Chapter 286: Chapter 286 Vicious scheme

Benjamin’s voice was soft, almost affectionate as he answered, "Damon. The dragon."

The monster’s smirk twisted into something darker, his eyes gleaming with wicked anticipation. "Ah, yes, that dragon... Damon. We’ll clip his wings, and once we have his power, the World Key will be ours. It’ll be so much easier to extract it once he’s helpless-without those wings, he’s just another beast ready for slaughter."

Kyra’s blood ran cold. She clenched her fists, resisting the urge to lunge at the creature and tear him apart with her bare hands. They were planning to use her use her unborn child-as part of their twisted scheme and Damon. The very thought made her sick, rage boiling beneath her skin. She was nothing more than a pawn to them, a tool in their dark plan to harness the power of the World Key. And Damon... they wanted to mutilate him, break him, and steal his power.

Kyra’s heart pounded in her chest, her fury barely contained. She wouldn’t allow this. She couldn’t. They thought they could use her, use her baby, and bring harm to the people she loved? They had no idea who they were dealing with. 𝘯𝑜𝘷𝘱𝘶𝘣.𝘤𝘰𝑚

Her eyes locked with Benjamin’s, and for a split second, she saw something in his gaze-something twisted, yet almost admiring. He smiled gently, as though he was proud of her for being so important to their plan.

Kyra’s stomach churned, but she held his gaze without flinching, her voice steady as she spoke, her defiance clear. "You’ll regret this," she said coldly, her voice low but filled with dangerous coldness. "Every last one of you."

The monster only laughed harder, a deep, grating sound that filled the room with malice. "Regret? Oh, little Angel, you’re in no position to make threats." He glanced at Benjamin, his amusement barely contained. "Soon enough, you’ll see. You and that dragon will be nothing but stepping stones in our path."

Kyra swallowed hard, her mind racing with thoughts of escape, of fighting back. She couldn’t afford to lose. Not now. Not with so much on the line. She would find a way to save herself and her child. She had to.

"And Benjamin, prepare to move her to our place tomorrow. We need to take her somewhere... The world key is almost in our grasp," he said with a laugh.

As the horned monster and Benjamin left, Kyra’s heart sank. Their plans were even more threatening than she had feared. The thought of using her to obtain the world key terrified her, but it also strengthened her resolve to escape and destroy this nasty group.

Joy soon brought a meager meal: dry bread, salt, and fried onions. The food was unappetizing, but Kyra ate it, determined to keep her baby nourished. Each bite felt like a small sacrifice for her child’s sake.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she rubbed her stomach gently, her mind racing with thoughts of her baby. "My little one, will you be Mama’s princess or Mama’s boy?" she murmured, a mix of hope and uncertainty in her voice. A smile touched her lips. "What if you’re a wolf? Or a snake... I can’t wait to see if you’re little Vince or little Luca."

Her thoughts drifted to her loved ones and At just 18, she was committed to being a loving mother, unlike her own experience of growing up without a mother. She whispered promises to her baby, vowing to protect and cherish it despite the challenges ahead.

The room was dim, and the silence felt heavy. Every creak of the old castle seemed amplified, a constant reminder of her captivity. Yet, in her heart, Kyra felt a flicker of hope. She knew she had to stay strong, not just for herself, but for her baby.

Taking a deep breath, Kyra focused on her next steps. She needed to escape Benjamin and the Ghost Eye group. Their plans for the world key were dangerous, and she couldn’t let them succeed. Her baby depended on her strength and resilience, and she was determined not to let them down.

Kyra used the washroom, her mind racing with anxiety about thair unknown plans for the next day. Back in her room, she sat on the bed, trying once more to reach Kaia. "Kaia... Kaia..." she whispered, but her calls were met with silence.

Joy’s gaze was a constant source of irritation. He kept staring at her and her stomach, making her more uncomfortable. Her patience wearing thin, she addressed him with a frosty tone.

"Can you leave me? I am uncomfortable with your presence. I will not try to escape."

Joy’s face fell as heartache flashed in his eyes. His normally bright honey-brown eyes grew misty, and his ears drooped. He shifted back to his human form, his heart aching from her coldness. "Sure," he said softly, his voice barely audible. He walked out of the room, standing outside the door and biting his lip in frustration.

Benjamin had only instructed him to guard her from outside the room. He himself remained inside to observe her, feeling conflicted now that he knew she was pregnant.

Joy stood outside Kyra’s room, struggling with his own feelings. The hallway was dark, and the shadows seemed to go on forever. The quiet was only broken by distant sounds from others in the castle.

His mind was full of doubts. Benjamin had told him to watch Kyra, but now that he knew she was pregnant, he felt uneasy. He had always been loyal, but seeing Kyra so tense made him question what he was doing and now it felt wrong.

Joy walked back and forth, his footsteps soft as he thought. He had always tried to do the right thing, but this didn’t feel right. The memory of Kyra’s Cold face and knowing she was pregnant made it hard for him to focus.

Benjamin’s plans were harsh, and Kyra was just part of a bigger, darker plan. But Joy’s conscience kept telling him to think again about being involved. Was he okay with standing by while Kyra and her baby were used in this dangerous plot?

Leaning against the wall, Joy thought hard, trying to find a way out of this mess. He wanted to help Kyra, but going against Benjamin could cost him everything. Still, he felt he needed to do something before it was too late. He could only hope for a chance to make things right.
