Chapter 72 -72: We Won’t Harm You

Fortunately, Tang Yu was not affected and stayed in the crew, doing her acting as she was supposed to.

During the meal break, an assistant came to find her, “Tang Yu, someone is looking for you, he says he’s your father.”

“What?”

“He’s called… Tang Fulin,” the assistant said after thinking for a moment.

Tang Yu’s chopsticks dropped to the ground. After regaining her composure, she picked them up and said, “I don’t know him.”

The assistant looked at her strangely and left.

Tang Yu couldn’t believe it. Back when she was in high school, Tang Fulin had disappeared without a trace.

Six or seven years had passed, and now he showed up, why?

After filming ended around five or six o’clock, Tang Yu left in the crew’s car.

She was dropped off at the subway entrance and took the subway back home.

For some reason, she always felt like she was being followed.

Impossible, right? She had such heavy makeup on in the video clips, and now she was wearing a mask, how could she have been recognized?

A misperception?

Tang Yu got off the subway, and that feeling of being followed became even stronger; she didn’t dare head home.

She went to another street instead.

The footsteps behind her got closer and closer. Just as Tang Yu was about to run, she heard a man calling from behind her—

“Xiaoyu.”

Tang Yu stopped. Although it had been many years, she would never forget her father’s voice.

Turning around, she saw the man two meters away, familiar yet strange.

Familiar was the slightly aged face; strange was the loving look in his eyes.

Tang Fulin had always shown disapproval of her, and she had never experienced any fatherly love.

“Don’t remember your dad? Dad has missed you a lot,” Tang Fulin advanced a few steps.

Tang Yu resisted the urge to step back, “Are you the one following me?”

“Because I wasn’t sure if it was my beloved daughter or not! Xiaoyu, you won’t blame me, right?”

Tang Yu did not answer his question, “Did you find me by watching my video online?”

She believed her face was not easy to recognize, especially by Tang Fulin, who had never cared whether his biological daughter was dead or alive.

“I went to the countryside a while back; there were signs that someone had lived in the house, and I guessed it was you. I called your mom yesterday, and although she wouldn’t tell me where you were, it’s still possible to find out. I couldn’t quite recognize the face in the video, but I remembered the name.”

Tang Yu’s face was indifferent, unwilling to give him any more expression than necessary.

So, he was the one who called Yu Zhaohui in the car yesterday.

“Why have you come back? If you disappeared, you should stay disappeared!”

He spent his days out gambling and indulging in vices, rarely seen at home more than twice a year.

Whenever she asked him for money for her education, she was scolded.

Even as her grandfather lay dying, calling out for his son, he never showed up.

Does such a person even understand the concepts of home and family?

Tang Fulin seemed distressed, moving a few steps closer to his daughter, “I wanted to come back too, but I owed money outside. If the debt collectors knew where my family was, would they spare you and your grandfather? Gambling is not a good habit. I’ve quit it over these years, cleaned up my mess, and now I’ve come back to find you, hoping it’s not too late. My daughter is really beautiful!”

Tang Yu did not know if she could believe his words because Tang Fulin had more than once claimed to quit gambling but never did.

“Xiaoyu, have you ever had a boyfriend?” Tang Fulin asked.

“What for?”

“Just curious.”

“I did, but we broke up.”

“So your first time is gone?”

Tang Yu frowned, instantly feeling uncomfortable.

Isn’t it too private for a father to ask such a question?

And after so many years of not seeing each other, is this what you care about?

Don’t you ask if she’s been well?

“If she’s not around, it will make a big difference!” Tang Fulin seemed regretful.

Tang Yu had yet to understand what he was really talking about when she saw Tang Fulin pounce on her with the fastest motion, a towel smothering her nose—

“Mmm!”

Her eyes widened in shock.

The pungent smell burrowed into her respiratory tract, impossible to stop.

“Mmph!” Tang Yu tried to struggle, but as the strength in her body gradually faded, her legs grew weak, and she fell into Tang Fulin’s arms, passing out.

Once Tang Yu had fainted, Tang Fulin looked around cautiously to make sure no one had noticed them.

He did see a black Rolls-Royce parked near the curb, silent and still, unknown when it had stopped there.

Tang Fulin felt a chill run down his spine instinctively, as though he had been targeted by a beast lurking in the dark night.

But it must have been his own overthinking.

Such wealthy people wouldn’t bother themselves with others’ affairs.

So he hailed a taxi, picked up Tang Yu, and got in.

The taxi driver glanced at them through the rearview mirror, to which Tang Fulin said, “My daughter, she’s not feeling well, I’m taking her home.”

The driver looked away and drove off.

The Rolls-Royce remained stationary.

The driver, who was also a bodyguard, watched quietly.

He was already headed for the residential area.

But then he saw Tang Yu turning down another road, followed by a man all along.

Given Tang Yu’s expression while speaking to the man, they seemed to know each other.

The driver had originally suspected that the relationship between Tang Yu and the man was unclear, only to see her directly pass out from being drugged.

Mr. Ye in the back seat remained calm, having also witnessed the scene.

Unless Mr. Ye gave an order, he wouldn’t take any independent action.

The car arrived at a house in the suburban area.

A middle-aged woman opened the door, let Tang Fulin carrying Tang Yu in, looked around the doorstep to make sure no one suspicious was there, and then closed the door.

Tang Fulin laid Tang Yu on the couch and asked, “How about it? Not bad, right?”

In the house, not only was there Tang Fulin’s wife Chang Wenlin but also his daughter Tang Yifei.

Tang Yifei, two years younger than Tang Yu and still in college, was standing beside Chang Wenlin looking fair and lovely, and asked, “Is she my half-sister from the same father?”

After divorcing, Tang Fulin had married this woman.

His previous affairs were known to his wife and daughter.

Tang Fulin said, “If she takes your place, you can be safe. Too bad she’s no longer a virgin, the price will have to be heavily discounted.”

Chang Wenlin declared, “I don’t care, the gambling debt you owe is your problem, don’t think about letting your daughter pay it back with her body! Yifei is going to marry into a wealthy family with her virtue intact.”

“I know, that’s why I brought Tang Yu here.”

Tang Yifei suggested, “How can it be discounted? Just sell her a few more times, and that should do it.”

Eager, Tang Fulin went to contact his creditor, finished the call, and turned around to gaze at Tang Yu lying on the couch, very satisfied with her face and figure.

Beautiful, with a curvaceous body—even if she wasn’t a virgin, she could still fetch a good price.

Tang Yu woke up feeling weak all over, the first thing she saw was the unfamiliar room.

In the room stood a man and two women, whom she did not recognize; however, she clearly knew Tang Fulin.

Recalling what happened before she lost consciousness, she sat up in alarm, stood up, and looked at them defensively, “What are you going to do to me?”

Tang Fulin soothed, “Xiaoyu, don’t be nervous. This is your father’s wife and daughter, we won’t harm you.”

Tang Yu looked at them warily with indifference, “Then why did you drug me and make me faint?”

“It’s mainly because we need your help with something,” Tang Fulin said. “Dad owes some money and the other party said they would write off all the debt if my daughter spends one night with him.”
