Chapter 73: Chapter 73 IowU

Lucas let out a deep sigh as he sank back into the comfortable sofa, finally feeling a sense of peace wash over him. He closed his eyes. But when he opened them again, he saw Kyra was picking up a broom.

"Hey, what are you up to?" he asked softly.

Kyra turned to him. "The house has been shut up for days. It would be a good idea if we gave it a thorough cleaning." she said, then proceeded to open the windows, letting in the fresh outdoor air.

Lucas pouted a little, hoping they could just relax and head straight to bed. But he knew better than to argue with Kyra since she was right. He nodded in agreement and joined her in tidying up the living room.

After they had finished cleaning, Kyra gathered up the bedsheets and pillowcases from Lucas’s room. They didn’t have a washing machine, so she had to wash them by hand, she thought, heading over to the sink.

Lucas offered to help, and together they hung the freshly washed linens on the homemade wooden drying rack he had built.

Then Kyra took a much-needed bath, carefully washing her hair as well.

Stepping outside, Kyra let her damp hair air-dry as she sat on the stairs, taking a moment of respite after their hard work.

Lucas also came out, his hair still damp from his own bath. He silently sat down next to Kyra, resting his chin on her shoulder as he took her soft hands in his own, gently playing with her fingers. n𝚘vp𝚞𝚋.com

Kyra smiled as she felt his warm breath against her neck. "You didn’t show me what’s in that bag of yours." Lucas murmured, biting softly at her fingers. Kyra giggled at his playful behavior.

"You clingy wolf." she said, pulling her fingers back and glaring at him teasingly. But Lucas only nuzzled his face deeper into the crook of her neck, his words coming out as a soft babble.

"IowU" he mumbled against her skin. Kyra didn’t quite catch what he said, but she let him continue his affectionate gestures without protest.

Later, Kyra walked into the bedroom, only to find Lucas silently following close behind her.

"Lucas, why are you following me?" she asked, turning to face him.

Lucas gave a lopsided grin. "Because you’re a magnet that keeps pulling me towards you," he said leaning towards her.

Kyra bit back a smile, gently hitting his arm. "Go away, you flirty wolf." She said playfully.

After making Kyra a bit annoyed, Lucas went back out to the backyard to check on his carrot farm. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and feeling the cool breeze on his face as he walked towards the fields.

"Ahh, my carrot babies!" he exclaimed, running towards the rows of lush, carrots plants. However, his eyes widened in dismay when he noticed that some of the carrots were missing.

"No way." he muttered angrily, searching the area. He then heard a faint sound of crunching. Carefully, Lucas approached the source of the noise, which was coming from the mango tree.

"Myom... yum." a voice chirped. Lucas’ eyes narrowed as he spotted a parrot gleefully nibbling on one of his precious carrots.

"You damn parrot! How dare you steal my carrots?" Lucas shouted, grabbing a stick from the ground and throwing it at the bird.

The parrot let out a startled squawk, its small black eyes going wide. Then, it charged at Lucas, using its sharp beak to try and attack him. Quickly, Lucas shifted into his wolf form, leaping towards the parrot, but the agile bird flew higher, evading his grasp.

Letting out a loud, angry howl, Lucas tried to scare the parrot away with his imposing aura. The parrot paused, eyeing him warily, then snatched up another carrot and began to fly off.

Refusing to let the thief escape, Lucas pounced, snatching the parrot in his jaws. But just as he did so, Kyra appeared, rubbing her eyes sleepily.

"Lucas, what are you doing?" she asked.

Hearing her voice, the parrot quickly broke free and fluttered behind a tree, leaving Lucas holding nothing but air.

"Nothing, just feeding a homeless... food." Lucas said, shifting back to his human form.

Kyra blinked, looking around in confusion, but didn’t see anyone. "Who?" she asked.

"Oh, it ran away. But forget it, I did a kind deed by feeding the parrot a carrot." Lucas said smugly.

Kyra hummed, leaning against his shoulder, and Lucas put his arm around her waist. Behind them, the parrot glared angrily, muttering under its breath about the "ugly wolf" who dared to call him homeless.

The parrot was lucky because Lucas didn’t hear it calling him an ugly wolf, or else he would have already ripped in two.

Kyra’s eyes fell on the lush carrot fields and the mango trees. "Did you do all this yourself?" she asked, amazed.

"You want to eat?" Lucas asked, noticing her gaze lingering on the ripe mangoes. Kyra nodded, and Lucas led her over to the tree, carefully picking some of the sweet, juicy mango fruit.

Lucas took her to a spot where the stream was, just a little distance away.

They sat by the clear, bubbling stream that flowed down from the nearby mountain, the cool breeze and the setting sun creating a peaceful, serene atmosphere. The water sparkled like diamonds, and the surrounding stones and overgrown weeds gave the area a natural, untouched beauty. Lucas washed the mangoes in the refreshing stream, then used his long, sharp nails to slice them in half, offering one half to Kyra.

Kyra happily accepted the mango, savoring the sweet, tangy flavor as she ate. Lucas watched her fondly.

Kyra noticed that Lucas hadn’t taken any mangoes for himself. "Why aren’t you eating?" she asked. "Don’t you want any?"

"I’ll eat later." Lucas assured her with a smile. Kyra insisted they eat together, so Lucas joined her in enjoying the fresh, ripe mangoes as the sun began to set, painting the sky in warm hues.

Kyra couldn’t help but admire Lucas as they sat side by side. The orange glow of the sunset reflected beautifully in his ocean-blue eyes, making his silver hair shine. His full, pink lips were stained with mango juice, and Kyra found herself leaning closer to him.
