Chapter 333: Chapter 333 Lucas cuteness
After their beautiful moment together, Kyra and Oceanus decided to sleep on the soft grass by the riverbank. The gentle sounds of nature surrounded them, and the night sky sparkled with stars, creating a serene backdrop for their intimate night.
Oceanus felt no worry for her safety; he knew his powers could protect them from any danger that might arise. As they lay together, his warmth enveloped her, and she felt utterly secure.
"Can we go back, Ocean?" Kyra asked, a hint of embarrassment coloring her voice as she shifted slightly.
"Hmmm... why?" he replied, his head resting on his arms as he hugged her close, his tone husky and playful.
"I don’t mind staying here, but my baby said there are many mosquitoes, and baby feels uncomfortable," she said, her expression serious yet endearing.
Seeing her childishness, Oceanus chuckled softly. "If the baby is feeling uncomfortable, why don’t mummy take out her space capsule?" He playfully flicked her forehead.
"Ohoh, yeah!" Kyra exclaimed, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment at her forgetfulness.
Oceanus leaned back, allowing her to sit up. "You come up with the most charming excuses, little genius." he said, a smile dancing on his lips.
Kyra pouted playfully, her eyes sparkling. "Well, when I’m with such a gorgeous siren, some things just slip my mind."
His grin widened, his turquoise eyes shining with warmth. "Flattery will only get you so far, my star. But if our little one is uncomfortable, we must take care of it."
With a flick of his wrist, a gentle wave of energy surrounded them. A shimmering, transparent barrier formed, keeping the mosquitoes and any small creatures away, creating a safe haven.
"Wow, you could do that all along?" Kyra said, blinking in surprise.
"Of course," he replied, a teasing lilt in his voice. "But I enjoyed watching you come up with creative excuses."
Kyra laughed, her heart swelling with affection. "You’re impossible."
"Ocean, I heard from Lucas that you’re only rank 1. I mean, I can clearly see you’re very powerful..." Kyra muttered, glancing at him with a puzzled look.
Oceanus chuckled softly, his eyes half-closed in amusement. "Hmm, yeah... but have you heard about the spiritual rank? Most beastmen aren’t aware of it."
Kyra’s curiosity immediately piqued. "Oh? How does that work?" she asked, leaning in with genuine interest.
"Well," he began, his voice low and calm, "physical rank is what most people see—strength, speed, raw power. It’s what determines your abilities on the battlefield. But spiritual rank is different. It’s about connection with the elements, with the universe itself. Those who are spiritually ranked can manipulate the forces around them in ways that go beyond mere strength."
Kyra’s eyes widened. "So, you’re saying you’re more connected to... nature? The elements? Like my super powers."
Oceanus nodded. "Exactly. My rank may seem low by physical standards, but spiritually, I’m in a league of my own. That’s why I can control the water, create barriers, even affect the flow of energy around us." He lifted his hand, and a small swirl of water rose from the river, spinning gently in the air before dispersing like mist.
"Wow," Kyra whispered, her eyes glowing with fascination. "So, in a way, you’re even more powerful than someone who only focuses on physical strength?"
Oceanus smiled at her. "Power isn’t always about brute force, little star. Sometimes, it’s about subtlety, balance, and understanding the world in a deeper way. But don’t tell Lucas that," he added with a playful wink.
Kyra laughed softly, resting her head on his chest. "I won’t. It’ll be our little secret."
Oceanus stroked her hair gently, his voice soft as he spoke again. "There’s a lot more to this world, Kyra. Power comes in many forms. And with the right balance, you can accomplish things far beyond what anyone expects."
"You don’t want to take out your space capsule? I didn’t know you liked sleeping under the open sky," Oceanus spoke again after a while, his voice laced with teasing.
"Hmm... it’s a different experience. I like it," Kyra mumbled sleepily, her words trailing off. And within moments, he heard her soft, cute snores. Oceanus chuckled, enjoying the peaceful sound.
But after she fell asleep, his playful expression shifted. His turquoise eyes sharpened, scanning the area. "Come out," he ordered, his voice dropping to a commanding tone.
No sound.
"I don’t repeat myself," Oceanus said again, his voice dangerously low.
Still, no one appeared. His lips curled into a mocking smile as he raised an eyebrow. "Whose beast has such a fluffy, silver, cute tail? Must be some fox tail... only they have tails that pretty," he added with fake amusement, a knowing glint in his eyes.
Suddenly, there was a frustrated growl. "Oyyy... wolf, wolf, wolf!" Lucas emerged angrily, glaring at Oceanus.
’How can my fluffy tail be compared to a vixen? Let’s see whose tail is better!’
Vincent stood off to the side, arms crossed and a blank expression on his face, while Damon shook his head in disbelief. The two exchanged a glance, silently agreeing that Lucas needed a reality check.
"Let’s drag him into the corner and knock some sense into him," Damon suggested, his tone serious. 𝚗o𝚟pub.𝚌𝚘𝚖
Vincent nodded, already moving towards Lucas, who was still bristling with indignation.
"Tsk... you guys are no fun," Oceanus laughed, watching as Damon and Vincent approached with their stink faces, clearly unimpressed by Lucas’s antics. Lucas, still bristling, shot Oceanus a glare, his fur standing on end.
But before Oceanus could react, Lucas darted toward him, determination etched across his furry face. Just as expected, the wolf flopped down next to Oceanus, his fluffy tail swishing playfully and landing squarely across Oceanus’s face.
Oceanus raised an eyebrow, unfazed. "Really, Lucas?" He chuckled, pushing the tail away, only for it to come back like an overzealous puppy eager for attention.
"Woof woof!" Lucas seemed to think triumphantly, his tail wagging vigorously as if to declare that it was, in fact, the superior tail. The soft fur brushed against Oceanus’s cheek, tickling him and causing him to laugh harder.
