Chapter 248: Chapter 248 No more fear(2)
"Kyra."
Her eyes fluttered open again. She rubbed them sleepily, not fully awake. "Hmm..." she mumbled.
"Kyra."
"Hmmm..." she responded, groggily.
Then, her Beast’s voice screamed in her mind, panicked and desperate: ’Don’t answer back, Kyra! Don’t answer back!’
Kyra’s heart skipped a beat as she suddenly froze. Her eyes widened with fear as realization struck her. Her Beast’s warning echoed in her mind, and with it came a deep sense of dread.
"What..." she began, but her voice faltered when the atmosphere around her shifted violently. The room’s warmth was sucked away, replaced by a bitter cold that chilled her to the bone. The once-dark room transformed, bathed in an eerie, unnatural red glow that seemed to pulse with malevolent energy.
She scrambled up in bed, her eyes darting around as panic rose in her chest. "Luca! Damon! Wake up!" she shouted, her voice trembling with fear. She reached out to shake them, but they didn’t stir. They remained eerily still, as if trapped in some otherworldly slumber.
Kyra gasped, her breath caught in her throat as she felt something cold and suffocating wrap around her neck. It was malevolent, like the fingers of a ghost, tightening their grip with every passing second. Her body was yanked from the bed as if invisible hands had seized her, pulling her to the center of the room with violent force. She hit the floor hard, the impact rattling through her bones, but the darkness didn’t relent.
The shadow wrapped around her throat, its presence thick and oily, squeezing tighter with every second. It was like nothing she had ever felt—alive, malicious, and determined to drain the life out of her. She clawed at her neck, her nails scraping against something that wasn’t quite there, but her hands found nothing.
If you hear your name whispered from a dark corner—never respond, or you’ll invite something you can’t see to follow you forever.
The old horror rumor rang in her mind. Kyra’s pulse pounded in her ears as the grip around her neck tightened. Her vision blurred as tears welled up in her eyes, her breaths coming in short, desperate gasps.
"Luca... Damon..." she croaked, her voice barely audible, her strength fading fast.
The shadow’s grip grew tighter, as if it was feeding off her fear, and Kyra’s world started to blur into darkness. The sinister presence loomed closer, whispering her name again in that same raspy voice, filling the room with a cold, deadly tension.
However, something deep inside Kyra stirred—a surge of defiance. She wasn’t about to let this shadow or any other presence claim her. The fear that had gripped her heart moments ago was suddenly replaced with a burning resolve. It was enough. Enough of feeling terrified, enough of being hunted by the dark. She wasn’t a helpless girl anymore.
If this shadow thought it could frighten her into submission, it was about to face a harsh reality.
No more fear.
Her eyes, once wide with fear, narrowed with icy determination. She wasn’t going to cower anymore. The cold grip around her neck still squeezed, but Kyra inhaled deeply, channeling every ounce of strength and anger left inside her. Her fingers stopped clawing at the invisible force, instead, they began to crackle with energy. Her Beast might have been asleep, but her powers weren’t.
"Enough," Kyra hissed through gritted teeth, her voice filled with resolve. Her eyes flashed with a cold brilliance as she allowed the power of her thunder ability to surge through her veins.
She could feel the energy gathering, building up inside her like a storm. The room trembled with her rising power, and the shadow that had dared to attack her hesitated for a brief moment, sensing the change.
"You want to scare me?" Kyra growled, her voice cold and fierce. "You’ll regret that."
With a swift motion, she unleashed a burst of raw energy. A loud crack of thunder echoed through the room as electric sparks shot from her hands, striking the shadow. The invisible force that had been choking her let go, recoiling as the room pulsed with energy. 𝔫𝖔𝔳𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝔠𝔬𝖒
The dark red glow began to flicker, and Kyra stood up, eyes blazing with cold fire. She could feel the power coursing through her, her fear melting away into pure determination.
"You’re not the only one who knows how to haunt," she spat, watching as the shadow quivered. She stepped forward, her presence growing stronger, more commanding. "You should be the one scared of me."
The shadow began to retreat, slowly dissolving into the dark corners it had come from. It had made a mistake coming after her, and now, it was paying for it. Kyra’s power, her will to survive, her refusal to back down—it was more terrifying than any shadow could ever be.
And she was just getting started.
Kyra felt the electricity hum beneath her skin, the crackling energy radiating from her core, growing stronger with each passing second. She could see the shadow retreating, trying to melt back into the dark corners from which it came. But Kyra wasn’t going to let it get away so easily. Not this time.
The room seemed to pulse with her power as she raised her hands, summoning the pure energy of her thunder ability. The air around her vibrated, shimmering with electric sparks. Her eyes were focused, sharp with the intent to destroy whatever this shadow was. It wouldn’t leave here alive—or rather, intact.
She clenched her fists, feeling the energy swell, pure and powerful, in her hands. The shadow, sensing her growing strength, made a desperate move, lunging toward her in one final attempt to snuff her out.
But Kyra was ready.
With a swift motion, she thrust her hands forward, releasing a concentrated bolt of thunder that ripped through the air with a deafening crack. The room lit up with a blinding flash of electric blue light as the bolt collided with the shadow. It shrieked in agony, a high-pitched, distorted sound that echoed through the walls.
