Chapter 85: Pymon’s GPB

’This is interesting...’

John had completely inspected Pymon and found out that a certain aspect of his attributes that he was born with had been suppressed by this new evolution, and it was preventing the talent from awakening.

It was the Darkwind.

Pymon turned out to have quite a powerful potential in the Darkwind.

His Wind was already dark and had an additional characteristic of Decay. John didn’t know it was such a potent within Pymon, but when he gave the resources to the Pymon for this Thunderblitz Tempest Falcon evolution, the potential of Darkwind was suppressed in the process.

"Master, can I awaken my talent?" Pymon pitifully asked.

John smiled and patted Pymon’s head. "You worked hard enough to get your Gene Potential to 100. Come on, it’s time for you to get strong."

"And awaken talent?"

"More than just a talent," John grinned.

John went to the garden with Pymon and looked at the many plants.

"There, found it."

John picked up a plant that had both Wind and Darkness attributes. It was a cyan flower with green patterns and eight floating dark purple tentacles that faced toward the sun. 𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑝𝘶𝘣.𝑐𝘰𝘮

He processed this flower into a powder and directly gave it to Pymon after telling him to open his mouth.

"Lie down, calm down, and bite down onto the ground. You will feel pain, but also power."

At that, John triggered Gene Potential Burst for Pymon.

Pymon’s Gene Potential went from 100 to 0 before different attributes of energies started whirling around him, especially darkness and wind.

From within Pymon, the potential of Darkwind unleashed and absorbed the energy of the resource before branding itself into Pymon’s reconstructing DNA, adding to and modifying Pymon’s power sources.

After some minutes, the whirling energies dispersed and Pymon got up, pulling out his beak from the ground.

He looked sharper, his eyes changed shape slightly. His feathers, talons, and eyelids acquired dark blue patterns, but most prominently, there was a distinct dark blue crown with black and golden patterns above his head.

"I feel new powers in myself, Master!" Pymon’s eyes shone with excitement. "I think it’s my talent!"

John inspected Pymon, but he was first surprised by Pymon’s skills. "Pymon, did your skill change during your training?"

"Hehe, yeah. I upgraded Cyclone Veil into Blitzerblow Screen when my Wind mastery reached level 2. And I also got Combo skills, but it looks like all my skills slightly changed, and one was even entirely replaced, and I lost combo skills on it. I want to try the new stuff, Master!"

"Wait a bit."

’It looks like competition among Monsters and such facilities here can be a good development factor for Monsters,’ John thought while smiling as he looked at the other new stuff on Pymon.

John was looking at all the skills in detail.

The changes were significant.

"Alright, let’s try out your new skills."

Pymon had replaced his previous Arcwing Thunderburst skill with Galestorm Burst, and also gained a combo skill called Spiral Zone with it, creating an area with chaotic wind flow to disrupt the target’s movement and even projectiles.

But now, Galestorm Burst turned into Blackgale Thunderburst, a more powerful and deadlier offense-type skill—Creating a forward-moving, powerful black gale by flapping wings. This black gale would reduce the defense of the targets, while the crackling thunderbolts traveling through the gale would damage the target significantly.

Tempest Streak remained the same in name, but its speed slightly increased due to Pymon’s Wind attribute turning into Darkwind.

However, Tempest Streak’s combo skill changed from Lightning Whip to Nyxbolt Whip. It was certainly more powerful than before.

Cyclone Veil turned into Abyss Cyclone Veil, but its combo move remained the same, only in name of course.

Abyss Cyclone Veil was a defensive skill, which became more powerful as its stormy barrier now not only redirected the projectiles better but also conjured black stormy feathers that would actively seek incoming projectiles to become obstacles and disrupt them!

The combo move Stormbound Wave, which was dispersing Veil and fueling it into a raging wave of stormy water to push targets and damage them, also became stronger with the Darkwind making it faster and more deadly due to the addition of the Decay characteristic.

Winged Tempest Blasters remained the same in name, but John saw how those orbs were darker, and upon the blast, it left lingering Darkwind to deal damage per second. It was more deadly now!

Its combo move was different previously, but it changed to Nightwing Rapture. John checked it out and was dumbfounded.

"Holy, that’s a crazy combo!"

Pymon was laughing manically while flying in a dark streak with ten orbs of Wingest Tempest Blasters floating around!

Activating Nightwing Rapture while releasing Winged Tempest Blasters would instead make the orbs circulate around Pymon rather than shooting down directly. While circulating, they would become more powerful with Darkwind infusion from Nightwing Rapture’s process.

Although energy consumption was high, Pymon could combine the circular orbs into a massive one while flying and shoot it at anyone with Nightwing Rapture at a super-fast speed, dealing high single-burst damage with high impact, shock, and decay!

"Alright, let’s check out the last skill that was completely replaced," John said with a grin.

"Ok, Master!"

Blightbolt Thundergale.

Pymon used the skill and shrilled loudly as his voice rang far and wide. Instantly, energies gathered above Pymon from his body before turning into a whirling black cloud of Darkwind with streaming water droplets through which the lightning crackled and tendriled itself.

If that cloud appeared over someone out of nowhere, crackling with ranging lightning and thunder bursts, they’d be scared shitless.

"This skill has higher basic consumption than other skills, Master," Pymon said as all of his soul energy was squeezed out while the cloud synchronized in his control.

In the next moment, a strange golden lightning bolt whirling with black and dark blue streams shot down with devastating speed and struck the ground, blasting the earth open as a small crater formed, throwing out debris all around.

The whirling cloud above became smaller.

Pymon unleashed three more bolts from that cloud in quick succession before it entirely vanished.

"Damn, that’s like an ultimate skill," John said as he clicked his tongue seeing the destructiveness of that skill. "But it costs an entire 50% of your maximum soul energy."

"Yes, master."

"Well, learn to control that skill and wield it better so you can become proficient in executing it at the desired cost and intensity."

"Yes, Master! I will train right now!"

John smiled. "Don’t forget to become familiar with your innate talent."

Unlike Alfred’s Innate Talent which triggered once his vitality dropped below 50%, Pymon’s Innate Talent could work depending on his usage of Darkwind energy.

[Innate Talent: Crown of Abyssal Gale]: Depending on the wind blowing around Pymon, all of his skills deal additional Darkwind damage and reduce the target’s defense.
