Chapter 151: Chapter 151 Prove your worth
Kyra swallowed hard. "I didn’t mean to intrude. I was just looking for shelter."
The dragon’s cold laugh echoed around her. "Shelter in my territory comes at a price, little thing. Do you think you can pay it?"
"I... I don’t have anything to give," Kyra stammered, feeling her fear rise.
He leaned closer, his hot breath washing over her. "Then you will have to prove your worth in other ways. For now, you stay. And remember, do not try to escape again."
Before Kyra could react, the dragon gently but firmly picked her up with his mouth and placed her on his back. The scales were surprisingly warm, a stark contrast to the icy surrounding.
He took off into the sky, and Kyra clung to him, her heart racing.
The flight was both terrifying and exhilarating. She could feel the power in his wings with each beat, the wind rushing past her.
As they soared over the mountains, Kyra couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of awe.
They landed in a different part of the cave, deeper and more secure. The dragon settled her into his big nest, which was surprisingly warm.
"Stay here." he commanded, turning and walking toward another chamber.
Kyra watched his retreating form, her thoughts racing. The warmth of the nest made her momentarily consider running away again, but she quickly shook off the idea. She knew he would catch her again if she tried.
A short while later, she heard him returning. Her eyes widened as she saw him carrying a thick blanket in his mouth. He approached her, his gaze still as intense as ever.
Seeing her sitting up, he placed the blanket down and gently but firmly guided her to lie back in the nest. He covered her with the thick blanket, and she caught a whiff of a masculine scent that was both comforting and intimidating.
"It’s too cold for a delicate thing like you to survive outside." he said, his voice softer but still carrying an edge. He lay down beside her, his massive body providing warmth. His wings folded around her, pulling her closer into his embrace.
Kyra’s heart raced, but the warmth and the scent of the blanket began to soothe her fears.
She glanced up at him, his sharp Scary features softened slightly in the dim light of the cave.
He closed his eyes, and Kyra, exhausted, did the same. She curled up in his wing and leaned into a dreamless sleep.
Kyra woke up to the sound of splashing. Her hair was messy as she lifted herself out of the thick, cozy blanket, a stark contrast to the icy surroundings.
Hearing another splash, she lifted her head and was almost shocked when she saw a man swimming around naked. His shoulders were broad and wide, adorned with ink-like patterns that looked almost like tattoos. His muscular arms moved powerfully through the water.
As he raised his head towards her, revealing his strong body, the sight took her breath away. His eight-pack abs were defined, and his chest looked powerful. Water droplets fell from his blue hair to his face. Sensing her eyes on his body, his lips curled upward.
"Little thing, haven’t seen any male before?" he said as he swam to the shore.
Her eyes widened in surprise as he emerged from the water. The sight of him was both mesmerizing and intimidating. He moved with a grace that belied his size, every muscle in his body rippling as he walked.
Kyra tried to look away, but she couldn’t help herself. Her breath hitched as he stood there, completely unashamed of his nudity. Her eyes fell to his defined V-lines and then lower.
Oh my god! Why is he so huge? she thought, feeling her face heat up.
He noticed her reaction and smirked, his sharp teeth flashing. "Enjoying the view?" he teased, his voice low and mocking.
Kyra quickly averted her gaze, feeling a mix of embarrassment and fascination. "I... I wasn’t..." she stammered, but the words caught in her throat.
He stepped closer, still dripping with water, his presence overwhelming.
He chuckled, covering her eyes with his large hand. "Little thing being a bad so bad, hmm?" he teased, his voice dripping with amusement.
Kyra’s cheeks burned with embarrassment. "I wasn’t... I mean, I didn’t mean to..." she mumbled, her words tumbling over each other.
He laughed again, the sound rich and deep. "It’s alright. I suppose I can’t blame you," he said, stepping back and letting his hand drop. "But try to keep your curiosity in check."
Kyra nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and awkwardness. She turned away, trying to compose herself. "I just... I didn’t expect to see you like that," she admitted softly.
With a flash, his body was covered in a blue robe again. He uncovered her eyes and looked at her. "I have prepared food for you, little thing. Come with me," he said, turning around.
Kyra looked at his back and thought for a while before starting to follow him. Her heartbeat was chaotic as she walked behind him into another chamber.
Her eyes fell upon the dining table, and she was surprised to see it there. ’He has this?’ she thought, amazed. After all, She had only seen his nest in the cave before. she hadn’t imagined he would have a dining table.
As they entered the chamber, she noticed the walls adorned with blue flowers, adding a serene beauty to the space. She saw the small old kitchen, simple yet functional.
The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, making her stomach growl. The table was set with plates of steaming dishes.
"Sit," he commanded, his voice softer now, almost gentle. Kyra obeyed, taking a seat at the table. He joined her, sitting across from her, his piercing eyes never leaving her face.
Kyra cautiously picked up a piece of meat, the aroma making her mouth water despite her nerves. She took a small bite and was surprised by how tender and flavorful it was.
"Thank you," she said quietly, her eyes meeting his.
He nodded, watching her with an intense, unreadable expression. "Eat well. You’ll need your strength." he said, his voice still carrying that Sharp edge.
As she continued to eat, Kyra couldn’t help but steal glances at him.
