Chapter 284: Chapter 284 Wierd

Kyra narrowed her eyes at Sandra and smirked. "Oh, Sandra, it seems like you’re all talk and no action. If you’re really the queen here, you should be able to handle me staying here, shouldn’t you? I’m going to make myself quite comfortable, just like everyone else."

Sandra’s face flushed with anger. "How dare you!" she spat. "You think you can just waltz in here and make demands? I am the queen of this place, and I will not tolerate your presence."

Kyra leaned in, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Well, if you’re so powerful, why don’t you prove it? I’m sure you’ll figure out a way to get rid of me if you really want to. Until then, I’m going to enjoy my stay here."

Sandra’s anger reached a boiling point. "Get out of my way!" she snapped at her mate. "Throw her out! I am the only queen here, and I won’t have anyone challenging my authority."

Her mate looked conflicted, glancing between Sandra and Kyra. "But Benjamin—"

"No excuses!" Sandra cut him off. "Throw her out immediately!"

Her mates hesitated but then reluctantly nodded. "Alright, Sandra."

But before they could get too close, Joy stepped in front of them, blocking their path.

"You can’t throw her out," he said firmly, his freckled face serious. "She’s under Benjamin’s protection."

Sandra narrowed her eyes at him. "Move aside, Joy. You’re not her mate. Why are you even trying to stop this?"

Joy held his ground, his brown eyes locking with Sandra’s furious gaze. "Because this is Benjamin’s decision, not yours," he replied, his sweet voice steady. "She stays, and that’s final."

Sandra let out an exasperated huff. "How dare you defy me? I’m the queen here!"

Kyra, watching the exchange, couldn’t help but smirk again. "It seems even your own people don’t take you seriously, Sandra. Maybe you’re not as powerful as you think."

Sandra’s face turned red with rage. She spun around to face her mates, who were now hesitating.

In a fit of frustration, Sandra angrily bit one of the her mates hands again.

"Throw this dirt out of the castle!" she shouted, pointing a trembling finger at Kyra. "I am the only queen here!"

But her mates didn’t move. Joy stood firm, his expression serious. "No, Sandra. You’re overstepping. Go back to your room."

Sandra glared at him, then at Kyra, her chest heaving with anger. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but she realized she had no choice but to back down, at least for now. With one last venomous look at Kyra, Sandra turned and stormed out of the room, leaving behind a tense silence.

Kyra watched her leave with a triumphant gleam in her eye. "Well, that was fun," she said softly, turning her gaze to Joy. "Thanks for the help, joy."

Joy only nodded, looking slightly flustered. "Don’t provoke her too much," he warned quietly. "She’s dangerous when she’s cornered."

Kyra gave him a sly smile. "Oh, I’m counting on it."

***TWO DAYS LATER***

It had been two long days since Kyra was brought to this place, and during that time, everything felt eerily quiet. The owl boy, Joy, hadn’t spoken a single word to her since his initial warning. He merely watched her from a distance, perched by the window or silently shifting into his owl form, keeping an eye on her but never engaging.

Benjamin hadn’t approached her either, which was strange. He had been so bold before, even daring to cross boundaries, and now...nothing. As for Sandra, after her dramatic tantrum, she too had stayed away. It was almost too quiet.

Wired, right?

Kyra paced the room, her mind working through the unsettling silence. This wasn’t a coincidence. This had to be Benjamin’s doing. He must have told them to stay away. But why? What was he planning? Keeping her isolated like this wasn’t just about keeping her locked up—it was about control, manipulation. He was letting her stew, making her restless, keeping her on edge.

Her eyes shifted to the window, where thick fog still rolled across the landscape, hiding any potential dangers. She didn’t know this place or trust anyone here, which only made her more determined to find a way out.

"Must be Benjamin’s idea," she muttered under her breath, her fists clenching. He was playing some sort of game with her, trying to break her spirit. But she wouldn’t let him.

She would use this silence to her advantage, plan her next move carefully. She wasn’t just going to sit around waiting for them to come for her. No, Kyra was going to figure out how to beat them at their own game.

Her mind raced as she thought of ways to escape, But this strange calm made her uneasy. She was a fighter, but this was different—this was psychological warfare. Benjamin was playing a twisted game of waiting her out, trying to make her crack.

But Kyra wasn’t one to break easily. If anything, the quiet only fueled her desire to escape, to see Damon, Vincent and Lucas again. The memory of Damon’s worried face kept her grounded, reminding her that she couldn’t let Benjamin win. She had to outsmart him, and that meant staying sharp, not letting the silence get to her.

She turned away from the window and began pacing the room. The owl boy, Joy, continued his silent watch, but Kyra could feel his eyes on her. It was creepy, but she tried to push it aside. Joy was just a pawn in all of this, likely doing what he was told. He seemed sweet in his own way, but he was still part of the Ghost Eye Group, and she couldn’t trust him.

And then there was Sandra. Kyra had noticed how much Sandra despised her, which could work to her advantage. Sandra’s jealousy was intense, and Kyra could use that. If she could provoke Sandra just enough, perhaps she could stir up enough chaos to find an opening for her escape. It was risky, but Kyra was willing to take that chance.
