Chapter 194: Chapter 194 Does Damon like her?

Her heart pounded in her chest as she tried to concentrate on the task at hand. She finally managed to turn off the shower, the water stopping abruptly. The sudden silence was deafening, amplifying the tension between them.

"I am going to see Meeko," she said, her voice steadying as she turned and walked out without looking at Damon. Her mind raced as she left the bathroom, and Damon closed his eyes with unclear emotions.

**Emerald Bay**

Inside the dark cave, there was no light at all. The air was cold and damp, making every breath feel heavy.

"What the heck! How did our plans get spoiled?" a horned monster growled, his long, sharp horn looking even more menacing against his rotten, wrinkled skin.

"We...we don’t know," a black shadow replied, its form flickering with dark, eerie energy. "We already sent the infected beastmen there. We don’t know what happened...everyone became normal."

The horned monster’s eyes glowed with rage. "This is unacceptable! We cannot allow our plans to be thwarted. Find out who is responsible and eliminate them."

The black shadow nodded, its form shifting uneasily. "Yes, master. We will find the source of this interference and crush it."

Suddnly another darker shadow appeared, bowing slightly. "Master, I have news about the female you instructed us to monitor"

The horned monster eyes narrowed. "Speak."

The shadow’s form flickered nervously. "She... she unleashed a ball of pure healing energy. Its power was so potent that it reversed the effects of our infection, turning the beastmen back to normal."

The horned monster’s face hardened, his eyes blazing with fury. "What?! How could that female possess such power?" His voice echoed through the forest, making the shadows quiver.

The shadow continued, its voice trembling. "We underestimated her. The energy she used was... pure. It nullified our plans completely."

The horned monster clenched his fists, his long nails digging into his palms. "This changes everything. She is a threat to our plans."

"What do we do, master?" the shadow asked, its form shrinking in fear.

The horned monster’s eyes glowed with a malevolent light.

"We must capture her. She cannot be allowed to interfere any further. If she has such power, she must be controlled or eliminated."

The shadow hesitated. "But, master, she is not alone. There is a powerful dragon beastman with her, protecting her closely."

The horned monster’s lip curled into a sneer. "Then we will use her loved ones against her. Once we have her in our grasp, she will have no choice but to comply."

The shadow nodded, its form solidifying slightly. "As you command, master. We will prepare to capture her and bring her to you."

The horned monster’s voice dropped to a cold whisper. "Make sure it is done swiftly and without failure. I want her power under my control, and I want her to suffer for daring to thwart my plans."

The shadow bowed deeply. "It will be done."

As the shadow disappeared into the darkness, the horned monster’s eyes gleamed with cruel anticipation. He would have Kyra, and her power would become his to command.

The thought of her suffering filled him with a dark satisfaction, fueling his resolve to see his plans succeed at any cost.

After all, that female he had been spying on, the one who mysteriously entered their world through a portal he had created. He had intended to use the portal for his own purposes, but the world laws prevented him from entering it himself. He never expected someone to accidentally fall into it and enter their realm.

Initially, his plan was to kill her, but the unknown energy radiating from her was similar to the power the World Angel used to possess when the world was created.

This intrigued him.

He chose not to kill her immediately but rather to follow her movements closely. He had his subordinates spy on her, unable to kill her but capable of scaring her away from interfering with his plans.

However, he didn’t expect her to thwart his plans. If she hadn’t intervened, all of Celestia might have been under his control by now. Every country, city, town, and tribe would have been destroyed.

Once everyone were under their control and obtained the World Key, they could create their own world and make everyone their slaves. With Benjamin’s support, they had been planning to rule the world.

"This is unacceptable," he growled suddenly, his horned face hardening with anger as he thought of his ruined perfect plan. "That female... she’s more powerful than we anticipated. She has to be dealt with."

A first shadowy figure beside him spoke up. "It was her pure healing energy ball that ruined everything. It contained a power that reversed our infection."

The horned monster’s face twisted in fury. "We must capture her. She’s a threat to our plans."

The shadow nodded. "Yes, if we control her, we control that power. She won’t destroy our plans; she’ll ensure our victory."

"We need to act quickly," the horned monster said, his voice low and dangerous. "I’ll inform Benjamin. In the meantime, prepare our forces."

The shadow retreated to carry out his orders.

After Kyra left the bathroom, she could feel her heart pounding in her chest. n𝚘vp𝚞𝚋.com

She hurried to the theater room, her thoughts swirling.

It was dark and quiet, and she didn’t turn on the lights.

She ran to a corner and slid down against the wall, hugging her knees to her chest. Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts.

Why did Damon have such an effect on her? She had always been strong, independent, and capable. Yet, around him, she felt vulnerable and exposed. The way he looked at her, the intensity in his eyes, made her feel things she wasn’t ready to confront.

She took deep breaths, trying to calm herself. The memory of his touch, the feel of his gaze on her, it all played over and over in her mind. She had to get a grip.

There were more important things at stake than her confusing feelings for Damon. She needed to find Vincent and Lucas, and the dangers outside were still very real.

And does Damon like her?
