Chapter 150: Chapter 150 Escaping
Kyra’s heart pounded as she stood before the dangerous man with piercing silver eyes and an air of authority that made her shiver. His laughter echoed in the cavern, sending a chill down her spine.
The man’s smirk widened as he regarded her with amusement. "Oh, little one," he chuckled darkly, "you’ll find out soon enough."
Kyra’s stomach churned with unease, but before she could protest or flee, he raised a hand in a commanding gesture.
After a moment, he straightened up and looked down at her with that same cold smile. "Do not try to escape," he ordered. "I will be back shortly."
With that, he turned and strode away, his blue hair flowing behind him like a dark river. Kyra watched him disappear into the shadows of the cave, her mind racing with uncertainty and fear. She was alone now, surrounded by the eerie silence of the cavern and the distant murmur of the hot spring.
As he turned and walked away, Kyra’s sensitive ears heard his footsteps fading. She looked around the cave, noting the thick nest made of grass and the absence of anything else. The urge to escape was strong, but she knew she had to be cautious.
She quickly walked out of the dragon’s cave, her eyes scanning the area. She didn’t remember which way she had come, so she randomly started walking, desperate to leave.
Kyra’s heart raced as she fled from the dragon’s cave. Every step echoed loudly in her ears, amplifying her fear of being caught.
She didn’t dare to look back, afraid that the massive beast might come back and pursue her.
Relief flashed in her eyes as she escaped from the mountain cave. n𝚘𝚟𝚙𝚞𝚋.𝚌o𝚖
Outside the cave, the landscape was a maze of icy corridors and towering rock formations.
Snowflakes danced in the air, swirling around her as she ran. Her breath came out in visible puffs, the cold air stinging her lungs.
She glanced around, trying to orient herself, but everything looked unfamiliar. Panic threatened to overtake her as she realized she was lost in this frozen place.
The silence of the icy landscape was deafening, broken only by the sound of her own frantic footsteps.
Her legs burned with exhaustion, her injured foot throbbing painfully with every stride. But she couldn’t afford to stop. Fear drove her forward, pushing her to keep moving, to find a way out of this desolate place.
Suddenly, she found a narrow path winding through the snow-covered rocks. It seemed to lead somewhere, offering a faint glimmer of hope. Without hesitation, she followed it, her heart pounding in her chest.
The path twisted and turned, leading her deeper into the wintry landscape. The cold bit at her exposed skin, but she pushed through, driven by the need to escape.
After what felt like an eternity of running, she saw a faint glow ahead. Hope surged within her as she approached cautiously. As she rounded a bend, she came upon a small clearing where the sunlight filtered through the clouds, illuminating a cluster of trees.
Relief flooded through her as she realized she had found a forest.
The trees offered shelter and possibly food. With trembling legs, she slowed her pace and ventured into the safety of the woods.
The forest was quiet compared to the harsh landscape she had just left behind. The crunch of snow beneath her shoes and the occasional rustle of leaves in the breeze were the only sounds.
She kept her senses sharp, wary of any potential dangers hiding in the shadows.
As she walked deeper into the forest, she began to notice signs of life.
Animal tracks in the snow, birds fluttering between the branches above her.
The sight of a small stream trickling through the trees filled her with hope. She knelt beside it, cupping her hands to drink the cool, refreshing water.
Exhaustion washed over her, and she realized how hungry she was. Her stomach growled loudly, a reminder of her urgent need for food. She scanned the forest floor, searching for anything edible.
Kyra froze in fear as the shadow fell over her. Her heart pounded in her chest as she slowly raised her head, her eyes widening in dread. There, hovering above her, was the massive blue dragon.
Its dark blue scales gleamed in the sunlight filtering through the forest canopy. Its wings, spanning wide, cast a shadow over Kyra, making her feel small and vulnerable.
The dragon’s eyes, a piercing silver, fixed on her with an intensity that sent chills down her spine.
Kyra’s mind raced with fear and uncertainty. She had thought she had escaped the dragon’s lair, but now it seemed to have found her again.
Her body tensed, ready to flee, but her legs felt like they were rooted to the ground.
The dragon lowered its head slightly, its long snout coming closer to her. Kyra held her breath, not daring to move. She could feel the heat radiating from its massive body, contrasting sharply with the cold air of the forest.
"Why did you leave?" The dragon’s voice resonated deep and rumbling, echoing through the quiet woods.
Kyra hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Fear gripped her, but she knew she couldn’t lie to such a powerful creature. "I... I was afraid," she managed to whisper, her voice barely audible.
The dragon regarded her with a steady gaze, as if weighing her words. "Afraid?" it echoed, its tone contemplative. "Of me?"
Kyra nodded slowly, her throat dry. "Yes," she admitted, her voice trembling. "I didn’t know what you would do..."
However, suddenly she realized he could speak in his dragon form. Seeing his larger size and aura, as Lucas had told her, he must be of rank above seven.
’He must be very powerful’ she thought.
"If you’re afraid, why did you enter my lair?" he asked. Kyra looked up at his massive beast form, feeling like an ant in front of him.
"I didn’t know you were there," Kyra replied, coming back to her senses. "Now that I know, I’ll leave you alone," she said, meeting the dragon’s piercing but dangerous eyes.
He narrowed his eyes further. "You think you can just walk away now?"
