Chapter 341: Chapter 341 Step-daddy

As they arrived home, Kyra’s laughter filled the air as she chatted with David, her face relaxed and carefree. Oceanus and Silas sat on either side of her.

Vincent, observing the scene, made a mental note. More sofas needed! The house seemed to be filling up fast.

Toma ran into Kyra’s arms with a bright smile, his small legs moving as fast as they could. Kyra bent down and caught him in a tight embrace, her heart swelling with warmth as she hugged him close. She kissed his little face all over, making him giggle and squirm with delight.

"Oh, my sweet Toma!" Kyra cooed, her voice filled with affection. She pulled back just enough to look into his bright eyes, brushing his messy hair out of his face. "I missed you so much!"

Toma wrapped his arms around her neck, squeezing her as tight as his little arms could. "I missed you too, sister! I was good, I promise!"

Kyra smiled, her heart full as she held him close again, swaying a little. "I know you were, darling. And now I’m home." She kissed his cheek again, holding him like she never wanted to let go.

Suddenly, Lucas’s voice rang out, breaking the calm. "Daddy!" he shouted excitedly before launching himself toward David, practically knocking him over with a hug. David, initially startled, laughed heartily as he hugged Lucas back.

"Luca, cub! Do you know how much your mom and I missed you? And we have good news!" David said, his chuckle deepening.

Lucas’s eyes widened with excitement. "Tell me, tell me!" he begged, practically bouncing in place.

David leaned in with a teasing grin. "Good news—you’ve got a new daddy! You remember your friend Jimmy, right?"

Lucas froze. For a whole minute, he didn’t move, his brain working overtime to process what David had just said.

"Jimmy?" he finally muttered, blinking. "Jimmy... my friend... became my stepdaddy?"

The absurdity of the situation hit him, and Lucas’s face went blank, struggling to wrap his mind around the idea. Really? His friend, Jimmy, was now his stepfather? His mind swirled with confusion.

Lucas stared at David, completely baffled by the sudden revelation. "How did that even happen...?" he muttered, his confusion mirrored on Kyra’s face as she, too, tried to process the unexpected news.

Vincent, on the other hand, remained unphased, likely already knowing or not particularly caring, while Oceanus, Silas, and Damon exchanged confused glances. They clearly had no idea what was going on or who this "Jimmy" was.

David, seeing Lucas’s bewilderment, chuckled and explained, "After you left to search for Kyra, Jimmy started helping out a lot, especially with your mom, Gina. He eventually confessed that he liked her. We weren’t too happy about it and even roughed him up a bit," David added with a sheepish grin. "But we stopped when we saw he was serious. He confessed again before he went into hibernation. And when he woke up, Gina had already started liking him, too. They received the ethereal marks, so it’s official now. He’s part of the Wolf Tribe, staying there with her."

Lucas stood there, his brain struggling to catch up. Jimmy? His friend Jimmy was now his stepdad? It felt surreal.

"Okay, since you’re all here now, I’ve got to get going. I have the night guard duty," David said, rising to leave, giving them all a nod.

Kyra, regaining her composure, smiled. "Sorry to trouble you."

David waved her off. "No worries. We’ll come visit you all tomorrow." With that, he left, leaving Lucas still standing there, trying to make sense of it all.

Lucas stood frozen, still trying to wrap his head around what had just been said. His childhood friend, Jimmy, was now his stepdad. Of all the things that could’ve happened while he was away, this was probably the last thing he ever expected.

Kyra glanced over at him, stifling a laugh. "Are you okay?" she asked, trying to keep her voice light, though she found the whole situation equally amusing and shocking.

"I don’t know..." Lucas muttered, rubbing his temples. "I think I need to sit down."

Vincent, still unfazed, gave Lucas a pat on the shoulder. "You’ll get used to it." 𝔫𝖔𝔳𝔭𝔲𝔟.𝖈𝔬𝔪

Oceanus, ever curious, tilted his head. "Is it really that strange for a friend to become a... father figure?" His question was innocent, but Lucas just groaned, burying his face in his hands.

"Yes! When it’s your friend, and you didn’t see it coming at all!" Lucas replied, exasperated.

Silas, who had been silent for most of the conversation, chuckled softly. "You’ve been gone for a while. Life moves on, and people change. You’ll catch up eventually."

Kyra burst into laughter at that, unable to hold it in anymore. Lucas just shot them all a glare, though it was clear he wasn’t actually mad. His lips twitched like he was about to laugh too, but he was still processing.

"Tomorrow... I’m going to have a long talk with Jimmy," Lucas finally said, shaking his head as if that would somehow make everything make sense. "A very long talk."

Silas suddenly spoke up. "Let’s figure out who’s taking which room," he suggested, his eyes settling on Kyra.

"You can pick any of them," Lucas said, pointing toward the rooms on the right side, clearly trying to keep things simple.

Damon, however, had different thoughts. "We want a room close to the little thing," he said firmly.

Kyra smiled at Damon, "Damon, the third dome house has two floors. Each floor has two rooms, so you can use one of them for your hoarding room, where you can lock things up. The other room could be a study, or even a place for you to stitch. I know how much you enjoy designing clothes, and there’s a big room painted in blue. It’s perfect for you. The balcony offers a mountain view that I’m sure you’ll love," she said, her voice soft as she cradled Toma, who was busy playing with her hair.

She chuckled softly, pressing her cheek to Toma’s small head before adding, "And don’t worry, you can come into my room anytime, and I can come to yours whenever. It’s not like we’re going to spend all day inside the rooms. We’ll still be together, alright?" Her tone was soothing, ensuring Damon wouldn’t feel too separated from her.

Damon seemed to relax a little, nodding at her words.
