the world could be so dangerous, never thought she would face such a terrifying situation.

"I want to go home..." she breathed through her sobs, hot tears streaming down her face. The warmth of her tears contrasted sharply with the cold air, and she hugged her knees to her chest, seeking some comfort in the solitude of the capsule.

Her stomach growled with hunger, and feeling the biting cold, she quickly went to her room to get some thick, warm clothes. Once dressed, she hurried to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she saw mostly junk food, but her lips curved into a smile when she spotted a basket of carrots and fresh vegetables.

"Lucas..." she muttered, tears escaping from one eye. "I miss you both," she thought. "I never realized how well protected I was with you guys. No harm or difficult situations ever seemed to touch me, and whenever something happened, you both were always there by my side."

Her heart ached with longing as she grabbed the vegetables. The thought of Lucas and Vincent brought both comfort and sorrow.

She felt a pang of gratitude mixed with sadness, recognizing how much she relied on them.

As she prepared a simple meal, the memories of their times together flooded her mind, giving her the strength to face the challenges ahead.

"No matter what, I will find you both." she thought, her eyes flashing with determination.

After her meal, she quickly took a shower, the warm water soothing her tense muscles. She applied medicine to her wounds.

The pain was still there, but the fresh bandages and the warmth from the shower made her feel a little better.

She wrapped herself in a thick blanket and sat down, her mind racing with thoughts of Lucas and Vincent.

They were out there somewhere, worried about her, and she was determined to find them.

The fear and loneliness she had felt were now being replaced by a fierce determination.

She would survive this world, no matter how dangerous it was, and she would be reunited with her loved ones.

The next morning, Kyra struggled to get out of bed. It was freezing outside her space capsule, but she knew she couldn’t stay in forever. She put on a thick sweater and gloves, turned off the capsule, and stepped into the icy cave. Everything looked the same after the chaotic day before, and she couldn’t remember which way she came from.

The air was quiet and cold.

Kyra’s breath formed clouds in front of her as she scanned the caves. Each entrance seemed identical, making her feel lost. Despite her nerves, she picked a cave entrance randomly and started exploring, her footsteps echoing softly.

"This is strange." Kyra muttered to herself as she walked deeper into the cave. The silence around her was eerie, with not even the sound of small animals to break it. She couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that settled over her.

On her way, Kyra noticed the walls were adorned with stunning blue flowers, their bright hues contrasting against the icy cave.

Her eyes lit up as she continued deeper into the cavern.

"How deep does this cave go?" she pondered aloud.

Suddenly, a wave of fear washed over her. She hesitated, unsure whether to press on or turn back. But she had come this far, and there was no point in retreating now.

With each step, her legs began to ache again. "Not again," Kyra muttered to herself, frustrated. She knelt down, touching her legs in hopes of easing the pain with her healing ability. But this time, nothing happened. Disappointment washed over her, leaving her feeling uncertain and tired.

With her legs aching, she continued walking. Her eyes widened in awe as she beheld the stunningly vast cave, and they sparkled with joy when she spotted the hot spring.

The sight of hot water instantly brightened her face, and Kyra hurried towards it. Cupping her hands, she scooped up some water, feeling its warmth against her skin. Here, in this otherwise lifeless place, she had found something precious at last.

However, her eyes widened in shock when she saw something else nearby...
