Chapter 200: Chapter 200 He was really here
Damon watched in awe as the Large Snake took down the monsters one by one. His poison was lethal; with every bite, a life was ended. The efficiency of his deadly work was remarkable.
Kyra’s mate.
Damon didn’t pretend otherwise—he was grateful for the snake’s presence. In their dire situation, escaping on their own had been impossible.
Yet, a strange feeling lingered, as though something precious was being torn away. He landed on the cold, blood-soaked Snow floor, surrounded by the grim remains of the battle. 𝘯𝑜𝑣𝑝𝑢𝘣.𝑐𝑜𝑚
As the last monster fell, the Feral Snake turned his attention towards Damon, shifted in his half-snake form. His nose wasn’t swollen or red, and he wasn’t as hideous as Damon had expected from the photo he’d seen.
Instead, he was strikingly beautiful in a dangerous way. His black hair fell to his shoulders, and the scars on his face only added to his rugged allure. His red eyes and rough appearance created a powerful impression that was hard to ignore.
Vincent walked toward Damon, shifting into his human form. He then gently picked Kyra up from his back.
Finally, he looked at Damon and Meeko. "Follow me," he said and started to slither away.
Damon followed, observing the snake closely. Despite being one rank lower than him, the snake seemed to have more experience and a powerful aura.
Vincent, unaware of his thoughts, felt a deep ache in his heart as he saw Kyra fainted. Some of her fur was soaked with blood, indicating she was injured.
Vincent and Lucas had split up to search for Kyra, agreeing to meet in town if they didn’t find her by sunset.
Soon, they reached the town, and Vincent, not wanting to waste any time, asked Damon urgently, "Where is your healer’s house?"
Damon pointed down a narrow, winding street. "That way."
Vincent didn’t hesitate. He hurried down the street with Kyra in his arms, ignoring the curious glances of passersby.
The healer’s house was a two story cottage.
Without knocking, Vincent pushed the door open and entered. The room was crowded with injured Beastmen. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and the quiet moans of the wounded. Beds and temporary makeshift cots lined the walls, each occupied by a patient in various states of injury.
Healer Angelo looked up from treating a young Beastman with a bandaged leg. When he saw Vincent carrying Kyra, his eyes widened in relief and surprise.
"Oh my god," Angelo gasped, hurrying over. "How did you get hurt?"
"Stop the nonsense and treat my rainbow," Vincent shouted, his voice edged with desperation.
Angelo quickly composed himself. "Take her upstairs, last room on the right," he instructed. "I’ll be right behind you."
Without wasting a second, Vincent hurriedly carried Kyra up the narrow staircase, Meeko and Damon following closely behind. The steps creaked under their weight, but they moved quickly, driven by urgency. The upstairs hallway was dimly lit, with doors lining both sides. Vincent found the last room on the right and pushed the door open with his shoulder.
The room was sparsely furnished but clean. A single bed stood against the wall, covered with fresh linens. Vincent gently laid Kyra on the bed, his hands shaking slightly with worry. Meeko stood by her side, his eyes wide with tears, silently praying for her recovery. Damon leaned against the wall, wincing from his own injuries but keeping his focus on Kyra.
Healer Angelo entered the room moments later, carrying a small bag of tools. He moved quickly, setting his supplies on a nearby table. As he approached Kyra, he hesitated, examining her thick fur.
"I need to trim her fur to treat her. If she turns into her human form, it would be much easier," Angelo said hesitantly.
"No!" Damon and Vincent shouted at the same time. Vincent flashed a cold gaze at Damon before turning back to the healer.
"Treat this Beastman first. I want to be alone with my female for a while," Vincent said coldly to healer, his eyes fixed on Damon.
Angelo nodded in understanding, signaling to Meeko, who also understood and walked outside.
Damon didn’t want to leave Kyra and kept glancing back at her. Vincent’s hands clenched seeing Damon’s lingering gaze on her. He moved his body to shield Kyra from Damon’s view, asserting his protective stance.
"Leave us," Vincent ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument. Reluctantly, Damon followed Meeko out of the room, casting one last worried look at Kyra before the door closed behind him.
When everyone left Vincent alone with Kyra, he walked toward her, his eyes filled with pain.
"I am sorry, rainbow..." he muttered, suddenly pinching a spot near her back.
"Ahh!" Kyra shouted, waking up with tears in her eyes. She stood up on all fours, her gaze locking onto Vincent.
SHE SAW VINCENT!
He was really here!
She couldn’t believe her eyes. She remembered fainting and feared she was dreaming.
Seeing her excitement, Vincent’s gaze softened.
"You’re not dreaming, my rainbow," he whispered. Kyra tried to jump on him, but he gently held her back. "No, you’re injured, rainbow..." he said, kissing her forehead. "I love you."
Kyra barked back, I love you too.
Vincent half-smiled. "You should shift into your human form. The healer couldn’t treat you properly because of your fur, or we’ll have to trim it." Hearing him, Kyra’s eyes widened, and she shifted into her human form.
Suddenly, Vincent took a sharp breath, his heart feeling as if it were being poked by needles. He saw the wounds on her shoulder, stomach, waist, and thighs.
No real male ever cries. Vincent controlled himself.
"Rainbow..." his voice was filled with emotion. He didn’t know what to say.
"Cover..." Kyra looked at him and around for clothes.
Realizing her need, he laid her comfortably on the bed. "Wait for me, I’ll get you some," he said, rushing to the door. As he opened it, he saw some Beastmen holding loose clothes, looking at him.
Vincent nodded, took the clothes, and closed the door. "Rainbow...here are some clothes," he said, handing them to her.
Kyra took the clothes and dressed quickly with Vincent help, her eyes never leaving his face. He helped her get comfortable again, his heart aching but relieved to be with her.
"Where is my silly wolf"
