Chapter 175: Chapter 175 I miss them

Damon smiled the entire way back, his sharp features softened in a way that made Kyra’s heart flutter.

She didn’t dare to look directly at him because each time she did, he would smirk and tease her.

"Are there no other females in this town?" Kyra asked, curious as She had only met Sandra and Billi.

"Yup! There are around fifteen females in the whole town," Damon replied. "But most of them are weak, so their males take care of them."

Kyra nodded, processing this new information. "So, most of the Beastmen here are Dragons and Winged Lions, right?"

"Most of them," Damon replied, glancing at her with a hint of a smile. "But there are also some other beastmen, like unicorns and griffins."

Kyra’s eyes widened in amazement. "Unicorns? Really?"

Damon chuckled at her excitement. "Yes, really. They’re not as common as they were before the war, but they do exist. They like to stay hidden because their horns are highly valued."

Kyra’s mind buzzed with curiosity. "I can’t believe it. I’ve always thought unicorns were just myths."

"Myths?" Damon raised his brows.

"Oh, nothing. Let’s go," Kyra said, glancing at Damon. Dragons were also mythical creatures, yet they existed in this world. She couldn’t wait to learn more.

"No! Little thing, we still have to purchase food items from the ration center." Damon reminded her. Kyra nodded as they walked together to another area of the market.

The ration center was bustling with activity. Beastmens were trading and bartering for their necessities. 𝔫𝖔𝔳𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝔠𝔬𝖒

The air was filled with the sounds of haggling and the smells of fresh produce and exotic spices.

Damon brought Daily necessities food and took her back home.

Damon boiled hot water for Kyra to bathe while he went into another room with roll of fabric.

There was a study table and chair. He sat there, looked at the fabric, and remembered Kyra’s figure.

Winning the beauty contest wasn’t going to be easy. Every female had to pass three levels. It wasn’t just about clothing style and hairstyle, but also the way they walked and the amount of food they ate.

Females who ate more food were considered healthy and able to breed more, so most males preferred fat females who ate a lot. Not every beastman loved a female for who she was; most of them loved females because they wanted cubs.

He looked at the drawer and opened it. It was still the same as he had left it before: an old graphite pencil and a thick bundle of yellow papers. He took them out and looked at them for a while. He loved designing clothes and felt he was good at it. But at the same time, he didn’t want to sell his creations. Most of his time was spent designing and sewing.

Like every male, he used to be power-hungry, striving to become more powerful and not stopping until he discovered what he truly liked. Although he still dedicated time to combat and hunting, he was already a rank eight male.

Damon’s thoughts were interrupted as he began to sketch out designs for Kyra’s dress. He wanted her to stand out, to show everyone her true beauty. He knew she had the potential to win, not just for her looks but for her strength and spirit. He wanted to make sure her dress highlighted her best features while also being practical and comfortable.

He had never seen any female like her who fought back. He still remembered how she had stood up to him, the force of her punch landing squarely on his jaw. Damon rubbed his jaw, a small smile playing on his lips, as he thought back to that moment. It was one of the things he admired most about her.

Kyra came out of the bath, feeling refreshed. She didn’t see Damon around, so she lay down on the bed, thinking he would join her soon. She held her necklace, kissing it gently as she thought of Vincent and Lucas, hoping they were safe and well wherever they were.

She missed their presence, their laughter, and the way they made her feel whole. As much as she was starting to care for Damon, she couldn’t forget the love she had for Vincent and Lucas.

She closed her eyes, letting her thoughts drift. She imagined them together again, their reunion filled with joy and relief. She pictured Vincent’s strong, comforting embrace, him calling her rainbow and Lucas’s excitement. The thought brought a small smile to her lips, even as a tear slipped down her cheek.

Just then, the door creaked open, and Damon stepped in quietly. He noticed Kyra lying on the bed, her eyes closed and a tear on her cheek. His heart ached at the sight, and he approached her softly, sitting down beside her.

"Little thing," he whispered, gently wiping the tear away with his thumb.

She opened her eyes, looking up at him with a mixture of sadness and hope. "I miss them," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Damon forced a smile, trying to hide his confusion. He didn’t understand what was so special about those males with red swollen noses, but he knew Kyra was different from other females. He wanted to support her, even if he didn’t fully grasp her feelings.

"Don’t worry," he said, his thick, deep voice comforting. "You’ll find them soon."

Kyra felt his voice was nice and soothing, even sensing a unique accent in his tone. She smiled, holding his hand tightly. "Thank you, Damon. It means a lot to me."

He nodded, not fully understanding her attachment to Vincent and Lucas but respecting it. More than anything, he wanted to see her happy.

"Get some rest," he said softly.

Kyra nodded, feeling reassured. She closed her eyes, still holding Damon’s hand, and let herself drift off to sleep.

Damon watched her for a moment, his expression softening. He gently released her hand, then stood up and moved to the other side of the bed. Carefully, he pulled her into his arms, holding her close as she slept peacefully.
