Chapter 212: The Battle Between The Candidates

Rael took a deep breath and steadied himself. Reinhardt was a worthy opponent, since he was, in fact, one of the main bosses of the entire Dralgur Continent.

There were a few things Rael wanted to do before he proceeded to take over his body and obviously yoink the Gluttony skill.

And those few things were none other than kicking Reinhardt’s ass one last time.

With the announcement hanging in the air, the two stared at each other in silence for a few moments.

And unlike last time, Rael made the first move.

He took a step forward, arriving right in front of Reinhardt. Then, with a simple thrust of his rapier, he aimed for Reinhardt’s neck.

Obviously, it wouldn’t be so easy. So, with a mere twirl of his blade, Reinhardt managed to deflect Rael’s rapier, then send a kick his way.

Rael’s brows furrowed as he caught Reinhardt’s foot and yanked it backward, causing him to momentarily lose his foothold.

Yet that didn’t seem to matter much, as Reinhardt stuck his greatsword into the solid ground and used it as leverage to kick Rael away.

Despite it being such a simple kick, the damage was pretty damn impressive.

[HP -12.11M! 1,135B/1.151B]

Damn… if he’s dealing so much damage, then his stats must be in the millions… after all, he’s a normal human with no modifiers except for that overpowered Gluttony skill, Rael thought with a frown as he skidded across the ground, arriving right by the arena’s wall.

All of a sudden, Reinhardt’s greatsword came flying straight at Rael, prompting him to dodge.

Or so Reinhardt expected.

Instead, Rael tried to store the incoming greatsword inside his inventory, but he was soon met with one very obvious hurdle.

Fuck you too. Rael tilted his head, dodging the greatsword.

He backed off to the side and tapped both the black string and red string in unison.

Reinhardt’s brows furrowed as he lowered his guard, and of course, what followed was a silent note straight to the no-no square.

-7.144B! Critical Hit! (1x Crystal Violin Blade)

The note went straight through the armor and cleaved the shocked Reinhardt in half.

Yet not even a moment later, his body began regenerating rapidly.

As Rael narrowed his eyes and looked closer, he was able to see the reason why.

Hm… no wonder he’s called overpowered, Rael snickered as he decided to take this fight more seriously.

Currently, he had three options to deal with this guy.

The first: Keep killing him until he runs out of stats.

The second: Cancel his skill mid-revive with Premium Override. Or, for that matter, steal it entirely.

But seeing as how we’re duking it out in this arena, it’s probably best I put on a show. So I’ll have to refrain from ending this too quickly.

And of course, there was also the third option, which was similar to the second: Use the Anti Magic (Ancient) skill.

That’s also a no-go for now… I guess I should just make an investment to overcome the stat difference.

That was why he opened the premium shop and looked for a particular skill.

•—Premium Shop—•

Category: Skills/Movement/Something Fancy/Evasion

•—Balance: 4,233,400,049 Trell—•

• Advanced Ballerina Manual (Epic): 125,000,000 (125M) Trell

• Phantom Petal Step (Rare): 175,000,000 (175M) Trell

• Hollow Waltz (Legendary): 500,000,000 (500M) Trell

• Secret Helicopter Manual For In Bed Practices Created By The Lustful Magician (Common): 1,000,000,000 (1B) Trell

He wasn’t feeling like a ballerina today, and he definitely didn’t want some petal-stepping technique.

The last one did sound interesting though… but not something he needed at the moment.

As his gaze fell on Hollow Waltz and he inspected it, his eyes widened. And of course, he bought it without hesitation.

Hollow Waltz [Level 1 | 0/100] (Legendary)

—A ghostly dance of evasion and counterstrike.

1. Phantasmal Step:

2. Mirage Waltz:

First [Phase] follow-up attack deals +150% bonus damage and applies [Temporal Bleed], preventing all types of healing for 5s and increasing all damage taken by 5%. Stacks up to 3 times

4. Hollow Memory:

Cooldown: 180 Days

Rael glanced through it for a few moments and took note of all its details. It seemed like a fun skill to use, and it was especially overpowered because it greatly synergized with his Primordial Sight.

Which, after so long, had nearly reached max level.

Primordial Sight: [Level 99 | 45,224/98,503] (Mythic+)

I wonder what’s going to happen once I’m finally at max level? Rael mused and stretched his back.

It seemed like Reinhardt finally regained his composure after the earlier money shot, so now the only thing left was to test out his new skill.

And Rael didn’t need to wait long, as all of a sudden, his Foresight showed Reinhardt reappearing from behind him, likely using the greatsword as a means of teleportation.

Rael focused on that feeling, and when Reinhardt disappeared from his sight, Rael turned around, meeting the furious Reinhardt head-on.

He had actually teleported to his greatsword, and now, he firmly held it with both arms as he swung it directly at Rael’s neck.

But just as the attack was about to hit, Rael ducked, dodging the attack.

<[Phase] has been triggered!>

The moment that pop-up appeared, his vision shifted, and he found himself standing behind Reinhardt.

Even though Rael was surprised by the effects of this new skill, he didn’t hesitate to hit the red string, causing a sharp, fiery note to emerge and cleave straight through Reinhardt’s neck.

And as for the damage? Well…

-21.66B! Critical Hit! (1x Crystal Violin Blade)

It was the largest single-hit damage he had ever dealt.

But even so, Reinhardt didn’t stay dead for long.

Reinhardt swiftly regenerated his head and glanced back at Rael with wariness.

A smirk tugged at Rael’s lips as he tilted his head.

“Oh, the irony…” Rael muttered, holding back the laugh.

“Why, if it isn’t the consequences of your own actions…”
