Chapter 162: Chapter 162 Vinecnt worsening condition
When Damon leaned in, Kyra tensed, ready to push him away, but he surprised her by smiling and gently brushing snow from her shoulder.
"Thanks," Kyra said softly, feeling a bit embarrassed for misinterpreting his intentions.
As Damon dusted the snow from Kyra’s shoulder, his touch lingered for a moment longer than necessary. His eyes held a glint of amusement, as if he knew exactly what she had been thinking.
"You’re welcome, Little thing." Damon replied casually, stepping back slightly to give her space.
Afterwards, Damon cooked food for them, and they sat near the fireplace in chairs.
"Are you really leaving?" Kyra asked.
"Of course, I need to go find your mates. Can you give me your spirit necklace?" he asked.
"Spirit necklace?" Kyra looked at him in confusion as she held up the blood-red necklace on her neck given by Vincent. "Are you talking about this?"
"Yeah," he replied, eyeing the pretty necklace.
Kyra hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly handed it to him. "What will you do with it?"
Damon took the necklace, his gaze lingering on it thoughtfully. "This necklace contains strong spiritual energy. It might help me track down your mates. I’ll find them and bring them back."
Kyra nodded slowly, feeling a mix of apprehension and hope. "Please bring them back safely."
Damon gave her a reassuring smile. "I promise."
Kyra smiled brightly, her happiness evident as Damon assured her he would bring back her mates. Her heartbeat quickened with anticipation, and her lips curled into a genuine smile.
Damon observed her smile as he held the necklace tightly in his hands. He felt a strange connection through the necklace, a warmth that suggested someone on the other side was holding it too. Despite sensing this, he said nothing to Kyra as he stood up.
Kyra looked at him.
"The wood is about to finish. I will go get some; you wait for me here," he said. Kyra nodded, watching him leave.
Outside, Damon examined the necklace with a smirk as he rubbed it with his palm.
"Of course, little thing. I will help you find your mates... but" he sneered.
After he randomly found a tree and cut it with his nails, gathering the wood back to his house, he never felt as he did today, not knowing he would regret every decision in the future.
"You’re back." Kyra opened the door for him and helped him put the wood away.
It was afternoon, and she wasn’t feeling sleepy. She did a little exercise to warm herself up more, and after that, they both went to the bedroom.
Kyra, feeling restless in the bedroom, decided to explore more of the house while Damon remained in their shared room.

Lucas knelt beside Vinecnt, a look of concern etched deeply on his face as he handed him a canteen of water. Vinecnt’s complexion was deathly pale, his lips chapped from the biting winter cold.
"Snakey, I’ve told you before, you should go back to hibernation. Don’t worry about me; I’ll find Kyra," Lucas urged gently, his voice filled with both determination and worry. Vinecnt leaned weakly against a nearby tree, clutching a dark black necklace tightly in his hand.
Winter was the time for snakes like Vinecnt to hibernate. Without proper rest, their immune systems could weaken, making them susceptible to illness. .
Despite the harsh conditions, they had been journeying across the country for weeks and were only halfway through their search.
Through a spirit necklace, they had learned that Kyra was in Celestia, a place known for its beauty but also known for its dangers. The thought of Kyra being there worried them deeply.
"It’s okay, I can handle that.." Vinecnt murmured, his voice strained with weariness as he stared at the necklace in his hand.
Suddenly, his expression shifted, and his eyes sharpened as if trying to penetrate the depths of the dark, warming object.
Lucas, noticing the change in Vinecnt’s aura, grew concerned. "What happened?" he asked softly, watching him intently.
Vinecnt didn’t respond immediately, his gaze locked onto the necklace. Slowly, he raised it closer to his eyes, examining it.
Sweat beaded on his forehead despite the chill of the winter air, a testament to the intensity of his focus.
"I... I can feel something," Vinecnt finally muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "There’s an energy... a presence within this necklace."
Lucas leaned in closer, his own curiosity piqued. "Do you think it’s connected to Kyra?" he asked, his tone hopeful.
"Yes," Vinecnt replied, securing the necklace around his neck and turning to face Lucas. "We should start running again. It’s the best time, with winter causing most beasts to rest. We should be able to cover long distances without much disturbance. We’re already halfway to Emerald Bay, and from there, we can find a path that leads to Celestia."
Lucas nodded in agreement, his determination in his eyes. Without another word, they resumed their journey, their footsteps crunching on the snow-covered ground as they pressed onward toward their goal.
As they began to run, they encountered numerous challenges including wild beasts that were ready to attack them. They fought fiercely, and Lucas felt that he was on the verge of advancing to rank five.
However, as winter progressed More, Vinecnt’s condition worsened. He grew weaker by the day, barely eating any food. Lucas took care of him throughout the journey.
They were determined to keep going until they found their mate.
Despite many beasts resting during winter, they encountered challenges from other Wild Beast, including snow beasts. Currently, they were passing by a polar bear tribe.
Suddenly, a group of polar bears surrounded them with deliberate, slow steps, their massive forms blocking any potential escape routes.
The polar bears moved in slowly, their heavy paws crunching the snow with each step. Lucas and Vinecnt watched as the bears formed a circle around them, blocking their path. The bears’ eyes were fixed on the pair, their breath visible in the cold air.
