Chapter 74: Chapter 74 His childhood friends
Kyra’s gaze was drawn to Lucas’ lips, still glistening with the tangy sweetness of the mango he had been eating. His lightly bronzed skin looked flawless, and when he turned to meet her eyes, Kyra couldn’t help but notice the way the fading sunlight seemed to make his ocean-blue irises sparkle.
Lucas’ eyes widened as he realized how close Kyra had moved towards him. Unable to resist the temptation, Kyra leaned in, her eyes fluttering shut as she prepared to press her lips against his.
However, just as their lips were about to meet, Lucas’ hand gently intercepted, blocking the kiss.
Kyra’s eyes snapped open, confusion and disappointment written on her face.
"Let’s finish our mangos first, then we can continue where we left off." Lucas said with a playful grin, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
Kyra rolled her eyes at his smug expression, realizing just how much of a tease this wolf could be.
"You and your silly games." Kyra huffed, standing up without a trace of amusement on her face.
Lucas paused, wondering if he had gone too far in teasing her. As he watched Kyra wash her hands in the nearby stream, a pang of concern washed over him.
"Kyra?" he called out, his voice low and uncertain.
But before he could say anything else, Kyra whirled around and began pinching his cheeks, rubbing them vigorously.
"Oh, so you love making fun of others, do you?" Kyra said, a grin spreading across her face. "Well, now it’s my turn to have some fun with you, Mr. Silly wolf."
"Ow, ow! Okay, okay, I’m sorry!" Lucas yelped, struggling against her assault on his cheeks.
Kyra finally relented, pulling him into a warm hug. Lucas poked her stomach playfully, earning a glare from Kyra.
"It’s getting late," Lucas said, transforming into his wolf form. "Let’s head back."
Kyra looked at the majestic silver wolf, instinctively climbing onto his back and hugging his neck softly. She loved the feeling of riding on Lucas’ soft, plush fur.
As they reached their home, Kyra carefully climbed off Lucas’ back. Suddenly, she remembered there was a big problem - their kitchen was completely empty.
"What are we going to have for dinner?" Kyra asked, remembering that there was nothing in the kitchen.
"Don’t worry! I won’t let you go hungry," Lucas said. "Hop on my back again," he said, turning into a wolf.
Kyra sat on his back, and Lucas ran towards his neighbor’s house, Pablo’s.
When they arrived, Kyra hopped off Lucas’ back. He changed back into his human form and stood beside her. "This is my good friend Pablo’s place. He’ll be happy to help us." Lucas said confidently as he walked up to the door and knocked loudly.
"I don’t think that’s a good idea, Lucas." Kyra said, holding his arm.
"Don’t worry," Lucas said as he knocked rapidly on the door. "Pablo! Pablo!" he called out.
The door opened, and Pablo appeared. "You little s*hit! I heard you, and I know you just came back to-" he said, but he stopped when he saw Kyra. There was a red lipstick mark on his cheek, and his face flushed with embarrassment.
Lucas looked at him, speechlessly. "Just a friendly warning," he said, "too much action between the sheets could mess with your kidneys in the long haul." Pablo shot him a glare, muttering curses under his breath.
As Kyra blushed, overhearing their conversation.
"Who’s there, baby?" a low voice said from behind. His mate Mia hugged him from behind. She was tall and slender, with gray eyes and long black hair.
Mia peeked out from behind Pablo. "Kyra! It’s so nice to finally meet you." she said excitedly with a bright smile. She had heard a lot about Kyra and wanted to be her friend.
Kyra smiled. "Hi, I’m Kyra. And you must be..."
"Hi, I’m Mia, and he is Pablo, my main husband. I have fifteen more mates. Five are out getting supplies, five are guarding the tribal forest area, and the remaining five are here to protect me." Mia said quickly. Kyra looked at her amusingly, thinking she was cute.
"Hi, female, I’m Pablo, Mia’s main husband." Pablo said, smiling.
Kyra smiled back at them. "It’s nice to meet you two."
Pablo looked at Lucas with a raised eyebrow. "So, what brings you here?" he asked, folding his muscular arms across his chest.
"We don’t have anything to eat at home." Lucas said, making his eyes wet and cute.
Mia gasped dramatically hearing Lucas words "Goodness! Why are you standing outside? Come inside quickly, Kyra, you must be hungry. Let’s go, my husband has cooked a great meal, and we were just about to eat. Perfect timing!" Mia said hurriedly as she took Kyra’s hand and pulled her inside.
Seeing this, Lucas gave Pablo a playful wink, to which Pablo responded by rolling his eyes.
"Ah! You’re so beautiful up close. If I were a male, I would have kissed you right here and there." Mia said, her eyes sparkling as she guided Kyra to the sofa. Kyra blushed at the unexpected compliment.
"If you were a male, I would have kicked you right here and then." Lucas said, rolling his eyes.
Mia pretended not to hear him. "I think I heard something, but let’s not worry about that now. Come, Kyra, let me feed you some delicious food." she said, gently taking Kyra’s hand and leading her towards the dining area.
Lucas glared at Mia. He, Pablo, and the others had grown up together, and Pablo had started liking Mia when he was thirteen.
Pablo knows he has to chase Mia before she becomes an adult so that he can become her first. So, he told Lucas about this, and who knows that this wolf will go to Mia and tell his embarrassing moments.
Thankfully, after that, Mia accepted him. However, they kept this a secret because it’s a crime to mate with a young female who isn’t mature.
Both are young and curious about love and mating, so they used to meet each other secretly and kiss each other.
And again, Lucas caught them, and Pablo bribed him to promise to guard the tribe whenever it was his turn.
Now, he and Mia have finally mated, and he can have her as much as he can without hiding, and this sneaky wolf can’t blackmail him anymore.
