Chapter 198: Chapter 198 Intense battle (1)
Before they could ponder this revelation further, a loud screech pierced the air. They both looked up to see the sky darkening, covered by a swarm of the same creatures they had faced earlier.
"They’ve found us," Damon said, his voice tense. "We need to hide."
Kyra grabbed Meeko, who was now awake and frightened, and led him behind to thick tree covered in snow. "Stay here and don’t move," she told him firmly. "We’ll protect you."
Damon shifted back into his dragon form, ready to fight, while Kyra stood beside him. The creatures swooped down, their eyes glowing with malice.
Damon started fighting, his powerful tail and claws tearing through the creatures. But there were too many, and for every one he defeated, two more took its place.
Kyra focused, trying to harness the power she had felt earlier. She raised her hands, and this time, she could feel the energy flowing more freely, responding to her will. She sent out a wave of thunderous force, knocking several creatures out of the sky.
But the creatures were relentless. One managed to slash Damon’s shoulder, and another clawed at Kyra’s arm. Blood trickled down her skin, but she ignored the pain, concentrating on protecting Meeko and Damon.
Suddenly, a particularly large creature lunged at Kyra, its claws aimed at her throat. She reacted instinctively, summoning a burst of lightning that struck the creature mid-air, sending it crashing to the ground.
Damon, though injured, continued to fight fiercely. His movements were becoming slower, more labored. Kyra realized they couldn’t keep this up forever.
"Meeko, stay hidden!" Kyra called out, her voice carrying over the chaos. She focused all her energy, feeling it build and grow within her. With a determined shout, she released a massive wave of Thunderous energy, throwing creature backwards.
Kyra’s body trembled as she unleashed a massive thunderous wave, sending a powerful shockwave through the clearing. The energy drained her, and she felt her legs wobble beneath her. She could barely stand, her breath coming in ragged gasps. But seeing the creatures disintegrate, she knew it was worth it. They had managed to eliminate many of the threats.
Just as relief began to settle in, the ground shook with a heavy thud. Kyra’s heart sank as she looked up to see hulking creatures emerging from the forest. These were different—larger, more dangerous, with thick, armored skin and eyes glowing with malevolent intelligence.
"Damon!" she Shouted, but Damon was already in motion. Despite his injuries, he charged at the creatures, his dragon form a blur of claws and teeth. Bloodied and battered, Damon fought with a ferocity that left Kyra in awe.
Kyra knew she had to help. Summoning every ounce of strength, she shifted into her beast form. Her body morphed into frostlyn, her eyes glowing with determination. She launched herself at the nearest creature, her claws raking across its armored hide.
The battle was intense. Damon and Kyra fought side by side, their movements synchronized in a deadly dance.
Kyra’s heart pounded as she slashed and bit, her instincts guiding her every move. But the creatures were relentless. One of them, larger and more formidable than the others, grabbed a massive tree and swung it like a club.
Kyra’s eyes widened in horror as the tree crashed down towards Meeko where he was hidding.
"Meeko, run!" she screamed in but what come out was bark of her Beast.
Meeko shifted into his small eagle form and tried to fly away, but the hulking creature was quick. Its massive hand snatched Meeko out of the air, and it brought him close to its mouth, preparing to devour him.
"Growl! NO!" Kyra cried, her voice echoing through the clearing. She felt a surge of power and desperation. Without thinking, she jumped high at the creature, her body moving on pure instinct. She leaped, her claws extended, aiming for the creature’s eyes.
Damon, seeing the danger, fought even harder, his roars shaking the trees. He lunged at the creature holding Meeko, sinking his teeth into its arm. The creature bellowed in pain, dropping Meeko to the ground. The little eagle tumbled but quickly righted himself, his wings flapping frantically as he tried to escape.
Kyra landed a powerful blow, her claws gouging deep into the creature’s face as she balanced herself on his shoulder.
It roared, stumbling backward, but Kyra didn’t relent. She kept attacking, her fury giving her strength. She bit and clawed, ignoring the pain in her own body.
The creature finally fell and kyra jumped from his body to ground.
its massive form crashing to the ground. Kyra panted, her chest heaving as she looked around. Damon was still fighting, his body covered in cuts and bruises, but he was holding his own. She turned her attention to the remaining creatures.
They had to end this.
Gathering her remaining energy, Kyra charged at another creature. She fought with everything she had, her movements becoming more precise, more deadly. Damon joined her, their combined efforts pushing the creatures back.
The battle seemed endless. For every creature they defeated, another took its place. But Kyra refused to give up. She fought with a determination born of desperation, her thoughts focused on protecting Meeko and Damon.
Suddenly, another creature broke through their defenses, heading straight for Meeko, who was huddled behind a rock.
Kyra’s heart leaped into her throat. She tried to reach him, but the creature was too fast. It grabbed Meeko, its huge hands crushing the rock he was hiding behind.
Meeko shifted back to his eagle form, trying to escape, but the creature caught him. It lifted him to its mouth, ready to devour him. Kyra’s vision blurred with tears. She couldn’t let this happen. With a primal scream, she summoned all her power and sent a massive bolt of lightning at the creature.
The creature convulsed, dropping Meeko as the lightning coursed through its body. It fell to the ground, twitching, as Meeko scrambled away, his small eagle body trembling.
