Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Fighting

As they stood there in silence, he couldn’t help but notice the faint fragrance of her, a scent that stirred something deep within him, urging him to pull her close. His heart raced with the desire to wrap his arms around her, to feel her warmth against his chest.

But before he could act on his impulse, Lucas interjected himself between them, breaking the charged moment.

"I’m all set! Are you guys done chatting?" Lucas inquired, eager to head home.

"We’re finished, right?" Kyra glanced at Vincent, seeking confirmation.

"Then can we head out?" Lucas pressed, eager to leave.

"Sure," Kyra replied, though she hesitated, offering a tentative wave to Vincent. "Bye... Take care."

"Bye, Vinu!" Lucas chimed in, while Vincent simply rolled his eyes in response.

As Kyra climbed onto Lucas’s back, she stole a glance back at Vincent. Something about the way he looked at them made her heart ache. Was it loneliness she saw in his eyes?

She couldn’t shake the worry gnawing at her chest. What if they left him alone? Would he feel lonely?

When did she start caring so much? She couldn’t deny the truth any longer: she was in love with both men, and it was tearing her apart.

She knows she can have both of them, having seen other women with more than fifteen partners. She should embrace the idea of customization, but her morals hold her back. Since childhood, she’s believed there’s no room for a third person between two people in love.

Yet, she struggles to accept the truth.

She can’t deny feeling attracted to both men.

Lucas brings her comfort and happiness.

Vincent makes her nervous, his gaze almost suffocating. If he were to love her, his intense affection would make her uneasy, yet oddly comfortable.

She’s unsure how to feel, but she knows she craves his suffocating love.

His gaze makes her heart skip a beat, conveying that she belongs to him.

Arriving home, Kyra dismounts from his back as Lucas tells her, "Kyra, I’ll go get some vegetables, meat and rations for us. Wait for me at home." his tone filled with concern.

Even though he has Kyra all to himself, he can’t always be by her side, and in today’s world, males are eager for mating. Whenever he leaves Kyra alone, he feels anxious.

The thought of sharing Kyra with someone else pains his heart.

Lucas approached the ration center, a small, old cottage with faded wooden walls and a rusty roof. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of grains and spices. Long wooden counters lined the room, with people standing in orderly lines. Behind the counters, shelves were stacked with bags of rice, flour, and other essentials. A large weighing scale sat off to one side, ready to measure out the daily allotments.

The floor was worn from the countless footsteps of those who had come before. As Lucas stepped in, the quiet hum of conversation among the men waiting in line grew louder. They noticed him immediately.

"Lucas! Hey, Lucas!" one of them called out, and soon he was surrounded by curious faces.

"Lucas, I heard the Feral King came to visit you. That’s amazing!" one man exclaimed.

"Yeah, and you’ve got such a beautiful mate. Unlike us, who haven’t even found one." another added with a touch of envy.

"Did you mate with Kyra? How does it feel to have her? Share with us." a third asked.

"Haha! If I were you, I’d have marked her by now." someone joked, eliciting laughter from the others.

"Lucas, can you introduce us to your female? We’re like brothers; we could share her." another chimed in with a laugh. 𝚗ovp𝚞b.𝚌om

"Okay, okay, enough," Lucas said, his annoyance showing. Half of these men he didn’t even recognize, and when did they become his ’brothers’?

And their thoughts almost disgusted him. Sharing Kyra with them? Not even in their dreams.

It was good enough he hadn’t beaten them.

"Line up properly. My mate is hungry and I need to get back to her quickly." Lucas commanded coldy. The men quieted down and resumed their places in line.

A cold voice cut through the murmurs, "You’ve become so arrogant after getting a mate from an unknown origin, Lucas."

Lucas frowned, recognizing the speaker. It was Nathan, Sally’s mate. "I don’t care what you think, Nathan." Lucas replied, rolling his eyes.

Nathan’s eyes narrowed. "You always pretend to be everyone’s friend, then stab them in the back." he said bitterly, causing a ripple of murmurs among the others.

"What are you talking about? I haven’t done anything to you," Lucas retorted, his voice growing serious. He hated when people spread lies about him.

Nathan’s anger flared. "You tried to seduce Sally after she rejected you. You knew she liked me, but you kept chasing her."

Nathan lunged at Lucas, fists flying. Lucas caught his punch, his eyes turning cold. The two of them shifted into their beast forms, and a fierce fight erupted. The crowd quickly formed a circle around them, watching the confrontation with eager interest.

Kyra had been anxiously awaiting Lucas’s arrival, but as time passed without a sign of him, worry began to gnaw at her. Without hesitation, she made her way to Mia’s house.

The door swung open, revealing one of Mia’s mates, looking surprised. "Kyra! Please come in." he greeted her warmly.

"Mia! Mia! Kyra’s here!" he called out. Hearing his voice, Mia dashed out of her bedroom and enveloped Kyra in a tight hug.

"Haha! You missed me, huh? Let’s go outside and play." Mia exclaimed, excitement bubbling in her voice as she held Kyra’s hands.

"We will go, but first, I am here to ask you that where you all buy vegetables and rations. Lucas has been gone for a while, and he hasn’t come back." Kyra explained, her concern evident.

"Don’t worry, maybe the line was just too long." Pablo reassured her, emerging from the kitchen.

"But if you’re feeling worried, Ben will take you there." Mia offered, glancing at her mate, Ben and noticing Kyra’s anxious bouncing.

"Sure." Ben agreed, though he hesitated slightly, reluctant to let another woman ride on his back.

"It’s okay." Mia assured him seeing his worry.

"We’ll come too," Mia and Pablo exchanged a glance before joining Ben and Kyra, with Kyra settling herself onto Ben’s back as they all set off together.
