“Tang Yu? What are you doing here?” Li Xue, who had just come back from work, saw someone squatting by the roadside and, upon closer inspection, realized it was Tang Yu.
Tang Yu lifted her face, which was stained with tears, and her red, swollen eyes looked helpless and pitiful.
Seeing her like this, Li Xue’s heart sank, especially at the sight of Tang Yu’s swollen lips. “What happened? What’s going on? Is it… Ye Sihan’s doing?”
“I want to go to another city. Li Xue, I want to try to escape. I can’t stand it anymore.” Tang Yu shook her head as tears streamed down in disarray.
“Okay, go and hide first. I’ll take care of the child. Once you’ve found a place to stay, I’ll bring the child to you.”

“I really don’t want to meddle in your affairs. But for old times’ sake, I don’t want you to die too miserably,” Ye Yuli’s facial features tense.
Tang Yu nervously bit her lip. Would she really die a terrible death?

“If you’re willing, I can help you leave.”
Tang Yu looked at him, puzzled, “Why? To oppose Ye Sihan? Ye Yuli, when did I ever know you to be so nice? You weren’t like this when you had an affair.”
Ye Yuli’s eyes flashed with a fine sheen and a hint of sharpness. He took a step forward, pressing Tang Yu against the wall, his breath deepening, “Don’t bring up the past.”
Tang Yu’s heart was filled with irony. All the scum of the earth were the same – their wrongdoings must not be mentioned, as doing so would provoke a confrontation.
But she really was at the end of her rope. If Ye Yuli wanted to settle past accounts by helping her this way, it wasn’t out of the question.
Just as she was about to speak, Tang Yu’s body suddenly tensed, the sense of danger that invaded the air all too familiar.
Then came a voice like the Devil’s, “Is this a bad time for me to arrive?”
Ye Yuli was about to let go of Tang Yu when she raised her hand and slapped him across the face, “Get away!”
Ye Yuli froze for a moment, looking at her in disbelief.
Tang Yu pushed Ye Yuli away and moved to one side, “Mr. Ye, I have nothing to do with him, he’s the one who insisted on approaching me.”
Ye Yuli stared unblinkingly at Tang Yu, “Yeah, just having a word with her. Brother, don’t get the wrong idea. I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now.”
After Ye Yuli left, Tang Yu stood there, not daring to move an inch as Ye Sihan’s gaze pierced through her. The oppressive atmosphere and chill in the air enveloped her restless body, and she could barely catch her breath.
“You… you heard, it’s really not my fault…” Tang Yu’s words were cut off when she saw Ye Sihan closing in on her. She wanted to step back, but after just one step, the wall behind her blocked her escape.
In her panic, a dark shadow loomed over her, stifling her breath.

Tang Yu nervously thought, was he going to dismiss her? If that was the case…
“You love acting so much, go to the entertainment industry.”
“…Entertainment industry?” Tang Yu’s heart raced as she felt seen through, yet she couldn’t grasp Ye Sihan’s intent.
