Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Installing a Tracker on Her Phone

Chapter 56 -56: Installing a Tracker on Her Phone

Tang Yu searched through her phone but couldn’t find any trace of being located.

It was impossible that someone had logged into her phone ID, because that would not only allow them to locate her but also know her other messages, such as the existence of her child.

Of course, her phone ID had a complex password, and since Ye Sihan wanted to act without leaving any trace, this method was out of the question.

When she couldn’t find anything inside, Tang Yu scrutinized the exterior of the phone, even the charging port, but everything seemed normal.

Then she checked where the SIM card was inserted.

Upon pulling out the SIM card, she discovered a black piece smaller than a fingernail and thin affixed to the card.

Could this be the thing that was tracking her location? She remembered that it wasn’t there when she first inserted the card.

After pondering for a moment, Tang Yu reinserted the SIM card back into the phone. Her heart pounded, a reaction to the chilling behavior of Ye Sihan.

This man was terribly frightening! He had actually put a tracking device on her phone!

That’s why she found it strange that she could be so easily found by Ye Sihan even when she hid in such a remote countryside.

In that case, not even running to the ends of the Earth could help her escape his reach.

When had the tracker been installed? She hadn’t noticed at all!

Her phone buzzed with a new message.

It was from Ye Yuli: Call me when you’re free.

Tang Yu thought, was she supposed to laugh at herself for being taken away right before Ye Yuli’s eyes?

Without leaving a trace, Tang Yu deleted the message and lay in bed after her bath, unable to sleep.

Since she was testing Ye Sihan, she knew she wouldn’t be able to return and had already discussed this with Li Xue and the children in advance.

Remembering the desperation of being close to death in the secret room, fear still lingered in her body.

Ye Sihan knew about her claustrophobia but still did what he did; he was too cruel.

Tang Yu eventually drifted off into a restless sleep and didn’t rest well through the night, but she still woke up early the next day.

After getting dressed, she came downstairs just in time to see Ye Sihan coming out of the study. She immediately froze in place.

Ye Sihan’s cold gaze flickered toward her, but he didn’t stop walking.

Warmaster Wen approached, “Miss Tang, breakfast is ready.”

Tang Yu wanted to leave directly but had no choice but to follow Ye Sihan to the dining room, forcing herself to keep calm.

A lavish breakfast was laid out on the table, and only Ye Sihan and Tang Yu were there to dine, the atmosphere severely oppressive due to Ye Sihan’s presence.

Even though the man had done nothing, his aura alone was enough to intimidate.

Tang Yu quietly ate her food, acting as if nothing had happened the night before.

As for the tracker in her phone, she dared not reveal a thing, pretending to be unaware of it.

“Was your client from last night?” A deep and commanding voice suddenly broke the silence.

Tang Yu’s heartbeat skipped, wondering why he would suddenly bring it up. She swallowed her food and said, “It was originally Sister Xue’s client, but she had something come up and asked me to take over for her.”

“Quite the coincidence that Ye Yuli just happened to be there,” Ye Sihan said with a sharp chill in his eyes.

“Uh… I’m not sure about that,” Tang Yu said, her eyes flashing with bewilderment.

Ye Sihan reached out, grasped her chin, and said with a fierce and uncompromising force, “You’d better truly be unaware.”

Tang Yu pursed her lips innocently and met his dark gaze with feigned composure.

“Behave, and you’ll have an easier time.”

“Okay, I will,” Tang Yu agreed, unnaturally submissive.

She left Ye Mansion in Ye Sihan’s car.

The vehicle dropped her off right at the entrance of her residential complex.

Watching the Rolls-Royce disappear, Tang Yu returned to the rental house, where Li Xue, having sent the kids to school, was at home.

As soon as she walked in, Li Xue asked, “How did it go? Did you discover anything?”

Tang Yu took out her phone, opened the SIM card slot, and pulled out the card to show Li Xue the black chip on it.

“What is this?” Li Xue asked.

“If I’m not mistaken, it’s a locator.”

Li Xue was shocked, “Did Ye Sihan install this? Then he could know where you are at all times? This… this is too terrifying!” She imagined being watched like that and thought she would have nightmares.

“I’ll take a photo of this with your phone and go to the computer city to ask if this thing can be removed,” Tang Yu said.

Using Li Xue’s phone was to avoid alerting Ye Sihan to her unusual comings and goings from the rental unit.

Upon arriving at the computer city, Tang Yu showed several cell phone vendors the photo she had taken, but none of them knew what it was.

Finally, a younger man took a look, thinking she wanted to buy it, and said, “You can’t find this kind of locator in computer city.”

Every time Tang Yu asked, she never specified what it was, yet this young man recognized it! She was thrilled!

“This item is rare on the market; ordinary people don’t need it,” the young man looked at her suspiciously, perhaps guessing something.

He knew about it simply because he had paid attention when he saw someone else showing off the actual item during procurement.

“Can it be removed?” Tang Yu asked.

“It’s disposable. Once removed, it’s useless.”

“If it becomes useless, will the person tracking it realize immediately?”

“If it has no function, they will definitely know, yeah.”

When Tang Yu left the computer city, her palms were sweating coldly and her legs felt weak, relieved as if she had just survived a close call.

It was a good thing she hadn’t impulsively removed the locator last night.

Otherwise, once Ye Sihan noticed, with his terrifying acumen, he would associate her appearance at the Golden Dragon Hotel and realize what she was doing.

And then, her fate would be far worse than just being locked in a dark room.

After returning home, Tang Yu discussed the matter with Li Xue.

“Could this thing really stay on the SIM card forever? Is Ye Sihan a psychopath or what?” Li Xue was no longer doubtful, but certain.

“As long as the movements do not hinder Ye Sihan, there shouldn’t be any issues…” Tang Yu said in a subdued tone.

Even so, the risks involved were still high!

For example, what if Ye Sihan, who monitored the locator, noticed something amiss when she went to pick up the children from school? And if she took the kids out for fun with a locator on her, how insecure would that be?

Li Xue understood her concerns and said, “From now on, I’ll be the one to pick up the kids from school. If we go out to play, just leave the phone at home.”

Tang Yu hesitated, “Sister Xue, this isn’t a matter of just a day or two…”

“Don’t be embarrassed with me; as the children’s godmother, I have a responsibility and duty to protect them,” Li Xue reassured her gently. “Besides, it may well just be a day or two since things will eventually get resolved.”

Tang Yu nodded. Yeah, how could she possibly remain under Ye Sihan’s control like this indefinitely?

Ye Sihan would get tired of it too, wouldn’t he?

But she wouldn’t just wait passively for that day; she was planning to escape in advance.

Anyway, now that she knew about the locator, she knew how to avoid it.

In the morning, she had gone to the film set, where Tang Yu, dressed in ancient costume, was filming.

She didn’t notice a car that had driven up and stopped nearby, observing her.

Behind the wheel sat Ye Yuli, looking at Tang Yu through the car window.

He could tell from her facial expression and state of mind that no bad things had happened to her after she was taken away yesterday.

He knew all too well what kind of person Ye Sihan was—ruthless, callous, cold-hearted.

Moreover, as Yu Zhaohui’s daughter, Tang Yu was in even more danger.

Now that Tang Yu was unharmed, she must have survived the peril.

Ye Yuli was about to start the car and leave, acting as if he had never been there.

A knock sounded on the other side of the window.
