Chapter 47: Hector and Lisa

Hector stretched out a hand to shake theirs, which Kaizer took firmly. He took his time to finally analyze the guy and realized that he was quite a nice-looking fellow.

Hector had spiky yellow hair that was definitely dyed and a slightly fair skin tone that showed he was somewhat pampered. He had typical brown eyes as well as a neatly styled goatee that was also dyed blonde.

He wore a casual pink Hawaiian shirt over a white t-shirt underneath, his neck lined with a wooden rosary. His hands were placed in the pockets of his loose white shorts and his feet dragged along the ground in purple-colored sandals.

Kaizer released his name and introduced himself. "Kaizer Lunin, and this is my cousin, Rina Lunin." _{𝚗𝚘v𝚙𝚞b.𝚌𝚘m}

Hector enthusiastically extended a hand to Rina afterward, but the young lady just glanced at it and then looked away, clearly not interested. Hector could only laugh awkwardly and continue to lead them into the academy grounds.

"So, are you guys second-generation espers or first-generation? Looking at the fact that you came unaccompanied, you’re probably first-generation, right?" Hector asked casually.

"Does it matter?" Rina asked with a frown.

Hector was annoyed by her tone, but a casual glance in her direction and seeing that tightly stretched blouse made his anger bleed away like a burst dam.

"Well, not really. In this school, your background doesn’t really matter unless you come from a family of powerful espers, but what’s more important is your own power and potential. As for being first-generation or second-generation, it’s only relevant for social cliques and all that."

"How many students are there enrolled?" Kaizer asked curiously, looking at a bunch of passing students who waved at Hector, their ages disparate as can be.

"A tough question. In all Esper Academy branches worldwide? Maybe like a million people? But here alone in the headquarters, we have like 12,000 espers enrolled as students and around 1,500 staff including instructors," Hector answered after a bit of thought.

"Hmm? You’re quite knowledgeable for a sleazy-looking guy," Rina couldn’t help but commend.

Hector’s eyes lit up and he laughed proudly. "Well, that’s a given. I am Hector Dais, son of the great Dorian Dais. I’m probably the most well-networked student in the academy right now. If there’s anything you need, you can always come to me!"

Rina snorted and looked away, making Hector feel like he had made some progress. Meanwhile, Kaizer shook his head because this fellow was wasting his time. Even if this guy was her type, she still had no intention of being courted by anyone, by him, Kaizer, right now.

"Alright, the academy grounds are quite huge, so we’ll take the student transport to get to the administrative building," Hector said as he led them to what looked like a bus stop.

There they saw many flashy cars parked of all types, from two-door supercars to four-door salons, SUVs, and even pickups. All of them were painted in a uniform color and parked in areas linked to their model type, with drivers seated within, waiting for students to charter their services.

Looking at the cars here, even Kaizer and Rina, who grew up wealthy, had to admit that the Esper Academy was probably rolling in cash. If these were the public transport vehicles, then what were the other facilities like?

"Yo Hector, looking for a ride? Who are these fashionable bums?" A female voice called out from the side, revealing a loosely dressed tanned woman with curly orange hair.

She was tall at six feet with a toned body revealed by her cyan shirt that was tied around her sternum, revealing parts of her orange bra and her entire abdomen area, along with blue booty shorts that ate into her pronounced backside, topped off with cowgirl boots that reached her upper calf.

Hector smiled casually. "Yo Lisa. These fashionable bums are a bunch of first-generation here to sign up. Be careful though, they are quite powerful and got quite the attitude."

Lisa’s eyes scanned Rina and Kaizer, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Kaizer. "If he’s this handsome, he can give me attitude any day of the week~"

Rina immediately floated between her and Kaizer, giving Lisa a cold look without saying anything. A hint of black aura radiated from Rina, making both Hector and Lisa feel a chill deep in their hearts as if death itself had come to pay a visit.

Kaizer grabbed Rina and brought her to his side, giving her a stern glance once more. As for Lisa, he did not pay her much mind because he could tell that this woman was putting up a fake front of promiscuity. In truth, she was not even interested in men and was actually drooling more over Rina than him.

Why she hid this aspect about her, Kaizer did not know and was not interested in finding out.

"Man, quite chilly here, huh? Lisa, you got your car ready?" Hector quickly changed the subject as he rubbed the back of his neck.

Lisa gave Rina a deep look and became less boisterous, smiling as she patted the pickup beside her. "Of course I got her ready and waiting. Come on, hop in and I will give you a free ride to the admin building."

Hector grinned widely and jumped into the front passenger seat while Rina and Kaizer entered the backseat together, placing their luggage in the pickup’s back. Lisa got into the driver seat and strapped on her seatbelt before prompting them to do the same.

She immediately stepped on the accelerator and revved out of the parking area crazily, causing other drivers to dive to the side in fear, cursing at her while she laughed. Hector rolled down the window and left one arm out, greeting those passing by on the sidewalk at this crazy speed.

Kaizer simply crossed his legs and sat down with a cool expression while Rina also rolled down her window and glanced out, enjoying the wind passing through her hair. She sneakily glanced back to see that indeed, Kaizer was looking at her backside, which was now practically in his face, chuckling internally that her brother was so easy to deal with.

No one knew his preference more than her, and she was well aware that she was his preference to the dot. Since he was unsure and wavering, she did not see why she couldn’t use some tricks to push him over the edge, and this was just one of them.

Unbeknownst to Rina, everyone else in the car was also sneaking a look, the driver and the passenger as well, and this almost caused them to crash into a nearby junction if not for Lisa’s quick reactions in snapping on the brake and drifting around the curb, to the hooting and hollering of more students.

The luggage in the back almost flipped out, but Kaizer casually tapped a finger on his thigh and used his telekinesis to fasten them, making them the most stable part of the car. Rina naturally fell onto him due to the shuffling, and she did nothing to remove herself from her now more comfortable spot in Kaizer’s lap.

Kaizer though, could only close his eyes and concentrate in order not to react physically to the soft and warm body now pressing onto him, because he did not want to give Rina any more ideas while he was still making a decision on the matters concerning them.

Soon, the car came into the parking area of a large oval building that was surprisingly majestic yet formal. The group got down, with Lisa passing a hand through her hair while mumbling about distractions, while Hector simply jumped down.

"Alright, the enrollment is pretty simple. You go in, give your details and then have your esper abilities assessed. Depending on the grade you’re given as well as your age, you will be assigned to an Echelon, which is basically a class group."

Lisa came over with folded arms and a smile. "Echelons are everything here, your entire reception both socially and in terms of treatment depends on it. Echelons go from the 100th to the 1st, with Hector here being in the 3rd."

Lisa smiled playfully, "As for me, I’m in the 5th echelon. Not as great, but we of the top 5 basically rule the school, so I hope you guys can get in there, though it’s rare."

Kaizer nodded and wondered where he and Rina would be placed when Hector nudged them to go. Rina glanced at their luggage, but the duo assured them that it would be fine, concealing mischievous smiles on their faces as they watched Kaizer pull the distrustful Rina away.

"Why? They are obviously going to mess with us as a form of hazing, right?" Rina asked Kaizer once they were out of earshot.

Kaizer nodded. "The administration building has been scanned by me. They are still within my 300-meter range if we go in and have our tests done, so I have a surprise waiting for them."
