Chapter 101: Swift Fatalities, Rakin Exploding
The Monsters that John was about to fight were:
1. Obsidian-Antler Bramble Stag – [Metal / Flora / Crystal ]
2. Sootblaze Cinder Crow – [Smoke / Flame]
3. Windsplitter Dunebust Mantis - [ Wind / Scythe / Sand ]
The moment the countdown hit zero, John’s figure blurred as he used Tempest Streak to move a meter ahead and shot a bullet from his pistol that was aimed at the Mantis.
The middle-finger-sized bullet spiraled forward at blinding speed as it split into four leads and pierced into Mantis. Two leads into its Scythe arms and the other two through its body before one hundred threads burst out and connected to leads, trapping the Mantis with bloody brutality as it became completely ensnared.
Since he had used Soul Synergy with Rexion and had his stats increased to twice their original, his bullet was simply unstoppable, and the net was also tougher.
Even Gold-rank Monsters couldn’t block the velocity-boosted piercing spiraling bullets with high piercing power that he shot by using Tempest Streak, so there was no chance these Silver-rank Monsters could react to the speed of his bullets and defend against their power.
Meanwhile, Pymon and Alfred had also received commands from John right when the countdown had hit zero.
In the sky, Pymon was already covered within a 10-meter radius dark cloud as he used his 5th skill at full power.
Blightbolt Thundergale.
A faint stream of wind particles carrying water particles connected to the Sootblaze Crow and Mantis below that was trapped, forming a hazy, thin path.
This skill took two seconds of time before unleashing its power, so the Sootplume Cinderblaze Crow, who was ready to use a skill after the countdown hit zero, launched a set of fiery talon projectiles at John after John shot the first bullet.
John dodged it with slight use of Strider’s Gaunt without even looking at it, all the while shooting his second bullet at the running Stag next. Alfred had released Shader Blaze Beam at it, but the three floating black crystal shields around it reflected the beam away.
The shields kind of countered the beam-type attacks.
’Nice talent,’ John’s eyes glinted as he grinned. ’But your shields can’t stop my bullet.’
Crack!
The bullet shattered a shield and pierced through Stag, blasting right into its neck before it expanded into a three-meter-long bloody metal pole that hit the tree while the Stag was running, causing it to stumble down.
At this moment, all people heard a rumbling thunder before everyone saw two terrifying lightning bolts traveling like snakes from Pymon’s dark cloud, following through the stream that was trailing the Mantis and Cinder Crow, and absorbing its power before devastatingly blasting both Monsters.
The Mantis’ attribute power was also not effective against Metal, and with its scythes also bound and rendered useless, it couldn’t even use a defensive skill since it wasn’t expecting to get struck by such a terrifying lightning blast.
Cinder Crow tried to get away, but this was a homing attack. It could only be blocked and not dodged, so in the end, both monsters vanished in the thundering blasts, utterly dead.
The audience was shocked and then went bonkers.
"What fucking damage?!"
"Terrifying!"
"My hairs are standing in salute to that scene."
At the same time, Alfred also unleashed Tundral Hemoxar Claws that swiftly transformed into blue-flaming crystal claws gleaming with crimson sparks by activating its combo move—Flash Freeze, as the Stag instantly froze into a sculpture when it was struck by the projectile.
’Instant freeze?’ Executive Rudh’s eyes gleamed. ’No, that’s instant temperature shift that applies to the target’s entire body at once. This Monster has a terrifying attribute control to have gained a combo skill like that based on that Frostfire variant attribute.’
In the next moment, another bullet embedded into its body before it exploded into a perfect circular explosion that released tiny blood metal shards, shattering the Stag as it vanished.
John blew over his gun’s barrel before putting it away. "Done."
Pin-drop silence followed, everyone looking confused and dazed.
What the fuck? Didn’t the fight just start?
Letters appear in the air as the camera focuses on it.
Time taken to finish the battle—8 seconds.
"It’s...it’s over!" the spikey-haired executive shouted, his voice awful loud as most people were still silent for half a second before the entire stadium burst into an uproar.
"What the fuck was that?!"
"You saw his bullets?!"
"Holy crap, this guy is a monster!"
"John Wicked! John Wicked! John Wi-"
Meanwhile, Rakin’s jaw had dropped, his eyes trembling as he looked at the screen. The loudness of the audience drowned into a dark sea that seemed to have enveloped him.
’What’s going on? I am supposed to be fucking star here...’
’I am supposed to be the strongest here...’
’So what the fuck is going on?!’ Rakin’s fist clenched as madness, anger, and jealousy erupted within him.
"Wonderful. Forget about his pets, his mastery of the Blood Alloy Sculpting is simply wonderful," Executive Rudh’s eyes gleamed. "To create such bullets and even find a technique to unleash fast bullets to enhance his combat power a notch above...he has a terrifying creative and control knack."
"Yeah, this is what you call a prodigy," Executive Jasime grinned. "And his Pets are awfully powerful. I’m still shocked at that Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon. It looks like we’ll be gaining quite a good haul with him participating in the Nexus City’s tournament."
"Indeed," Executive Korrat said as he nodded. "And to get that bird at Silver-rank is a fortune. John will be able to properly train it as it would become even more powerful once he evolves the attributes into variant ones and learns better skills as it ranks up. It might surpass old master Yoshin’s Falcon."
"Now I am even more curious to see his third pet. We have seen that Pet’s two skills already when he defended that meteor, so it’s safe to say it won’t be any weaker than these two," Executive Rudh said with a grin.
"It’s quite bizarre that someone without any background managed to acquire such powerful evolutions," Executive Jason thoughtfully spoke.
"Please stop," Azelis rolled her eyes. "It was his fortunate meeting with an individual who had been sighted in our city a few times that helped him evolve his Abyssal Darkwind Eagle into Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon."
"Not on him, but three other people from our sect had the fortune of getting their Pets to evolve into higher potential species," Azelis said with a smile. "You have already seen one of them here—Auralia’s Blackfrost Hunter Lynx."
"That’s rather interesting," Executive Jasime blinked as her dark pink eyes glinted. "Do you know where this person lives?"
While these Executives were speaking to each other, the spiky-haired Executive had finished hyping up as he talked with John briefly before turning to the Executives to give the scores.
"Hahaha, there’s no doubt that you are first, young man." Executive Rudh laughed as he displayed [ 10 ] above his head.
The other executives also displayed their scores next.
Azelis - [10/10]
Rudh - [10/10]
Jason - [9.5/10]
Tavros - [9.5/10]
Korrat - [10/10]
Jasmine - [10/10]
Looking at the scores, the audience’s noise increased.
"What the fuck is wrong with those two?!"
"Hello? Are you two sharing one brain cell?"
"Fucking hell, they gave 9.5 to John, and gave 10 to that pauper who took four times longer to kill the Monsters."
Even the other Executives shot weird glances at the two.
John clapped amidst the noise of the audience, wryly smiling while looking at those two executives, causing many to laugh as the camera focused on him.
Executive Tavros coughed as he covered his mouth with his fist, his score changing from 9.5 to 10.
The audience couldn’t help but laugh.
To prevent further noise, the spiky-haired executive quickly announced a one-hour break as the round was over.
"Everyone, the next round will be the final one to determine the top five Silver-rank Tamers, who will be representing Ouroboros Hall in the upcoming Exotic Island Expedition at one of the dimensional islands of Mysrin Archipelago."
John sat down on the pillar instead, cross-legged, and closed his eyes.
"Brother John, don’t you want to eat?"
"Yeah, let’s go and eat."
Some of the Tamers in the top twenty asked him as they were leaving for break.
"Nah, I’m good. I ate a lot in the previous one-hour break," John answered with a smile. "You all go ahead."
Many of the Tamers in the sect now saw him in a positive light and were eager to meet him and even interact more, but there were still some salty people who instead got more jealous of him.
But the top one among them was none other than Rakin.
After a hateful glare at John, he looked up at Executive Jason and used Magic Whisper.
’I want him dead! Make him vanish!’
Executive Jason’s lips twitched.
Motherfucker, what do you mean make him gone?
He wanted to curse this young master, but held himself back since he had acquired quite the support of the Lockham Family already.
’Tavros and I have already planned our moves. If this plan doesn’t work, then we can find an opportunity to kill him in the Nexus City ten days later by hiring assassin Tammers. If that doesn’t work, then he will still die next time he goes out.’
’So be patient and keep yourself calm. He is a temporary thorn in our side, nothing more.’
Rakin snorted. ’He is fucking annoying, especially his grinning face. Make him disappear in the Nexus City ten days later. Better if he’s gone before he enters the special island. I’ll tell the family to give you support in this case.’
’Whatever you do, this John Wicked trash must be disposed of as soon as possible!’
