Chapter 78: Chapter 78 His darkest desires.

Kyra climbed down from Lucas as they finally reached land. She looked around, noticing they were not far from the Silver Wolf tribe’s territory.

"Do you guys actually need to buy land to make a tribe?" Kyra asked, scanning the area.

"No," Vincent replied, shaking his head. "Just register the name of the tribe, the area, and some other details."

Kyra nodded. The land was wide and open, covered in green grass and wildflowers. The soil was rich and dark. In the distance, tall mountains stood with a river flowing from them.

The mountains stretched high, their tips almost touching the sky, while the river sparkled under the gentle sunlight, flowing gracefully across the terrain.

It was a peaceful, picturesque scene that made Kyra feel very calm.

"Why is everything here so beautiful?" she wondered aloud, not getting enough of the natural beauty around her. 𝘯𝑜𝑣𝑝𝑢𝘣.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"So, what do you think?" Vincent asked.

"It’s beautiful," Kyra said, smiling. "But how many people are going to live in the tribe? How big do you want it to be? If you provide me with details, I can make some detailed plans soon." Her eyes fell on Lucas, who was sniffing the grass.

"What is he doing?" she asked.

Vincent chuckled, following her gaze.

’Why is he acting like a cow?’ he thought.

Lucas didn’t hear them; he was too busy inspecting something on the ground.

"Any other requirements you have?" Kyra asked again, turning back to Vincent.

"My house needs to be bigger, with a balcony and more rooms," Vincent said, his gaze never leaving her.

Kyra felt his intense stare and blushed slightly. "Just curious, but what about your castle? Are you all going to leave it?"

"We can’t stay there for long," Vincent said, his expression darkening. "I’m planning to resell it. That castle isn’t safe at all."

"Not safe? Why?" Kyra asked, confused.

"There have been many incidents," Vincent explained. "Several males have complained about something dark in the castle. Last night, we found Monica fainted in a room that had been locked. No one has keys to that room, and she isn’t strong enough to break the lock."

Kyra didn’t believe in such things. "Maybe you should investigate again. I don’t think there will be ghosts or anything." Although Kyra was scared of ghosts, it was because of illusions and some movies she had seen. She shivered slightly, thinking about those creepy scenes that always seemed too real.

Vincent chuckled. "You don’t know many things, Kyra. You’re so clueless... Everything is possible. I know because I have experience." His eyes flashed with memory.

Two years ago, in the neighboring country of Valoria, in Novaria’s Death Forest.

The forest was one of the most dangerous places known in the world. Even powerful beastmen were afraid to go there. Vincent was twenty-five when he decided to participate in a competition there.

"Are ferals allowed to participate now? I can’t believe it." someone sneered.

"Have you seen his beast form? He’s so dark and ugly. No wonder he doesn’t have a mate." another said.

"Haha! Don’t you know ferals only have one fate? Hated by all... and die single! Hahaha!" Vincent clenched his fists, trying to ignore them. Their words didn’t affect him; he just wanted to compete and leave.

Everything was fine, though it got pretty hard when he encountered some strange beasts. But on the third night, while he was asleep under the trees, he felt a weight on his chest. He opened his eyes but couldn’t move or speak. It was a nightmare; he couldn’t use his body or voice to defend himself. Using all the power he had, he finally managed to free himself.

It was like someone choking him, but when he woke up fully, there was no one, not even the smell of any beast.

And that night, he advanced to Rank 6.

Vincent’s eyes returned to the present as he saw her looking at him.

She looked so naive, though she was somewhat powerful, enough to defend herself. But she needed to see the cruelty of the world.

However, he would protect her from everything.

"Woof!" Lucas suddenly ran toward her, rubbing himself against her legs. Kyra felt ticklish as she rubbed his furry head. He raised his head, showing pink flowers in his mouth.

"Are those for me?" Kyra asked, seeing him nod. A wide smile appeared on her face.

He nodded his head cutely and rubbed himself against Kyra as she continued to pet him.

"And other than houses, what else do you want to build?" Kyra asked looking at him.

Vincent looked at her and thought for a moment before replying. "I want to build a common place where we can have meetings and events, a playhouse for cubs, a training center, fences and..." He paused for a while. "That’s enough for now," he said. "Don’t worry, you don’t have to start today. I’ll purchase some paper and pencils for you and send them over tomorrow."

"Okay." Kyra said, tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear. She watched as Lucas transformed into a human.

"You guys wait here, and Vincent, protect Kyra. I have an emergency," Lucas said, smiling awkwardly.

"It’s okay, go." Kyra replied with a smile as she watched Lucas quickly disappear.

Kyra felt the awkward silence between them.

"So you still haven’t reached adulthood that’s why you and Lucas didn’t mate right.." He asked, his dark red eyes unable to resist lingering on her plump lips.

"Hmm..." Kyra said, unsure where to look, his gaze leaving her breathless. She gazed at the distant mountains, trying to evade his intense stare.

Vincent’s thoughts raced. He could see she wasn’t as comfortable with him as she was with Lucas.

What should he do? Should he kiss her until she was breathless, his lips capturing hers until she melted into him, feeling only his presence? Or should he pull her closer, his hands tracing her body, letting the heat between them grow until it was unbearable, making them both lose themselves in the intensity of the moment?

His eyes darkened with desire as he looked at her, his only wish to capture her in his arms and never let her go, to hold her close and never release her, to keep her with him always, wrapped in his embrace, lost in their own world of passion and desire.
