Chapter 48: Sage Kindred (2/2)

"Are you a Tamer? No need to answer. I know you are a Silver-rank Tamer close to reaching the peak in Soul Crystal’s progress," John paused, his voice as if he was performing live visions. "I see you have a Warflame Broodkin Hog at Prime-stage of Silver-rank. You have a Feather-fanged Rabbit, eh? Quite a lethal one with potential."

The man was so shocked he blurted, "What the fuck?" His eyes widened as he asked. "How do you know that?!"

"What if I tell you that I know a perfect evolution pathway to evolve your Warflame Broodkin Hog into an Infernal Warhell Beast."

"What the...I’ve never heard of such a monster evolution line for Warflame Broodkin Hog," the man suddenly felt skeptical.

"I expected you to doubt me. However, I bear knowledge of genes and the eyes of a sage. I am not called Sage Kindred for nothing," John let out a boastful chuckle before he took out 50 Gold Essence Coins.

"Buy what I tell you and bring the stuff here. I will personally guide you and make your Warflame Broodkin Hod into an Internal Warhell Beast right now."

"If I fail, I’ll give you these 50 Gold Essence Coins, which are more worth than your Silver-rank pet as you can buy a new Pet with it." 𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑝𝑢𝘣.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Fifty Gold Essence Coins? Haha, fine. Let’s do this."

As the man left, a light blond-haired girl suddenly arrived, in her late teens. Her eyes had lingering sadness and looked a bit red as if she cried recently. Her gaze directed hope mixed with skepticism towards John.

"Can you really evolve a Pet with a hundred percent success rate?" She asked.

’This outfit looks like she is a Tamer of Ouroboros Hall.’ John thought. ’Perfect.’

"Of course," John replied, his tone filled with serene confidence. "Have no doubt about this sage’s ability, for it is your blessing to have met me. Now, speak your concern, lass."

"My Miku...she failed evolution and is weakened on top of losing her potential," the girl said as she bit her lips, stopping her tears. "I only have two ways. Either I evolve her successfully, or I pay for a valuable elixir to fix her, which is too expensive. But I don’t have time to gather money because if I don’t evolve her or fix her in three days, she will die."

"She is too weak to fight because of the failed evolution robbing her legs...She needs to evolve with resources, but there’s no known evolution path method for it anywhere here. The only place that has it wants me to pay 1000 King Essence Coins, which is also impossible for me to get."

John blinked.

"Indeed, your Snow-Pawed Reaper Leopard will die unless she evolves," John nodded.

Hearing John accurately tell her Pet’s name, the girl’s eyes lit up. "I heard you correctly call out that man’s Pets and you also found out mine."

She became hopeful. "Will you please help me evolve her? I will try my best to pay you."

"You’re lucky," John heartily laughed. "I just decided to make you my first customer, so you will get a discount. Now, go and fetch these resources."

John listed four resources to her. Three being Silver-rank, and one being Gold-rank.

She mumbled something after hearing the names and nodded with determination, "I can get them! I will return in half an hour."

"Sure."

John then leisurely began snoring. Even if people called him, he deliberately didn’t answer.

"Hey, sage. I got the resources. Now do it."

Hearing the familiar voice of the black-haired man, John opened an eye and replied, "Before I begin, know that my service fee is quite expensive. If I really managed to evolve your pet to Gold-rank with a powerful evolution, I will expect three Gold-rank resources or 150 Gold Essence Coins as payment."

"What?!" The man shouted. "I had to spend thirty-six Gold Essence Coins buying these two Silver-rank and one Gold-rank resources. And on top of that, you want 150 Gold Essence Coins for this service?!"

"Even if you fail, I’d only earn fourteen Gold Essence Coins, which would barely make up for the loss of Pet as I will need to spend at least 10 Gold Essence Coins for a new good Pet."

Hearing his loud words, the nearby people and stall owners couldn’t help but look over.

But John stayed carefree and waved his hand, "Show me 150 Gold Essence Coins and I’ll begin my service. You think a powerful Gold-rank evolution is not worth it?"

"It’s indeed worth it, you weirdo," sudenly, a red-haired girl from the nearby stall spoke up, and snorted before adding, "but you think you’ll succeed? You don’t even want to give service first."

"Yeah, who is this weirdo? Never seen him here before."

"The clothes kinda look high quality."

"It’s just weird. He is sitting there and selling what? Farts?"

"Pff...."

John ignored the public and plainly said, "I would give my service first, but you don’t look trustworthy to me. You’re just greedy, so I fear that after taking the service, you won’t give me the fees."

The black-haired man gritted his teeth and suddenly grinned as if he defeated John. "Screw you. You already revealed the resources to me. I’ll do the experiment myself. I was about to try anyway."

’Dumbfuck, you also need Geno Points to fill the missing aspects for this evolution path, which you don’t have.’

Outwardly, John nonchalantly waved his hand, "Scram then."

"Fraud joker." The man spat on the road before him and walked away.

Ten minutes later, the blond-haired girl entered the market.

As she closed in, the nearby stall owners began telling her about him being a fraud and made fun of him.

The blond, however, had her hope rested in him, so she bit her lips and arrived before him.

"I got the resources. Are we going to do it here?"

"Yep," John sent the throne back into Monster Paradise before he sat down on the ground. "Take out the resources."

"This weirdo doesn’t even have a proper stall and he wants to evolve Monsters, pff...what a joke."

The girl had turned deaf against voices and took out the four wooden boxes from her storage ring put them in front of John.

Under the doubtful and amused gazes of people, John displayed masterful soul energy control as he took out the resources before crushing them in different ways and mixing them into a single wooden box which had a bowl-shaped slot belonging to a certain type of Silver-rank coconut-like resource.

"Take out the Pet."

The girl took out her Snow-Pawed Reaper Leopard, who drew gasps, pity, and sneers from the random public.

"That’s a dead one, girl. Pity."

"Snow-Pawed Reaper Leopard is pretty rare and powerful, yet she ruined it like this. Pity indeed."

"Put it out of misery, dear."

"You think this weirdo can evolve it? Pff..."

However, as John fed all the content he prepared from the four resources and infused Geno Points with physical contact, everyone’s eyes suddenly began to widen.

The leopard suddenly surged with aura while atmospheric spirit energy began whirling around it and getting absorbed by it, triggering a proper evolution!

In just several seconds, a magnificent and beautiful white cocoon with thick black design and dark blue icy shard patterns reflected within everyone’s shocked eyes.

"No fucking way!"

"That’s a successful evolution cocoon...."

"What...?"

The girl’s eyes shone while she couldn’t help but tear up. "Miku..."

John laughed, his hearty voice booming, "There, I showed my service. This Snow-Pawed Leopard will evolve into a Blackfrost Hunter Lynx, with the potential to reach Emperor-rank!"

"I will come here tomorrow at this time again to collect my payment, which is 50 Gold Essence Coins for you as my first customer. That’s 80% discount instead of 50% by the way and my price varies depending on the monsters and customers."

The surrounding area was dead silent.

John chuckled and waved his hand, "This Sage Kindred shall take his leave now."

Using Umbral Drift right over the surface to make it hard for people to see it, John quickly left the market before emerging two kilometers away from an empty allay.

He left the city, entered the wilderness, changed his getup back to the black outfit of the Ouroboros Sect, and returned to the city as John Wicked.

’Let’s eat something and return. I need to start working to create my Spirit Physique, so I can train Monster Geno Art on it instead of on my body.’
