Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Intense battle (2)
Meeko was scared, he didn’t know where to hide. Kyra ran toward him, and he flew to her, his eagle golden eyes dilated with tears. He wanted to complain and hide behind his pretty sister little thing.
Kyra used her snout to comfort him, and Meeko looked slightly relieved. But when Kyra turned, she saw Damon growing weaker. Her eyes flashed with worry—where could she hide Meeko? The trees around them were ruined, offering no safe place.
"Watch behind you, little thing!" Damon shouted suddenly.
His claws dug into the creature’s throat as he bit it, knocking it off balance.
The ground shook with the impact of the creature’s heavy weight. Damon flew toward Kyra, seeing another creature sneaking up behind her.
Kyra already sensed the movement. She quickly hid Meeko behind her and, using her ability, made thunder appear in mid-air. Controlling it with her mind, she hurled a heavy wave of it into the air.
However, this creature had big eyes, armored skin, and rotten flesh. Its skin was much thicker than the others.
The thunder wave hit the creature, causing it to stagger but not fall.
Kyra’s eyes widened in shock. The creature roared, its deep, guttural sound resonating through the forest.
Damon, seeing Kyra in danger, lunged at the creature with renewed vigor. His claws slashed at its armored skin, but it seemed impervious to his attacks.
Kyra’s mind raced. She had to think of something fast. She gathered all her strength, focusing her energy. With a fierce determination, she unleashed another, more powerful wave of thunder. 𝚗ov𝚙𝚞𝚋.c𝚘m
This time, the energy crackled and sizzled, striking the creature with immense force.
The creature let out a pained howl, but it still stood. Damon continued to fight, his movements becoming more desperate. He couldn’t let this creature harm Kyra and Meeko.
Kyra’s body began to feel the strain of using so much power. Her muscles ached, and her vision blurred. But she couldn’t give up. Not now. She glanced at Meeko, who was flying behind her, his eyes wide with fear. She had to protect him.
Gathering her last reserves of strength, Kyra charged at the creature. She leaped into the air, her form shifting and contorting.
Her beastly body collided with the creature, and she dug her claws into its thick hide. The creature roared again, but Kyra held on, pouring every ounce of her power into the attack.
Damon took advantage of the creature’s distraction. He circled around and attacked from behind, his claws finding a weak spot in the creature’s armor. With a powerful bite, he tore into the creature’s flesh, causing it to thrash and roar in agony.
Kyra’s vision blurred even more, but she could feel the creature weakening. She dug her claws deeper, her body trembling with exhaustion.
Damon continued his relentless assault, and together, they managed to bring the creature down.
The creature fell to the ground with a heavy thud, its body twitching before finally going still. Kyra collapsed beside it, her breath coming in ragged gasps.
Damon shifted back to his human form, bloodied and bruised, and stumbled toward her.
"Little thing," he whispered, his voice filled with concern.
She looked up at him, her eyes filled with relief.
Damon reached out to touch her. "You were amazing," he said softly. Then he stood up, looking around for anything that could help Kyra.
Kyra managed a weak nod.
Meeko, shifted in his human form, cautiously approached Kyra, who remained in her beast form.
Her furred body lay on the ground, sides heaving from the exertion of the fight, she closed her eyes again. Meeko’s golden eyes were filled with worry as he approached her closer, his human form trembling with fear and exhaustion.
"Sister?" he whispered, his voice quivering.
Kyra’s eyes fluttered open for a moment. Catching sight of Meeko, she stood up on all fours and managed a weak, reassuring growl, trying to comfort him even as her own strength was failing. Meeko nuzzled against her fur, seeking comfort and safety.
But just as he touched her, Kyra’s body suddenly went limp. Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted, collapsing fully onto the ground. The energy she had expended in the fight had finally taken its toll.
"Little thing!" Damon shouted, his voice full of panic as he rushed over.
He quickly knelt beside her, his hands hovering over her furred form, unsure of what to do. She had pushed herself too hard, and now she was unconscious.
Damon’s heart pounded with fear for her.
"Meeko, stay close," he commanded, his voice steadying as he took control of the situation.
Meeko, eyes wide with fear and tears, huddled close to Kyra’s beastly form. Damon examined her, looking for any signs of serious injury. Despite her exhaustion, she seemed to be breathing steadily, just completely drained.
"We need to get her somewhere safe and treated," Damon muttered to himself, his heart aching at the sight of her condition.
Suddenly, growls echoed around them. Damon’s body shook as he turned and saw the same beasts that had attacked earlier, destroying everything in their path. Panic surged through him.
He was already injured and exhausted, but he knew he had to protect Kyra and Meeko.
As the beasts charged, Damon shifted into a dragon. Using his mouth, he gently held Kyra and placed her on his back. Meeko, already shifted into an eagle, flew onto Damon’s back as well.
Damon took off into the sky, even though every beat of his wings sent waves of pain through his body. He struggled to stay airborne, his senses on high alert.
Just then, hulking creatures from another direction surrounded him. Damon tried to fly higher, but one beast’s hand reached toward him.
He swerved, narrowly avoiding the grasp, but another was closing in fast. He had to be careful; Kyra lay unconscious on his back, and Meeko clung to her, terrified.
Suddenly, a large, dark-scaled snake coiled around one of the beasts attacking him. Damon heard the sickening sound of bones cracking as the snake constricted it’s body.
