Chapter 298: Chapter 298 World key power

Lucas howled, his howl cutting through the night air as he sprinted forward, Damon on his back. His paws moved swiftly, the ground blurring beneath him. He was following the pull of the crystal, leading him straight toward Kyra.

Above them, Simon was flying in his eagle form, keeping pace with Lucas. His large wings flapped smoothly in the moonlight, and his sharp eyes scanned the surroundings. On his back, Oceanus was lazily resting, his silver-gray hair glowing under the soft light. His face was peaceful, as if he didn’t have a care in the world, even in the middle of all the chaos.

Simon glanced back at Oceanus, shaking his head. Even when things got serious, Oceanus acted like nothing was happening. Simon never really understood him. Oceanus helped people, but only when he had something to gain from it. He was ruthless, too, with a heart as cold as stone. Still, for now, he had decided to help them.

Simon soared silently through the sky, matching Lucas’s speed below. They were getting closer, the tension in the air growing thicker. Lucas was focused, determined to find Kyra.

As they reached the high wall, Lucas slowed down, taking in the open gate and the terrible smell of rot and blood that hit them hard. Growls and the clash of weapons echoed from inside, making the air feel thick with tension.

Without wasting a second, Lucas charged through the gate, Simon flying overhead in his eagle form. Inside, chaos surrounded them. A dead body lay at the entrance, but Lucas barely noticed, his focus only on one thing.

"LITTLE THING!" Damon’s shout echoed as his eyes landed on Kyra.

She stood in the middle of the fight, her face streaked with blood, her long hair flying in the wind. She looked fierce and dangerous, holding a crackling rope of blue thunder with green light sparking through it. Her face was cold, emotionless, and filled with a sharpness that made her look like a devil straight from the depths of hell.

With a swift movement, she swung the rope, and the monsters around her fell, lifeless. She didn’t flinch or show any fear.

Damon’s gaze shifted to Benjamin, standing not far off, directing the monsters. Rage boiled inside Damon. He knew Benjamin was behind this. He had suspected it, but now it was clear.

The urge to tear Benjamin apart filled Damon. Nothing would stop him now—not after what he had seen. Kyra needed him, and Benjamin would pay for everything.

Benjamin’s smirk widened as his eyes locked onto Damon. "Damon~~," he drawled, his gaze quickly falling on the pink gemstone in Damon’s hand. The recognition was instant, and the smirk deepened, his eyes gleaming with greed.

"The World Key!" he murmured, more to himself than anyone else.

Then his attention shifted to Damon’s injured back. The sight of the wound made Benjamin chuckle darkly. "I didn’t expect this... Hahaha!" His laughter rang out, echoing through the area.

He waved a dismissive hand toward the monster standing beside him. "Go check the area! Find out who’s been destroying our incoming monsters and shadows," Benjamin ordered, his voice laced with irritation. His smirk faded, replaced by a darker expression.

He was growing more concerned about the reports from Emerald Bay, where their Ghost Eye organization had another headquarters. That place was already half-destroyed, thanks to some lone beast who had killed the majority of their monsters. The whole island had turned into a bloody ruin, and now, Benjamin feared this mysterious beast might interfere further.

The monster beside him hesitated, visibly trembling. It wasn’t nearly strong enough to handle something so powerful. The stories of the lone beast had spread like wildfire—the beast was skilled and deadly, slaughtering even the largest monsters they had created with ease.

Seeing its hesitation, Benjamin’s dark gaze narrowed. "Go!" he snapped, the air around him thick with tension. The creature flinched before scurrying off in the direction Benjamin had pointed, clearly fearing the punishment more than the potential danger waiting for it.

Benjamin’s eyes returned to Damon.

Oceanus lazily reached out his hand towards Damon. "Give me the key," he said in his usual calm, laid-back tone.

Damon, though confused, handed over the World Key without hesitation.

Oceanus took it, his gaze resting on Kyra, Her long, fiery red hair whipped in the wind, framing her fierce expression as she fought with deadly precision.

Then, without warning, Oceanus casually tossed the pink gemstone at her.

The World Key spun through the air, catching the light for a brief moment before it struck Kyra squarely on the head.

Benjamin’s eyes widened in disbelief. "What... the heck... NOOO!" he screamed, his voice frantic as the situation spiraled out of his control.

Even Lucas, Damon, and Simon stood frozen, shocked by what they had just witnessed. None of them had expected Oceanus to use the World Key like... that.

Kyra, startled by the sudden impact, reached up to hold her head, her expression a mixture of confusion and pain. But before she could even react further, the gemstone began to sparkle, emitting a soft pink glow that enveloped her entirely. Her whole body became bathed in a warm, radiant light, the tension visibly leaving her form as she stood there, eyes closed, absorbing the energy.

It wasn’t just the physical warmth. As the light surrounded her, Kyra felt something deeper—her memories, once fractured and divided, were coming together. Her subconscious, the part of her Kaia, began merging with her own mind. The distinction between Kyra and Kaia faded, and with that realization, she understood: Kaia had never been separate. She had been a fragment of her own mind, born out of the confusion of her past.

As the light dimmed, the imaginary boundaries that had once separated her from herself had vanished.

Kyra felt a wave of warmth wash over her, seeping into her bones, calming the tension inside. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open, revealing the brilliance of her hazel-blue irises, now flashing with a light.

The energy coursing through her veins was unmistakable — she felt stronger, more in control than ever before.

In front of her, a group of monsters charged toward her, roaring and snarling, their grotesque forms clawing the earth as they advanced. But instead of fear or tension, a deep smile curled at the corners of her lips.
