Chapter 55: Chapter 55: I Didn’t Do It on Purpose

Chapter 55 -55: I Didn’t Do It on Purpose

In a corner of the hotel’s second-floor restaurant, Ye Yuli sat alone, glancing at his wristwatch.

Before long, several men clad in black shirts and pants flooded into the restaurant entrance, their unfriendly demeanor aimed in Ye Yuli’s direction.

Ye Yuli lifted his head, looking over, but he recognized the man leading the group, one of Ye Sihan’s personal bodyguards.

“What’s the matter?”

The bodyguard didn’t speak, surveying the area.

Since Ye Yuli had booked the entire floor, spotting anyone was straightforward.

Apart from a supervisor and two waiters, there were no other people.

Not to mention any sign of Tang Yu.

The lead bodyguard had an icy, all-business demeanor, “Where is Miss Tang?”

Ye Sihan frowned, “Why would she be here?”

“We wouldn’t be here if we weren’t sure.”

Ye Yuli fell silent; Ye Sihan was not likely to be mistaken.

He couldn’t help but look towards the entrance, was Tang Yu here too?

He had the place to himself, not serving other customers, was she driven away?

At the restaurant entrance, a slender figure appeared, and Ye Yuli, catching sight, called out to her, “Tang Yu.”

Tang Yu turned around and saw Ye Yuli, as well as the several tall and bulky men beside him.

Then the tall and bulky men, radiating a menacing aura, walked over, “Miss Tang, please come with us.”

“Where to?”

“Just come with us,” said the bodyguard in an icy tone.

Tang Yu recognized the man leading them and knew it was Ye Sihan’s intention.

Ye Yuli approached and asked Tang Yu, “What’s going on? Why are you here?”

“It’s none of your business.” Tang Yu replied, then turned and left.

The bodyguards followed behind her, akin to escorting a prisoner.

After she got into the car, Tang Yu was driven away from the Golden Dragon Hotel.

The sky outside the car window had darkened completely, reflecting Tang Yu’s anxious silhouette on the glass.

An hour later, the car stopped in front of Ye Mansion, and Tang Yu got out, walking towards the hall inside the house.

The shadowy figure on the sofa unexpectedly flashed before her eyes, making Tang Yu’s heartbeat accelerate.

This was her first encounter with Ye Sihan since coming back from the countryside.

His presence was powerful and solemn, exuding a daunting and somber atmosphere.

She stepped forward and stopped within what she thought was a safe distance of one meter from Ye Sihan, “Did you want to see me?”

“Where have you been?” Ye Sihan slightly lifted his face; the light fell on his profound features, shadowy and ominously dangerous.

“I… I was at the Golden Dragon Hotel…” Tang Yu said.

“Have you missed me these past few days?” Ye Sihan’s gaze turned icy cold.

“No, I didn’t, I really went to the Golden Dragon Hotel for work…” Before Tang Yu could finish her sentence, she saw Ye Sihan abruptly rise, the air around him trembling with danger.

“It seems I need to teach you a lesson,” Ye Sihan grabbed her wrist and dragged her inside—

“Ah!” Tang Yu panicked, “Ye Sihan, what are you doing? Let go, it hurts…”

Her slender wrist felt as if it were clamped by iron pliers, both skin and bone throbbing with pain.

The bag she was carrying fell to the ground amidst the struggle.

At the door, Ye Sihan grasped her chin, closing in, his breath dangerous, “I’ll ask one more time, what did you go to do?”

“I really went there for work, if you don’t believe me you can ask… Ah!” Tang Yu’s words were cut short as she was pushed through the door.

Tang Yu was drawn backward, watching helplessly as the light in front of her grew more distant, while behind her was an endless abyss.

She reached out her hand, trying to catch that glimmer of light.

But she fell down, the door closed, and she could see no light at all.

“Ah!” Tang Yu had claustrophobia, surrounded by darkness, her breathing began to be abnormal, and her body weakly collapsed to the ground. “Don’t… save me…”

Her eyes were wide open, yet she could not see a sliver of light.

It seemed her entire being, her entire soul, was trapped in this narrow, enclosed black space.

She covered her neck with her hands, breathing forcefully, each breath feeling like it might be her last.

She was about to suffocate to death.

A ringing from a cellphone came from the bag on the ground; next to it was Ye Sihan’s black leather shoe, a silent threat.

Picking up the bag from the ground, he took out the incessantly ringing cellphone inside; the incoming call was from an unsaved number.

Ye Sihan’s fingertips slid over the green answer button, and immediately the dissatisfied voice of a woman came through. “Tang Yu, the makeup artist, what’s the matter with you? You disappeared after doing half of my makeup; is this your professional attitude? Don’t bother coming back, I won’t pay you a dime.”

Ye Sihan’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, dangerously, “Did you have an appointment with Tang Yu at the Golden Dragon Hotel?”

The woman on the other end, not expecting a man’s voice, spoke in a deep, cold tone that sent a shiver through her even across the phone, “Yes… yes, because I’m hosting a dinner at the Golden Dragon Hotel. Is there a problem… ”

Before she could finish her question, the line was cut off.

Ye Sihan turned and walked toward the secret room.

As the door was pushed open, a ray of light spilled in, just enough to shine on the spot where Tang Yu lay.

Tang Yu lay flat, her body twitching slightly, her feet rubbing weakly against the ground, her eyes nearly lifeless, and she breathed with difficulty.

Ye Sihan stepped forward to lift her up, leaving the secret room and going to the hall.

He ordered Wen Bo, “Turn on all the lights.”

Wen Bo hurried off to turn on the other lights, and when he came back after turning on the lights, he saw Mr. Ye, on the sofa, kissing Tang Yu. He lowered his head and turned away.

Tang Yu’s lips were slightly parted, greedily drinking in the fresh oxygen.

It seemed not to be enough, her two hands tightly holding Ye Sihan’s face, fearful of the oxygen cutting off.

Not until her breathing returned to normal, not until her oxygen-starved brain began to clear, and she met those abyss-like dark eyes, did her pupils contract.

Realizing her hands were on Ye Sihan’s face, she withdrew them as if burned, “I… I didn’t mean to…”

Ye Sihan gave her a cold glance, his emotions unreadable, standing straight up, looking down high and lofty at the person curled up on the sofa.

“I really went to work, please believe me,” Tang Yu said fearfully, her voice choked and pitiful, “Don’t lock me up again, I’m afraid of the dark…”

Ye Sihan’s dark eyes watched her for a moment, said nothing, and turned away.

Tang Yu watched Ye Sihan’s figure vanish, her expression turning contemplative.

She had learned that Ye Yuli was dining at the Golden Dragon Hotel that night, coincidentally Li Xue was to go there to do makeup for a client in the evening. So Tang Yu took Li Xue’s place.

Apart from informing the client, she did not reveal it to anyone else.

She did this as a test.

As a result, Ye Sihan really could find out instantly where she was.

So, how did Ye Sihan come to know her whereabouts in such a short span of time?

The possibility of being watched by someone was ruled out, what other methods could there be? Cellphone… tracking?

Tang Yu glanced at the handbag and phone thrown on the sofa, got up, walked over, picked them up, and went upstairs, entering the room she had occupied before.

After entering the room, she checked her phone immediately.

There, she saw the call log from ten minutes ago, unsaved, but she knew it was that client’s number.

Yes, if Ye Sihan hadn’t checked clearly, he wouldn’t have let her out.

At least not so soon.
