Chapter 86: Chapter 86: You Have a Fever
Chapter 86 -86: You Have a Fever
Tang Yu’s body hurt so much that she couldn’t even curl up.
The process, akin to torture, made her cry until she could hardly make a sound in her throat.
She collapsed into the chair, shattered to pieces.
Tang Yu felt like she had a very, very long dream, in which she couldn’t wake up no matter what.
It was a nightmare, a pitch-black world, where she could see nothing, hear nothing.
Was it Hell after death?
Otherwise, why would her mood be so desolate?
When Tang Yu was conscious, she smelled an acrid scent of disinfectant.
Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, and she slowly lifted her eyelids, her eyes weakly moving.
There was a woman in a white coat standing beside her, fussing over an IV bottle hanging on a rack.
“I…” Tang Yu just started to speak when her throat felt painfully stretched.
“You’re awake?” The doctor quickly took the cup of water next to her and held a straw to her lips.
After a couple of sips, Tang Yu’s throat felt more comfortable, but it was still hoarse, “What happened to me?”
“You had a fever, and you’ve been unconscious for a whole day and night.” The doctor said, pulling out the thermometer from under her arm, “The fever has almost subsided.”
Tang Yu shrank back in fear.
A fever… She actually got so ill from Ye Sihan that she had been unconscious for a whole day and night.
It was simply terrifying!
“Rest for now, I’ll go get you something to eat,” the doctor said and left.
Although the fever had left Tang Yu, her body was still very weak, her head throbbing with pain.
This was a VIP ward, as comfortable as a luxury suite, a place she couldn’t afford.
She turned her face towards the window, and the sky outside had darkened.
Having been out since last night, and now into the second evening without a single message, Li Xue would be worried about her.
Where was her phone?
Her clothes had been torn to shreds at that time, even the phone in her pants pocket would not have been held in place, right?
Now she was wearing comfortable pajamas, which seemed to be from Ye Mansion’s wardrobe.
After fainting in the car, she didn’t wake up, perhaps had been taken to Ye Mansion, which might explain why she’d ended up with a fever in the middle of the night.
With difficulty, she shifted her gaze, glanced at the bedside table on the left, only a water cup.
Looking to the right bedside table, her phone was lying there.
She turned over, reaching out for the phone.
Lacking the strength in her body, her fingers always fell just short, and it took almost all her effort to breathe a little harder.
Someone approached from the side, handing her the phone.
Tang Yu took the phone, looked up.
Xiao Yu asked, “How do you feel?”
Tang Yu’s face was cold; even if Xiao Yu was just Ye Sihan’s assistant, seeing him didn’t improve her mood.
Was she displacing her anger?
There was no way she could be calm and composed.
Seeing her cold face, Xiao Yu was indifferent, “I asked the doctor, she said if you don’t continue to have a fever tonight, you can be discharged tomorrow…”
“Do you think I’m guilty?” Tang Yu interrupted him, turned her face, and looked at him.
Xiao Yu knew what she meant, but he was only an assistant.
“Does Ye Sihan’s father lose all rights to find another wife at such a young age? Isn’t it normal to seek one’s own happiness? Should he spend the rest of his life alone in loneliness?” Tang Yu blurted out. “How can people be so selfish? To hate my mother, and to torment me! What did I do wrong? I didn’t do anything! Why treat me like this?”
Xiao Yu saw the tears sliding out of the despair in Tang Yu’s eyes, swallowed the words he wanted to say.
“I have not been happy since I was a child either! Whom should I torment then?” Tang Yu cried out. “Let Ye Sihan die!”
After roaring, she had nearly exhausted the meager strength in her body.
She gasped for breath, huddled in the blankets.
Tears soaked the pillowcase, sadness uncontrollable.
“Being so impulsive won’t do you any good,” Xiao Yu said. “And you shouldn’t have gone behind Mr. Ye’s back to apply for a new passport. Actually, if you do nothing and just follow Mr. Ye, life might not be too hard.”
Tang Yu stared at the wall opposite her with tearful eyes and asked, “My passport… how did he find out about it?”
At the time, she hadn’t brought her cell phone; her movements were untraceable!
It was even less possible that someone was monitoring her!
“Mr. Ye was preparing to go abroad for business cooperation and arranged for you to accompany him, which required a passport. Only then did he discover your passport had expired. He called the authorities, who informed him that you had reported the loss and applied for a new one.”
Tang Yu stood there in a daze.
So, it wasn’t a slip-up on her part, but an unexpected possibility she had never considered—it was Ye Sihan planning to take her abroad with him.
Tang Yu didn’t even know if she should say she was extraordinarily unlucky.
Why on earth would Ye Sihan want to take her abroad?
Her plan had been exposed, and hope was gone.
Nothing could make her more desperate than this.
At this moment, someone pushed the door and entered. Tang Yu lacked the strength to see who it was, but even without looking, she knew who had come.
The air in the ward immediately felt oppressive.
Sure enough, she heard Xiao Yu greet with a ‘Mr. Ye,’ then the sound of the door closing. Xiao Yu had left.
Tang Yu’s fingers by her side trembled as they clutched the sheets, her whole being in fear.
The atmosphere around was so quiet that she could only hear her own heartbeat and breathing.
“Turn your face this way,” came a low voice carrying a command.
Facing the wall, Tang Yu slowly turned her face. The man standing by the bed was tall, but she didn’t raise her eyes to look at him, appearing utterly lifeless.
Her complexion was the sickly pale of illness.
A shadow loomed above her, two hands bracing on the pillow beside her ears.
Tang Yu’s body tensed subconsciously, fearfully looking up at the man above her and those sharp, black eyes.
It was as if her soul was being sucked into that black hole and torn to pieces.
“Repeat what you just said,” Ye Sihan’s dark eyes intensely fixed on her.
Tang Yu watched him, breath unsteady, her heart so terrified it seemed as though it might burst from her throat.
The words she had uncontrollably spoken to Xiao Yu, even cursing Ye Sihan to die, had all been overheard by him.
Now, in front of Ye Sihan, she didn’t have the courage to repeat those words, but still defiantly expressed her inner resentment, “Ye Sihan, I hate you!”
Ye Sihan pinched her chin with one hand, his gaze piercing through her eyes with an indifferent attitude, “Is that so.”
“I will leave the capital one day, to be far away from you! Do you plan to watch me 24 hours a day?” Tang Yu was furious. “However powerful you are, there will always be oversights!”
“Haven’t learned a thing, have you?” Ye Sihan’s eyes darkened. “Thinking of trying again? I wonder if this hospital bed can withstand it.”
Tang Yu shuddered with fright, biting her lip in silence.
Although she was scared, she had spoken the truth!
There still had to be a glimmer of hope, she absolutely would escape from the jaws of death!
Did Ye Sihan think acting tough was useful?
The hand gripping her chin tightened slightly, “Besides, if it goes on, it would be no fun if you were to die.”
Tang Yu’s fingers under the blanket relaxed, her genuine fear of Ye Sihan continuing was real!
His physical strength left her with no doubts about such a possibility!
“You think you can escape? Li Xue is your friend, right? Dealing with her is no different from crushing an ant,” he said.
The eyes that had just been defiant instantly became panicked. Tang Yu’s hand clutched his sleeve, “No! You can do whatever you want to me, just don’t hurt her! She’s just my friend, she has nothing to do with the Ye Family!”
