Chapter 207: Chapter 207 We need to do something
Lucas and Vinecnt, still bristling with jealousy, couldn’t help but soften at the sight of Meeko’s pure adoration for Kyra.
Damon watched the scene with a small, hidden smile, his usual Sharp aura momentarily replaced with a gentler expression.
"You’re our Angel, little thing." Damon said, his voice warm but still carrying that hint of possessiveness that made Lucas and Vinecnt grit their teeth.
"She’s not just strong," Lucas added, stepping closer and placing a hand on Kyra’s shoulder. "She’s also kind and brave. We’re all lucky to have her."
Vinecnt nodded.
Meeko beamed up at Kyra, his eyes wide with admiration. "I want to be strong like you when I grow up!"
Kyra laughed softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You’re going to be stronger than me in the future. Don’t forget about me then," she teased.
"Of course, I will always remember you," Meeko said, patting his chest proudly.
"Good luck, little buddy," Lucas said, giving Meeko a thumbs up. Meeko blushed at the praise and looked up at Lucas with wide eyes.
Lucas noticed Meeko’s reaction and couldn’t help but smirk. It seemed that Meeko had a keen eye for handsome faces, given his admiration for him over Vinecnt and Damon. Lucas felt a swell of pride, thinking that Meeko’s taste might be impeccable.
"Do you have a mirror in your house?" Lucas asked Damon, his tone a mix of arrogance and smugness. He seemed eager to admire his own reflection.
Damon raised an eyebrow, "A mirror? I suppose I do. Why?"
Lucas adjusted his posture, trying to look more confident. "Just curious. I need to make sure my appearance is as perfect as it can be."
Vinecnt, observing the interaction, shook his head in disbelief. "Seriously, Wolf? This is not the time for vanity."
Lucas shrugged, a grin on his face. "Hey, a handsome face deserves a good look once in a while."
Vinecnt sighed, resigned to the fact that he’d have to get used to Lucas’s antics.
Kyra, still smiling, pulled Lucas closer. "No need for a mirror. Let me see your face. I haven’t seen it in months," she said, as she gently took his face in her hands.
Lucas looked slightly taken aback but didn’t resist. Kyra’s touch was tender, and as she studied his face, her heart began to race.
The close proximity made her acutely aware of how much she had missed him. Her eyes softened, and she smiled warmly, her gaze lingering on his features.
Lucas, feeling the intensity of her gaze, couldn’t help but smile back, his expression becoming more sincere.
As Kyra held Lucas’s face in her hands, Damon watched, his expression darkening.
His eyes narrowed, and a tightness gripped his chest as he observed the intimate moment between Kyra and Lucas. The warmth between them only served to heighten his own simmering jealousy.
"Little thing," Damon said, his voice colder than intended, "you should change into something comfortable. I’ll prepare hot water for you to relax."
"Thank you, Damon," Kyra said sincerely. She felt guilty, as if she were taking advantage of him.
Damon nodded and turned abruptly, his mind churning with frustration and envy as he left the room to tend to the hot water.
Vinecnt watched Damon’s retreating figure with a smirk. He knew that Kyra’s bond with Them was strong and not easily broken, regardless of Damon’s feelings.
Once Damon finished preparing the hot water, Kyra went to bathe. Lucas and Vinecnt exchanged glances, the atmosphere charged with unspoken tension. Meeko, sitting quietly next to them, watched their interaction with wide, curious eyes. 𝓃ℴ𝓋𝓹𝓊𝓫.𝒸𝓸𝓂
"What do you think?" Lucas asked, breaking the silence.
"We need to do something," Vinecnt replied, his gaze steady and meaningful. His tone suggested that there were plans to be made.
Lucas and Vinecnt exchanged a knowing glance. Lucas’s expression hardened as he clenched his fist. "Of course! Or else it will be too late to cry."
Meeko looked up at them, puzzled he didn’t understand adult world.
Vinecnt sighed, his gaze shifting to the floor. "Things are not going to stay the same. We need to act before it’s too late."
Lucas nodded in agreement. "Yeah, if we don’t do something now, we might end up regretting it later."
Meeko’s confusion deepened as he tried to make sense of their words.
Vinecnt stood up from the bed with a determined expression. "Let’s see, I’m going to help Rainbow."
Before Lucas could react, Vinecnt dashed out toward bathroom. "No, I am!" Lucas yelled, rushing after him.
Despite Lucas’s speed, Vinecnt reached the bathroom door first. He flung it open with a loud bang and stepped inside, shutting the door behind him.
Kyra, who had forgotten to lock the door securely, was startled. She stood there in her clothes, her expression shifting from shock to confusion. "Vince! What’s wrong?" she asked, her voice a mix of surprise and concern.
Lucas, arriving a moment later, shouted through the door, "VINCE!!!! VINCE!!!!"
Outside, Lucas grumbled to himself. "Damn it! Snaky, you snatched my chance. Just wait and see how I handle you," he muttered under his breath, his frustration evident.
Turning around, he noticed Meeko looking up at him with curious eyes. "Hey, little buddy!" Lucas said with a cheerfulness. "Let’s go outside for a bit." He extended his hand, and Meeko placed his tiny hand in Lucas’s.
As they descended the stairs, Lucas asked, "So, Meeko, what’s your story? How did you end up here?"
Meeko looked up at him, his eyes misty. "My daddy and my beast mom came here for a beauty contest. My mom escaped away with another daddy, but my daddy fell behind to protect me. And then we got separated. I miss my daddy so much," he explained, his voice trembling as tears threatened to fall.
Lucas listened, his expression softening. "I’m sorry you’re going through this, Meeko. We’ll do our best to help you find your daddy," He said reassuringly as he walked towards the sofa where Damon was sitting, and Damon, who had heard their conversation, his curiosity was piqued. "Little guy, what’s your beast mother’s name?"
"lara," Meeko replied, his voice soft.
Damon furrowed his brow, trying to recall any details about her in contest.
Lara wasn’t particularly remarkable in his memory, but she had been somewhat popular among the beast he didn’t pay much attention to her.
Isn’t she the female who fell off the beam during the contest?
"Lara," Damon repeated, lost in thought. "I’ll keep that in mind. We’ll see if we can find out more about her or your dad."
