<[Phase] has been…>
Rael sighed as he stepped back after killing Reinhardt one more time.
He had lost interest after the 40th kill, and by now, he was just doing this to break Reinhardt’s mind.
Reinhardt still tried his best to attack, but it never worked out, since with each death, his speed lessened. It had reached the point where his speed was similar to Rael’s.
But because Rael had the Hollow Waltz skill, Reinhardt couldn’t even land a single hit.
And it was finally time to cash in his main plan.
<(x1) Human [Level 1,349] has been Threaded!>
Rael smirked, then ducked, avoiding a full-powered slash just in the nick of time.
Because of that…
<[Phase] has been triggered!>
But he didn’t counterattack Reinhardt anymore. Instead, Rael did one simple thing, and that was to activate Synaptic Hijack. 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝒐𝒎
He skipped past the Mind Realm and appeared inside Reinhardt’s body.
Rael was in full control, so as always, he walked up to his own body and accepted his own hand.
Hmm… Rael’s brows furrowed. That’s not enough.
He needed 7 billion Trell to take Reinhardt’s gluttony skill. But he was currently over 2 billion Trell short.
For fuck’s sake. I thought since he, the king’s son, would have a bit more money. But the big boss was only carrying 1.4 billion Trell? Damn, Rael thought in frustration and left Reinhardt’s body.
“Huh…?” Reinhardt muttered in sheer defeat. “Not only do you beat me in battle, but you also steal all my money… just what kind of greedy bastard are you?”
“Greedy? I’m not greedy.” Rael shook his head. “I just hate money going to waste, you know?”
Reinhardt’s brows furrowed as he dashed in, trying to strike Rael down.
But instead of humoring his attempt, Rael simply thrust his rapier directly through Reinhardt’s eye.

The damage wasn’t enough to kill him, but it was definitely enough to stagger him until Rael got some extra funding.
Rael cleared his throat and turned toward the Hollow King, Kareth.
He was sitting on his throne and leisurely sipping a drink. From time to time, he saw Kareth laugh at the fight, but ever since a few deaths ago, he remained silent.
But even so…
“Hey, long time no see,” Rael called out, causing Kareth to tilt his head.
“You can see me?” Kareth asked and waved, to which Rael waved back.
“Yep. Pretty neat, I guess,” Rael replied with a chuckle. “But hey, have you heard of this new plushie toy in the human world? It’s like… plastic or some shit. I only need 2 billion to get it into production.”
He was pretty bad at coming up with scams on the spot, and it kind of showed.
Just a little.
“What…?” Kareth held back a laugh. “Now, why would I be interested in some toys?”
“Nah, I lied,” Rael gave in. “But I do need 2 billion Trell right now, unless you’re planning to let us out without one of us dying.”
Kareth tilted his head. “2 billion Trell? You need chump change, and for what exactly? And no, one of you has to die here. That’s one of the rules of this place. In exchange for me providing an arena, a soul must be sacrificed, you know?”
“Right…” Rael sighed, glancing back at Reinhardt, whose eye began to slowly regenerate. “You see… this guy has an interesting skill, and I want it.”
“He has a skill you want?” Kareth asked. “Why don’t you make your own version of the skill instead?”
Rael rolled his eyes. “I’m not exactly at a level where I could be doing that.”
“Pfft… I guess Zarkul didn’t teach you anything, did he?” Kareth chuckled as he stood up from the throne.
Then, with a single step, he broke through the cage barrier and reappeared in front of Rael.
And the moment he did, Rael felt a strange presence wash over him.
Kareth was strong, unbelievably strong. But the fact that Rael couldn’t sense his strength at all was alarming.
It was just a blessing that Kareth was one of the calmer and more approachable monsters from the Depths.
“So he hadn’t taught you how to create skills yet?” Kareth asked again, then narrowed his eyes. “Oh… you’re much lower level than I had thought. How are you even here again?”
“…?”
Kareth continued. “This arena only allows those that have accumulated enough feats to ascend to Grade 1. Sure… the requirements aren’t that high for the first ascension, but you’re not even level 400 yet. How do you even have enough feats?”
The moment Kareth finished his words, he suddenly walked up to Rael and tapped his forehead.
Then, to Rael’s surprise, a few pop-ups appeared in front of him, making his eyes widen.
3. Abnormal stat amount that does not suit level. Killed monsters hundreds of levels above him.
2. Survived an encounter with 3 ancient monsters: The Beast, Zarkul | Hollow King, Kareth | Ancient Mindweaver, Evelyn
1. Favored by the regular Gods and the Primordial Gods. Extremely high negative Karma. Possibility of being expelled by the world.
“Possibility of being expelled by the world?” Kareth muttered in awe. “Kid… that’s an achievement even I didn’t get. Just what did you do?”
“Uhh… beats me?” Rael fell into thought for a few moments, but even so, he couldn’t recall anything that would potentially bring up such a feat.
Of course, there was the possibility of Evelyn’s prophecy having something to do with it, and of course, the original Developers might be the people who’d expel Rael.
But that’s such a stretch… I have no clue—
“Oh, there’s one more,” Kareth said, and tapped the air.
Yet the moment the pop-up appeared, both Rael and he froze.
0. Survived the causality of inevitable death.
